About Howard Perkins

We have lived in Central Scotland since 1984 and have spent many years climbing mountains all over Scotland. We first started staying in holiday cottages when our daughter was born and wanted a place of our own ever since.

Howard Perkins purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Howard Perkins chose Moray

The North East was an area that we hadn't visited much. It's only about 3 hours drive from the Central Belt of Scotland and so is easy to get to for weekends, but still far enough for it to be a world away. It is so easy to relax at Cragganmore - it is so peaceful and yet there is still plenty to do and explore. As many of our guests have said - a home away from home!

great short holidays, convenient base to visit Highlands, highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days in the lodge (Two families (4 adults and 5 kids)). We have found this property very comfortable for all our purposes. The lodge is spacious and well equipped. This place is situated in beautiful surroundings and close to main highlands attractions. Booking rules are flexible so we didn't book whole week or come on particularly day. Thanks to Howard for all help and advices.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

A great lodge in beautiful surroundings. Everything was exactly as described and we had a really relaxing week. The lodge was beautifully clean and with a variety of board games, books, dvd's and even a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival, it felt very homely and not like a 'sterile' rental property. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who wants a relaxing break or great centre for the many activities available locally.

Pleasant and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Superb and peaceful location. very neat and tidy. Lodge was clean and comfortable and very compact but spacious enough for our needs. Only issue found was that the windows were in need of a good clean. The patio doors had greasy streaks and hand prints all over which was a pity since it was so visible when the sun shone. Lovely place though. Had lovely time with my sons.

Cottage.

  • 3 of 5

Lovely place and cottage, however, it had not been cleaned from the previous occupant. I had to knock on surrounding buildings to establish if they owned the cottage and one kind man rang the lady who is responsible for cleaning and she came out straight away. I advised her to just change the upstairs bedding, towels and clean the bathroom only as I did not want to endure a full cleaning session after a ten hour drive. Not ideal. She came back the next day to do the full clean.

Owner's Response: Philip, We are so sorry that this happened (and we didn't know about it until now). We want people to arrive at a clean, welcoming Lodge, that is ready for them, and not to have to chase round to get things sorted. Certainly not after a 10 hour journey. I'm embarrassed to say that this did happen once before, although on that occasion, the guests did contact us directly and we were able to get things sorted very quickly. We will review arrangements with our cleaner to see how we can stop this ever happening again. Apologies once more. Regards Howard
