About jane murphy

Hello and welcome to our much loved second home in Docking. We chose this property not only because it is full of character but also because it is deceptively spacious, and comfortably accommodates our large family including Tilly our dog. We love the area because we are in close proximity to Burnham Market, Holkham, Wells-by-the-Sea as well as only 4 miles from the coast. We enjoy eating out and have been very impressed with not only the wide choice but also the excellent standard of the pubs and restaurants in the area. As a family we enjoy going out for cycle rides, walking Tilly along the coastal paths and exploring the many nearby towns and villages including Cley, Burnham Market, Wells, Holt and Holkham.

Why jane murphy chose Docking

We love coming to Norfolk because of the fantastic beaches, beautiful scenery and the great range of pubs and restaurants. The pace of life is slower here which means we come away feeling relaxed and more refreshed.

What makes this cottage unique

The spaciousness of the cottage with its open plan layout downstairs gives it a unique feel for a character property. All roads in North Norfolk seem to lead to Docking making Ringers cottage an ideal base from which to explore the area.

Very enjoyable stay for everyone in a lovely cottage.

Weekend walking holiday in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside made so much more by the very comfortable accommodation. The only downside was the noisy traffic passing on the road through the village.

Amazing quality for the cost. Could move in ourselves.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I shared our week with our grown up children and their other halves and our dogs.

The property felt like home immediately. We stay in cottages 5 times a year and although we always stay in attractive looking property we have never stayed anywhere as thoughtfully furnished. Properties often are the furnished with a " nice but it isn't really in keeping with the property" or " that'll do for the cottage" train of thought . Not Ringers Cottage. The owners have gone to the expense of choosing carefully what has been used both furniture and furnishings wise. Everything kitchen wise is serviceable and useful and not an unwanted unnecessary gadget.

The Rayburn kept the house warm, even on the murky rainy days at the start of the week. There was plentiful hot water. The village shop is Spar which is well stocked with all the basics and where the staff were friendly every time we popped in.The local beaches are fantastic and clean and great for us and the dogs. To be honest, I could go on and on about what a great week we've had at this property and how much it has contributed to our family week. Think Ringers Cottage should be heralded as the standard for holiday cottages.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable, spacious, well decorated and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

Accomodated 6 of us very easily.

Great downstairs kitchen, dining and sitting areas. Very cosy with oil burning stove.

Bedrooms very comfortable.

Points of local interest very accessible.

We were here on a very wintry weekend, therefore didn't avail ourselves but lovely courtyard area outside.

Would definitely stay here again.

Good family size property, well equipped for self catering. Good provision for heating. Nice village

My 2 daughters and I had a lovely weekend. A day out on Saturday. On Sunday we were able to entertain 2 nieces, 1 nephew plus spouse/ partner to lunch - 8 of us round the large table. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. The lunch was the purpose of the visit and it was perfect. Big bonus was very comfortable beds and on a bitterly cold - really cold - weekend, we were warm. A great success.

A great cottage in a great location.

A beautiful cottage in a great location. Perfectly suited us as 3 couples wishing to spend new year together. Only downside was only being able to use one shower at a time due to water pressure. Everything else just perfect thank you.
