House in Annecy Lake (St Jorioz), Haute Savoie, French Alps. - Peaceful location, very close to the lake and the village, 2 GOLF courses 20 mns away.

The house is ideally located in a very quiet and pleasant disctrict, near the lake and the local sailing club where one can rent catamarans and windsurfs, canoes and kayaks. However close to the centre of the village and its amenities. Guests have been enjoying coming all year round as they benefit from so many varied activities. In winter skiing in major resorts is only one hour away. In summer the lake is 5 mns walk away, the beach 15 mns walk, or you can use a few bikes at your disposal and ride aliong the cycling path at the end of the road. So nice to be able to leave the car and cycle everywhere. 2 beautiful GOLF courses 20 mns drive away, Talloires and Giers.The terrace runs South and West of the house with seating area under the lime tree. a "terrain de pétanque" along the side allows you to play "boules".The large flat garden has stunning view over the mountains. Built 60 years ago by a local family of builders,the house is fully equipped with modern appliances. It sleeps up to 12 people between the 6 bedrooms, which share 3 bathrooms, 2 of which have showers.. There is comfortable seating downstairs, with underfloor heating throughout the open plan living area, an electronic piano; on the top floor the hay drying storage has been converted into a separate flat with 2 bedrooms, a big living room with Tv, and a kitchenette. Possibility of further 4 people accommodation in small cottage in the garden.

The house is fantastic, full of charm and reflects the excellent taste and style of its owners. It is well equipped and well looked after, and surrounded by a large and beautiful garden. It may easily host 2-3 families with children.

It was our 3rd time at this property and its great for a large group. Good views ,clean and tidy and friendly owner . Loads of space for everyone and bathrooms too .Please don't go as I want it to be free for me !

Dear Michelle, thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful house. We had an amazing week and ate at the house every night as having the large outside table under the tree meant we could eat together as the sun set. Wonderful house and ideal location for the lake

We would highly recommend this beautiful traditional French house. The location is an easy walk to the lake at St Jorioz and the garden provides shelter and a space to relax. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the top floor "suite" provided a perfect separate space for privacy. So much to do around Lake Annecy - cycling on special cycle paths, crazy golf at Lac et Montagne, swimming, all kinds of water sports and our highlight - paragliding over the mountains and across the lake. A perfect holiday for an active family/group of friends.

St Jorioz Annecy house with great character.

Relaxing. Fun. Warm. Convenient. Spacious. And any other positive verbs you can think of. The house is very well equipped and a true home from home - not a show home you need to be scared of, it's lived in and friendly. Lots of board games, music options, garden games, table tennis boules, badminton and even bicycles.

Recommended for friends , family and parties. Loved it.

Great House, Great Location

The house was great for a family holiday - well equipped,clean and comfortable.

Located a short walk from the lake and within easy access of Annecy the house is ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas.

The large enclosed garden, with amazing views of the mountains, was ideal for the kids to run around in. Outside chairs and table allowed for meals to be enjoyed outside to soak up the clean air and fine views.

The ability to use the bikes on the bike designated route around the lake was an added bonus.

Great house with family feel in superb location

We used this lovely house for a cycling trip and found the property spacious and well appointed for 10 energetic and often hungry cyclists! We ate most nights in the garden,having stored our kit in the plentiful spaces available, and enjoyed table tennis and easy walks to the beach after a busy day riding.

The feel of the property was very warm thanks to the family's personal touches but not overbearingly so. The utility room was very helpful and the upstairs area provided plenty of space to relax in groups.

The location of the house was fabulous for access to Annecy, the Aravis mountains and further afield towards Albertville. The setting was peaceful with beautiful view of the mountains and with easy access to shops, the aforementioned beach and cycle path around the lake.

Overall a great property to which we would turn again.

We have chosen the shores of the Lake Annecy to anchor our British-French family based otherwise in London. We have been enjoying our house and its surroundings for the last 13 years, and we all loved coming here at every season. Friends and family alike, the house is rarely empty!..We go skiing in the winter, go for walks up the hills and mountains in all seasons, make the most of the lake from May to September. A simple but great holidays, which can be active..or just very peaceful, relaxing while enjoying the stunning view of the mountains on the other side of the lake.

Nearest Airport : Geneva at 55 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Saint-Jorioz at 1 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Giez at 15 Kilometres Nearest Train : Annecy at 10 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : Annecy at 10 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Saint-Jorioz at 0.5 Kilometres Nearest Ski : La Sambuy at 35 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Paragliding from above Talloires or Le col de la Forclaz is easily accessible, visible also from the safety of the garden. Skiing in major resorts (la Clusaz, Meribel, Espace Diamant) is one hour drive away...Cookery course in a nearby private house.


The lake is 5 minutes walk from the house as well as the sailing-club where you can hire sailing-boats and canoes. You can swim from the little "coves" nearby. The beach itself is a 15 mins walk, or 2 mins by car: diving boards, sand, play area. One can swim from May to September!


Annecy airport has regular links with Paris Orly airport.

Geneva airport is the next closest - 50 minutes by car, and the best one to use. Lyon is the next best, as coaches depart from the St Exupery/Lyon airport to Annecy.

The TGV from Paris takes about 4.5 hours.

Car hire is not essential as you can access most of the lake area by bike or ferry (April - October) and local buses from and to Annecy run regularly during the day.


Saint-Jorioz is very close and a short bicycle ride away and 2 mins by car.

The beautiful old town of Annecy is only 10kms going North along the lake, and a very pleasant cycle ride away (30 mins). Talloires and Menthon St Bernard are 2 lovely villages across the lake, accessible by car but also in summer with the local boat service.

Further Details:

The small town of Saint-Jorioz, which is 5 mins by car has all necessary amenities: supermarket, bakeries, newsagents, banks, restaurants.

Several nice restaurants are set along the lake shore in nearby Duingt, Sevrier.

Water-skiing and rowing, sailing, pedalos, Hangliding, skiing..

This will be returned upon departure following satisfactory inspection of the property, which should be left in an acceptable state of cleanliness and order, although a final professional cleaning is to be added at 150€.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday, but could be discussed, depending on the season. Please vacate the house by 10am, after leaving in in an orderly state, if not perfectly clean! You may arrive from 4pm.

Notes on prices:
Rent is for a week minimum.
The rental price is negotiable and depends on the number of people and the length of the stay (10% reduction on 2d week).

From the Owner

The house is only 5 minutes walk from the lake, the cycling path starts at the end of the road, the garden is very big and enjoys stunning views of the mountains. The house itself has lots of charm, as it is not new but has been built 60 years ago in the Savoyard style, by our neighbour across the road! The loft (where the farmer used to stack the hay to dry) has been converted 8 years ago as an independent flat with a kitchenette within the big sitting room, 2 double bedrooms and a shower room. On the first floor one bathroom and a very recently renovated shower room , to be shared by the 4 bedrooms.
