A lovely house with great garden and pool. Nigel and Jane couldn't have done more to ensure we had a good time. We had some great day trips and loved fougers. Sadly the weather failed us!!

Wonderful France holiday house!! A+

  • 5 of 5

Great relaxing holiday with family and friends. The property is lovely and very well equipped, as soon as we arrived it felt like home from home with all you could need plus more. We didn't need to bring much as everything was provided including beach and towels etc. A real bonus when you are aiming to pack light without a roof box! Also Jane was very kind to buy our basics!!

The "swimming pool" was one of the highlights of the holiday!!! fabulously clean, with lots of inflatables and comfortable sun loungers for the adults and a plus side is the place is very safe for the children as the access to the property was closed off with an electric gate so the children where able to wonder around enjoying the gardens etc.

The weather was around 30+ degrees most days and the bedrooms did get really hot and stuffy during the night. Ended up buying some electric fans....

Nigel and Jane were extremely kind and helpful. I would be very happy to visit again and would thoroughly recommend to other travellers. Thanks again for a lovely holiday! x

Fantastically comfortable & relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

The gite is just fantastic & we would recommend it to anyone, who wants to get away from it all, whilst keeping all the home comforts to hand. We are a family of 5 (twin 7 year old girls & a 4 year old boy) & having spent a week in Eurodisney & Paris needed some real relaxation. We were not disappointed! Jane & Nigel are perfect hosts & nothing is too much trouble- having them next door is very reassuring too, just in case!

The gite itself is superb, really homely & comfortable, with everything you could possibly wish for, outside & inside seating, well stocked kitchen & lots of games. The log burner, comfy beds, power showers, British TV, BBQ & incredible night skies were some of the higlights!

The pool was, as you'd imagine, very popular indeed with our 3 & it is only a stones throw from the door, albeit via a locked gate, which is great security, as are the electric gates on the drive- it means that little ones can go for a wander, without constantly needing to be herded! Having said that, if you want a real sun-spot, the loungers by the side of the pool come highly recommended, whilst they are playing there.

The kids were fascinated by the chickens too & loved helping collect eggs- Jane & Nigel were great with our kids & that really helps to takes the pressure off!

Advice with beaches, restaurants, castles etc were excellent & every one we visited was superb for our needs.

Overall, we couldn't recommend this property highly enough & Jane and Nigel are perfect hosts. We will definitely be going back!

Peaceful haven

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fabulous and relaxing week at La Basse Lande. Jane and Nigel could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful- Jane had kindly done some shopping for us, so after a long journey having food in the fridge and wine waiting for us was very welcome. The cottage is comfortable, brilliantly equipped and easily accommodated the 9 of us( a travel cot and stair gates were provided for our toddler). We were all able to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the children were happy making the most of the heated pool, trampoline and garden games. Thankyou Jane and Nigel, we hope to return and experience more of your hospitality.

Great break away from it all

  • 5 of 5

Travelled with my partner and toddler for a week. This was the first family holiday, as opposed to just a self indulged couples break. It was just what we needed to spend quality time together away from work and other day to day distractions.

Jane and Nigel are so lovely and welcoming it was like we had gone to stay with family. But you wouldn't know they were there, but if you needed them they were.

The property itself is well maintained has character and charm, as you go in and out you catch the air of the roses around the door.

There were more facilities than we have at our home! And when our tyre was looking flat Nigel kindly pumped it up. Location is perfect and you are within easy reach of pretty much everything. To pass this up is to miss out in our opinion.

Hopefully when we have saved up again we will be back, I know our daughter would love to see you both again :)
