Why Joanne Evans chose Guadalhorce (Costa del Sol)

Whether you want a relaxing time or a busy tapas bar.Or exploring the beautiful spanish lakes or walking in El Chorro .It is a very historic town with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and plenty of play parks for the children. 40 mins from malaga airport makes it easy for our visitors to get here .There are so many budget airlines flying in to Malaga now.

What makes this house unique

Location location. Our townhouse is in a fantastic location..On a wonderful traditional street with spanish neighbours all around but not noisy . It gives you a feeling of really experiencing the spanish culture and there way of life.

Jo's house

  • 4 of 5

Just returned from Jo's property Easter 2017 loved our stay there such a well equipped townhouse you will want for nothing. Fabulous views from the terrace and so close to all the amenities. The restaurants and bars really are around the corner and all that we visited were great especially de Knapp.

The town is very hilly though so please bear this in mind.

The train station is very accomadating and cheap for the coast but it will take an hours journey from alora to torremolinos not including your time from your place of stay.

We stayed in this property with the intention of looking at others while we were here and we can say that it was lovely and amazing value. We had a couple of issues that were quickly rectified. All in all a fabulous property

Lovely 4 days spent in Alora. House was very clean and spacious.and the roof terrace was an added bonus for relaxing.

Joanne made us very welcome ,lots of useful information on where to eat and visit.

The only small negative being parking, we did find it difficult to find nearby parking on several occasions ,but we did enjoy our stay very much and

hope to visit again in the near future.

Great property in an interesting town. The landlady was excellent - nothing was too much trouble.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay very much, living mainly on the roof terrace which had a great kitchen facility so eating up there was easy. Bathroom/shower rooms were well equipped as were the bedrooms - we wanted for nothing and the house was immaculately clean.

We've had lots of holidays in Spain but this was one of the best. The house was beautiful, very spacious, clean , and relaxing, a perfect holiday home. It has a lovely roof terrace with magnificent views of the Castle and surrounding area. There was no need to use a car as we were right in the town centre with everything we required on hand, good eating places, lots of lovely little shops. People were very friendly and helpful despite our inability to speak Spanish. Owner Joanne was extermly helpful and gave us lots of imformation about everything plus there was a large folder in the house with lots of useful imformation, a great idea. Good public transport, Bus and Train coordinate with each other so no long waiting between. We would certainly think about a return visit and recommend it to any one wanting a really true spanish holiday.

Best holiday house in Alora

  • 5 of 5

You would be hard pressed to find such a lovely house that is so perfectly placed in the middle of town, but in a quiet residential area.

Close to good bars, restaurants and shops. The house is really big but two staircases to second floor, so you could retain some privacy if you went as a larger party. The owners (Joanne and Brian) offer a collection from the airport service if required, which was wonderful and also gave us some valuable tips on the recommended places to visit! There are also several shops just doors away, including a butcher and baker if the town wasn't close enough anyway!

We couldn't praise this property enough - for its accommodation, location and homeliness and it is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

There is also a outside space on the third floor, which was an amazing suntrap and offered the most outstanding views of the castle and mountains.

We are sure to go back and I hope this review encourages others to try this lovely inland town and in such a gorgeous house.
