Complete tranquility and a peaceful setting this villa is an ideal place to holiday. A family home, rented as a holiday home for like minded people who enjoy being away from the hub bub of the tourist trappings but are within a five minute drive of everything one needs for an all action or just a relaxing beach holiday. The pool at the rear of the villa is flanked by the peak of Mount Montgo. While away the sunny days relaxing around the pool chilling out and alfresco dining, then at night particularly in the warm summers evenings, it is a joy to float in the pool watching the moon rise and cross the sky as it changes the colours of the rock on the peak of Mount Montogo, truly enchanting and romantic. The pollution free atmosphere provides for beautiful clear starlit skies. The villa has the best of both a mountain and a coastal view as it is set on a corner plot affording a good size garden and wonderful views across the sea.

About the Owner

My husband and I live in Worcestershire. Having no children has enabled us to travel extensively over the years both in England and abroad. We have a keen interest in character properties and that is the reason for buying Bishops converted chapel in Cornwall, see property reference E777. We would only buy properties we would live or holiday in ourselves and have high standards. Our love of the countryside is reflected in the situation of Bishops and our guests agree. The biggest thrill we get is when our guests have enjoyed staying in Bishops as much as we do. This is not a contemporary soulless holiday home, with absent landlords, it is our family holiday home which we enjoy as often as work commitments allow. With all the comforts one expects for 21st century living but with many original features from the chapel still apparent. I am the booking agent for the Denia villa which is owned by a friend who does not have the time to manage it himself. I apply the same standards to this villa as I do to Bishops converted chapel in Bude. See the location page for the history of the villa S15399.

Amazing Holiday

What an amazing find, this villa is everything you could want for a fantastic holiday. The pool area is lovely, along with the under cover rattan seating area where we spent many a night enjoying the evening sun. Margaret the next door neighbour is a mine of information and it was loveley chat to her about places to visit and also about the local area.

I look forward to returning in the near future.

Fabulous time in Denia

I stayed in the villa in Denia with a group of friends .... What a find !!!!! The villa is homely and comfortable with everything you need and more ....

The pool and patio area is luxurious catching all that fantastic Spanish sun until late in the day 😍 Only a short drive or walk if you fancy a bit of exercise to gorgeous Denia town and port with loads of bars eateries and shops .

Highlight of our stay was meeting our delightful neighbour who welcomed our chatter and was a great source of local information ....best visits etc

I will definitely be returning to Denia and this villa .... Loved every minute 😍

Denia villa

Had an absolutely wonderful time. The weather was beautiful and the villa really beautiful. The bathrooms are gorgeous and the showers amazing including the outdoor shower by the pool. Pool lovely and warm and spent hours and hours on the patio in the evening under the beautiful lighting. Can't wait to go back. Thank you so much

Location

With regard to the villa in Denia, this is a villa owned by a friend whose parents had the property built on the side of Mount Montgo in an exclusive residential area some 30 years ago and have owned it ever since. It is now being offered to the general public as a holiday let to enable others to enjoy its wonderful position and facilities. The fact that they lived in the property for over 20 years is testament to the villa and the surrounding area. Denia is situated in a convenient part of the Costa Blanca offering beaches to museums and everything in between. Safe for children with lockable gates. Both bathrooms have been updated in 2016 and the garden and pool area has been totally refurbished to offer a solar outdoor shower, the tiles around the pool area have been replaced with non slip tiles and extended. A pagoda has been erected and has comfortable seating with outdoor electric sockets and lighting and a bbq/food preparation area has been installed. All in all this property provides all the mod cons of 21st century living, it has the comfort of home from home and offers the best of both worlds in that it is in a quiet residential area but only a short drive to Denia offering everything.

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches within 5-10 minutes drive of the villa. Les Marines has 20 kms of sandy beaches offering beach bars and restaurants whilst in the opposite direction, if you would prefer to avoid getting sand in your sandwiches, you can bathe at Les Rotes which offers lovely rocky coves where you can snorkel, swim and while away the hours rock pooling which is always a great way of keeping both children and adults quiet for many an hour. There is a flat promenade from Les Rotes to Denia offering great walking, running or cycling.

Travel:

Alicante and Valencia airports are both within an hours drive of the villa. Although a car is not absolutely essential it makes life a lot easier. Spain has many ports. A search of the internet would provide fuller details. Many of the low cost airlines fly to both Alicante and Valencia. The road and motorway system in Spain allows easy travel once you are there, offering the options of scenic routes or motorways.

Distances:

La Pedrera is the nearest village which is about 1km downhill, (10/15 minutes walk)from the villa and Denia offering more in the way of shops, boutiques, markets, restaurants, a castle and museums and much more, is 4-5km away, a 5 minute drive. (20/30 minute walk).

Javia is about 20-25 minutes drive away.

Further Details:

Denia is on the northern tip of the Costa Blanca and is located half way between Valencia and Alicante on the Mediterranean coast. It has been a fishing and trading port for centuries and is the capital of the Marina Alta. There are three sailing clubs, marinas, fish markets, fresh food and vegetable markets and an atmospheric old town to wander around. There is a castle dating back to the Moors occupation which has great views over the whole town and coastline. (this can be seen from the villa)

With an average temperature of 20 degrees for 300 + days a year but with the summer months mainly between 25 and 35 degrees this is a wonderful place to holiday both in the summer and winter.

The nearby resort of Javia offers a typical tourist holiday resort with an old town, marina, and sandy beaches. Javia can be accessed by the scenic route over the mountain 30 minutes drive offering fantastic coastal views or by the main road (20 minutes drive). Denia holds many fiestas throughout the year including the Bull Running, 3 Kings, Fallas and many more. A full list and details can be obtained from a search of the internet.

The villa is set in an exclusive residential area of Denia on the side of Mount Mongto which is a national park and area of outstanding beauty. This means the area is not the usual ex pat Spanish community with rows of samey villas and apartments. This sets it apart from many other villas in Spain, thus affording a luxurious holiday with a homely feel rather than a soulless, characterless apartment or villa which has been abused by previous holiday guests. Being half way up Mount Montgo means the villa has spectacular views over the mountain in one direction and coastal views in the opposite direction. Only 5 mins drive from Denia means you are close to all amenities and beaches but far enough away to ensure you have a peaceful nights sleep. If you don't believe me, try it for yourself.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and the air-conditioning unit in the lounge area is both hot and cold. When the bedroom doors are open, the air-conditioning unit is sufficient to cool those rooms and the kitchen too. Outside: The poolside and garden have been refurbished in 2016 to provide a shaded pagola, comfortable rattan dining furniture a solar shower and non slip tiles around the pool. The garden is mainly tiled with some established shrub borders, a wonderful jacaranda tree provides stunning colour when it is in bloom. The swimming pool is for the use of the villa and the attached resident neighbour. (More details given upon request). A 6 foot plus wall provides privacy and security to its occupants although the road on which the villa is built is very quiet with little traffic. Bedroom one has a sliding patio door directly out onto the sun patio. Table and chairs are provided for alfresco dining and sun loungers and inflatables are provided for guests enjoyment. Lights around the garden and in the pool make sitting out at night watching the moon over the mountain stars a memorable romantic holiday. There is a gas BBQ and food preparation area for guests use. We believe in making your stay as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as possible and provide those little extras most villas don't such as inflatables for the pool, cool box, parasols and beach chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / : All towels and linen are provided. There are some older towels available for guests to use by the pool and on the beach to save on your luggage weight.
