Villa in Montauroux, Nr. Fayence, Var, Provence, France - Combines seclusion with convenience to Shops, Restaurants and Numerous Activities

Entering through Villa Tifaluna's remote controlled gates takes you into an idyllic world of a Provencal garden, with numerous places to sit and dream. To the right is a projecting timber decked terrace for enjoying your coffee or aperitifs and watching the sun slowly set behind the distant mountains..Further up the drive is an infinity pool with glorious panoramic views and both shaded and sun drenched areas for lounging. There is a secure area away from the pool for children to play. Covered and open terraces, suitable for eating at any time of day and into the evening, lead from the villa which has been built, decorated and equipped to the highest standards in true Provencal style. The villa is situated on the slopes leading up to Montauroux, with shops and restaurants 2 minutes by car or 20 minutes walk. Lac de St Cassien with its water park is 5 minutes by car. Grasse to the east and the five "village perches" to the west, are all within 20 minutes. Many Mediterranean resorts are within 30 minutes with golf at Terre Blanche 10 minutes. There are numerous walks directly from the villa including to and around the lake.

About Michael Lohn

My wife and I live in England but spend many weeks each year at Tifaluna as we have now retired.

We had previously taken many holidays renting properties in France and Italy. The properties unfortunately were rarely welcoming or particularly comfortable so we decided to buy our own with the features we preferred and furnish it as we wished. Although we had expected to compromise on our wish list Villa Tifaluna not only ticked all our boxes but over time has ticked many which we had not listed.

We have visited all the places we have listed and sampled many of the activities. We have spent many enjoyable weeks at Tifaluna and we wish you as much enjoyment if you should choose to rent the villa.

Why Michael Lohn chose Montauroux

Villa Tifaluna provides a totally secluded hideaway, with panoramic views, just minutes from every facility. The villa, built in the Provencal style, is fitted out to the highest level of specification. Externally there are numerous place to sun bath, lounge, eat and drink with an "L" shaped infinity pool for cooling off.

The location is convenient to the many towns and resorts on the Mediterranean, and inland to Lac de St Cassien, Grasse, the Gorges du Verdon and the many village perche.

Notes on accommodation: The villa is not suitable for children under 5, for although the pool is fitted with an alarm it can be accessed directly from the villa. There is a fenced, gated area in which children can play. Smoking in the villa is not permitted. Pets are not allowed. Outside: The villa sits within a landscaped garden, fully enclosed by fencing and accessed through remote controlled gates. The 8m x 8m "L" shaped infinity pool, surrounded by a large tiled terrace, is a feature of the villa as are the landscaped and terraced gardens and the magnificent and extensive views. There is a covered terrace for dining and another which can be shaded by a motorized awning. Further terraces and sitting areas are provided throughout the garden with a timber decked terrace for lounging and enjoying the distant views. There is ample lighting to the garden and pool to extend enjoyment of the villa well into the night. The garage, which is available for use, houses a table tennis table. A boules court is on the same level with 4 sets of boules provided. A fenced and gated area, away from the pool, can be used as a children's play area. There is an external pool changing room with a solar heated shower. Utility Room: Vide Sanitaire, accessed externally, contains washing machine, freezer, second fridge, iron and ironing board and has ample storage for garden furniture, suitcases, etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The villa is cleaned before each let. The pool is cleaned weekly and the lawns cut and garden tidied before each let. All linen and towels are provided and linen changed each week. Other: All windows to the bedrooms and living areas are provided with mosquito blinds. The living rooms are decorated and furnished in Provencal style. There is a good supply of books, maps and game

Family Holiday

Wow, this place provided the perfect base for our family holiday. With an extended family group of seven ranging from 4 to 79 years, all needs were met, and more;

Stunning views to enjoy, an amazing pool, beautiful outdoor space whether lazing by the pool, reading on the patio, or eating outside. From a practical point, plenty of shaded areas available.

The villa is equipped to a high standard, providing everything you should need to make it feel like home (great kitchen facilities, freesat, wifi, plenty of towels, and outdoor seating/loungers). Layout also works well for a larger group with a nice sitting area, separate bathroom/toilets and good bedroom sizes.

From a location point of view, this is the perfect base for exploring local villages, the lake, and also easy access to major towns and cities of the Cote d'Azur. We enjoyed the variety this provided whether we fancied a day at the beach, pottering around a local market, or taking in some of the tourist sites and attractions.

A car is essential.

We were very happy with all the information and instructions provided by the owner prior to arrival and also had contact details for a helpful 'site manager' during our stay if needed. On our last day, a team of cleaners arrived promptly to ensure the house was prepared for the next group.

Overall, we would highly recommend this and hope to return again ourselves!

Great property, well laid out & equipped

Idyllic lounging by the infinity pool with a view of terracotta roofs and olive-green poplars dotting the French hillsides. Loved the layout of the spacious L-shaped villa with the master bedroom at one end, with three others on the mezannine at the other, so everyone can relax. Great idea to put a ping pong table in the garage. Good kitchen, well equipped. Bathrooms are functional, but not stunning, beds are comfortable but not luxuriously wide, and I would recommend bringing your own hairdryer.

Villa Tifaluna

The villa was a most delightful and spacious property which was very well equipped and managed. It is situated in a private and quiet residential area with a large supermarket and several boulangeries within a few minutes drive to get fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, brioches and baguettes for daily breakfast.

The large garden allowed one to escape for a quiet snooze in the Cote d’Azur sunshine after a quick dip in the pool. There were ample sun lounge chairs for our family of six adults and even a paddling pool and pool toys for our 9-month old toddler.

One of the most pleasing features was the affinity pool granting unrestricted view of the surrounding area. Consequently, having breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the terrace was a joy to behold watching the rising and setting sun.

The villa manager based locally was most helpful and so was the owner.

Everyone of our party enjoyed our stay at this most homely and delightful villa. It is highly recommended.

Beautiful Villa in beautiful gardens. The villa itself was to very high standards including satellite TV and internet connections. Well laid out bedrooms and good bathrooms / kitchens. We spent virtually all of out time from waking up to going to bed sitting in the garden. The most wonderful views. Without doubt the exterior lighting was the best we have experienced in France.

Swimming pool was great and loved by our grandchildren. 5 year old and 9 year old.

The Lake just a mile away is a must for children with pedalos, safe swimming areas and bouncing castles within the water. Also sunbeds and eating facilities.

Wonderful little villages within a few miles of the property.Only downside was very limited Restaurants within realistic walking distances. A car is essential.

Owner very helpful and 'site manageress' obliging.

The Mediterranean resorts of Antibes, Cannes, Theoule-sur-Mer, St-Raphael, Frejus and St-Aygulf are all within 30 minutes drive with Nice and St-Maxime being 45 minutes. The resorts have numerous restaurants with many on the beach or over the water. Frejus has an enormous water park for children. All the towns have festivals with jazz at Antibes, film of course, at Cannes and music and carnivals at others. In the peak season they all have firework displays.

Lac de St Cassien, 5 minutes by car provides facilities for swimming and boating with a beach and water park for children and cafe for snacks.


Nice Airport 40 minutes. Toulon Airport 1 hour 10 minutes. A8 motorway 10 minutes. St Raphael TGV station (TGV connects directly with Eurostar) - 30 minutes. Use of car recommended. All major car hire companies operate at airports and TGV station.


The villa is, 2 minutes by car or 20 minutes walk to the boulangerie, presse, charcuterie and 3 restaurants. Supermarkest are 5 minutes by car. The five local "village perches" are all within 20 minutes, as is Grasse. The Mediterranean is 30 minutes by car.

Further Details:

Montauroux is the most easterly of the five "villages perches" with Callian, Tourettes, Fayence and Seillan all being within 20 minutes of Villa Tifaluna. Each village is very different, both as seen from below and on the ground. Each has its own square, in which it holds its market, its restaurants, bars and cafes and each has very different, spectacular views. 20 minutes by car is Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. The numerous caves based on St-Cezaire-sur Siagne are also 20 minutes away. This is also the location of the spectacular Gorge de Siagne. Lac de St Cassien, 5 minutes by car, has a water park for children with pedalos, canoes, a swimming obstacle course and floating icebergs for climbing and jumping and a cafe for snacks. The lake also has its more peaceful side with a bird sanctuary and quiet beaches, some of which can be reached by car and others by boat or walking.

An airfield for gliders is located in the valley below Fayence, with lessons being available for the novice. The area is a walker's paradise with, in addition to the major trails running for tens of kilometres, virtually traffic free walks directly from the villa to and around the lake and up to Montauroux.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% secures your reservation, the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of the rental period. If booking within 8 weeks of the arrival date, the full rental must be paid at the time of booking. A refundable breakage deposit of £700 is required with the final payment. This will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

Changeover day is Saturday.

The rates are inclusive of electricity, water, cleaning and weekly linen change.
All rates are based on two week bookings. Single week rentals are available but may be subject to a 10% supplement except where there is only one week between bookings when the standard weekly rate will be charged. Payment to be by cheque.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
