About the property

3 levels, sleeps 9, 4 bedrooms,3 bathrooms,60 sq.m roof garden , terrace, view, BBQ, secure area

The elegance of this home is all in its comfortable simplicity. Not to forget the peaceful quiet at the house whenever you like: it’s situated at 350 mt sea level in the bonny, quiet hills of Alassio - the famous touristic beach resort - far from us only 10 min drive. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, lounge, large kitchen on 3 floors in the exclusive use of guests. A small apartment nearby is reserved for us, we will use it occasionally to give a discreet as useful support to our guests, not forgetting the maintenance necessary for the proper functioning of the property, with its exclusive swimming pool and large gardens. The house, originally founded as a farmhouse, is now an elegant small mansion after a recent, complete and careful renovation: care in choosing the colors and accessories, furniture, recovering all original materials - terracotta floors, wooden beams at sight , stone, ancient staircase in slate (dating from the 9th century AD!), fireplace. Everything remind us the past, as our medieval tower, that the City of Alassio wanted as a symbol of the town.

About elisa sertorio

the house, dating back to the XVI century, is completely restored with care and love for the past. A job lasted five years, meeting all kinds of difficulties... the opportunity to publish the pictures you just saw, is a source of pride and great satisfaction for my husband and our two children but especially for me, I confess. The project was so exciting to inducing me - executive in a big company - to radically change my working life. A good result I think, but what an effort! I worked hard to get it, but now the dream of my life is reality. I love so much this place, (I got married here, in the family castle that you see on left ), than I have shifted a bit of my passion into the home walls . Hope you feel what I mean if you stay here some days!

First of all, many thanks for your kind welcome and the efforts you made in order to accomodate us. We all had a great time, and this is only partly due to the gorgeous house and the beautiful surroundings.

You were a very warm and gracefull host; Ciprian and myself, we both agreed that you are one special person...Ligia A.

authentic Italian holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property up in the hill from Alassio. Perfect for our children. The house is really nice and the extremely hospitable hosts Elisa and Ricardo were very helpful, yet discrete. The children loved the pool and we enjoyed our meals on the terrasse overlooking the sea. The city of Alassio gives lots of opportunities, and there are several really nice authentic Italian restaurants close by the property. For us this was the perfect authentic Italian holiday. We will definitely be back!

Traumurlaub mit Meerblick

  • 5 of 5

The Perfect Place for an Extended Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a place in the warm sun in Italy for a family of 4 and grandparents and this suited us perfectly. There was plenty of space inside and out, with a private swimming pool to cool down in when it got too hot. The whole place well maintained with Elisa and Riccardo discrete but nearby with solutions to any little problem and answers to all questions.

The place is up the hills a little bit with cooling breezes and magnificent views, so you need a small car - or a scooter! - to get into Alassio which had all amenities and a thriving night life. But it was nice to escape back afterwards to the peace of the villa.

Relaxing Holiday in Beautiful Surroundings

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the larger of the two houses, La Maclura, situated in the quiet hamlet of Vegliasco. Vegliasco is 2km from Moglio which has a shop, trattoria, bakery and bar. You can also catch the very reliable bus to Alassio from Moglio if you don't fancy the drive down the mountain yourself. It's a 10 minute drive to Alassio which has beach bars, restaurants and lots of shops.

We were two families so the layout worked perfectly for us as the adults had the two double bedrooms and the children had the children's rooms up in the attic and on the lower ground floor.

The views of Alassio and the sea are spectacular. Elisa and Ricardo were nearby and helped with restaurant bookings and tips on where to park in Alassio and locations of free beaches. They have created a beautiful home and gardens. The house was lovely inside with two terraces and an outdoor pool. We were lucky that the house next door was free during our second week and so we were able to use the outdoor kitchen and pizza oven that belongs to the neighbouring house, also owned by Elisa.

This house is the perfect Italian retreat for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Fantastica vacanza

  • 5 of 5

Vacation with group of friends

  • 5 of 5

We spent there a week in late summer 2013. There were nine adults and two kids. The most perfect number of people would have probably been seven, however we managed very well.

The pool was very nice! And the view from villa amazing! Hiking trails were close, so some of the travel mates went for a longer walks. Since the villa is couple of kilometers uphill from Alassio car is definitely a must. Owner of the villa - Elisa - was always very helpful - during the booking and during our stay.

Further Details:

The tourist history of Alassio is closely connected to its climate. Very thorough studies have compared the climate of the picturesque bay of Alassio to that of another pearl of Italian tourism, Amalfi. In fact both the coast and hilly belt are exposed to the south, a crown of mountains protects it from the northerly winds, that is why Alassio enjoys the typical Mediterranean maritime climate which is pleasant and mild, with annual range of about 15 degrees, average winter temperature of about 10 degrees and summers refreshed by marine breezes with temperatures around 25 degrees. It is above all due to its favourable climate that Alassio, towards the end of the 18th century, became among the first Italian town to receive tourism from Europe. As time went by, the first wealthy English families who started this trend were replaced by a crowd of tourists coming from all over the world, as the latest statistics on the tourist flux show. The biggest shopping center of Liguria is the 'Budello' of Alassio, the ancient alley stretching across the whole town, parallel to the sea front. Along both sides are the best shops of the western Riviera with their latest ideas and fashions: from the most modern 'griffe', to the most precious antiques and traditional tastes. You'll find here. 24 restaurants, 10 supermarkets, 10 banks and more and more.
