About this property

Beautiful family home , big lawned garden with stunning views across mountains

The house is ideally located on a pleasant road just five minutes from Lake Annecy and the local sailing club where you can rent catamarans and windsurfs, canoes and kayaks. It is also within a short distance of the centre of the local village, Saint Jorioz, and its amenities.

The terrace runs South and West of the house with a table seating area under a lovely lime tree. The large flat garden also has stunning view over the mountains, with hammocks and sunloungers available for guests to bask in the sun. A "terrain de pétanque" which runs along the side is perfect for a game of "boules" during sunset.

Built 70 years ago by a local family of builders, the house is fully equipped with modern appliances. It sleeps up to 12 people between the 6 bedrooms, which share 3 bathrooms, 2 of which have showers.

There is comfortable seating downstairs, with underfloor heating throughout the open plan living area, a wood burning insert, vinyl player and electronic piano. Meanwhile, a second living room on the top floor features a big living room with a large TV and bar / kitchenette.

Several bikes are available at guests' disposal, with a fantastic, 40km+ long cycling path starting just at the end of the road.

There are huge amounts of activities for guests to enjoy throughout the year, from skiing in major resorts like Meribel, which is just over an hour away, to swimming, paddle-boarding or sailing on the lake nearby in the summer, as well as hikes and other activities in the stunning mountains nearby.

For golf lovers, there are two beautiful golf courses 20 mns drive away, Talloires and Giers.

For larger groups, we also offer the possibility of accommodating a further 4 people accommodation in a small cottage in the garden.

Beautiful family house close to the lake
We had a wonderful stay in this well equipped house. Very spacious with beautiful mountain views from the peaceful garden. Only a five minute walk from the lake so we were able to easily cool off in the hot weather as well as rent kayaks and paddle boards. Michelle was a welcoming host who was easy to contact if needed. We would happily stay here again.

Charmante maison
Une maison accueillante, où on a l'impression d'y être chez soi. Spacieuse et rien ne manque. Vraiment très bien.

Dear Michelle, thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful house. We had an amazing week and ate at the house every night as having the large outside table under the tree meant we could eat together as the sun set. The lake and beach was very close and the kids loved the diving boards and pedlows. Thanks - Ian

Wonderful house and ideal location for the lake
We would highly recommend this beautiful traditional French house. The location is an easy walk to the lake at St Jorioz and the garden provides shelter and a space to relax. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the top floor "suite" provided a perfect separate space for privacy. So much to do around Lake Annecy - cycling on special cycle paths, crazy golf at Lac et Montagne, swimming, all kinds of water sports and our highlight - paragliding over the mountains and across the lake. A perfect holiday for an active family/group of friends.

About the host

Hosted by Michelle Pelly

Host profile image
We are an English-French couple who lived abroad several years. We have chosen la Région Rhône-Alpes (Michelle is originally from Lyon) and specially the shores of lake Annecy, pleasant in all seasons, to anchor our family of three daughters in their late twenties equally in love with the place, as well as their many friends!

Why they chose this property

We literally fell in love with the house after 6 months of search, because of its proximity to the lake, the charm of an old home but with all modern comfort, it's fabulous view over the mountains, its space and the flat garden..we all love coming here at every season. Friends and family alike, the house is rarely empty!..We go skiing in the winter, go for walks up the hills and mountains in all seasons, swim in and sail on the lake from May to September. A great relaxing or sporty holidays, while enjoying the stunning view of the mountains on the other side of the lake.

What makes this property unique

The house is only 5 minutes walk from the lake, the cycling path starts at the end of the road, the garden is very big and enjoys stunning views of the mountains. The house itself has lots of charm, as it is not new but has been built 70 years ago in the Savoyard style, by our neighbour across the road! The loft (where the farmer used to stack the hay to dry) has been converted 8 years ago as an independent flat with a kitchenette within the big sitting room, 2 double bedrooms and a shower room.
On the first floor one bathroom and a shower room , to be shared by the 4 bedrooms.
