About the Owner

Hi my name is Tracy I live at the house with my family and one Russian Blue cat, Boris and a scruffy Moggie called Fester We moved into the house in August 2000 and have loved it here ever since. Mostly I love the weather here. To wake up with blue skies and the sun shining every morning is what has kept us here this long. The beach and many fabulous restaurants are just a short drive from the house, the markets with fresh vegetables and salad ingredients are open daily and to go out for the day with a picnic just seems to make sense. We moved to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the UK and found that here, we could just sit with friends, have a drink and relax. We hope you can too.

Hi Neil & Tracy,

We arrived safely back in the UK after a great holiday. We've both been impressed by the wealth of information we've gleaned from our excursions, and the friendly nature of the people; however, it must be said that our holiday was made even better by choosing to stay at your place. We will definitely be returning next year.

As soon as the unpacking and laundry is complete, I will leave some feedback

Thanks again for your hospitality.

Kind regards

Nigel & Liz

Excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

Extremely clean and well appointed apartment with everything you could possibly need.

Very spacious and well appointed - super bathroom and shower and very comfortable bed. Air con and fan in the bedroom were very welcome in the heat.

The patio is large and well equipped with a range of furniture and seating areas. Lovely pool with further seating and shaded area (very welcome for a redhead!)

Neil and Tracy were great hosts and gave us a wealth of information about local attractions and the best methods of transport. We used the local transport to visit Barcelona as advised by the hosts and it was easy to access. We also visited smaller attractions that we would have missed without Neil and Tracy's suggestions.

We didn't eat out much as I'm coeliac and the kitchen meant that we could cook 'at home' made easier by the items in the cupboard such as oil, sugar, tea, coffee, cling film, washing up liquid etc. I know this seems simple but we've stayed in many places without these basics.

We also found butter, meat, eggs and wine already chilling in the fridge!

Neil and Tracy were great hosts giving us as much space or company as we wanted. We'd definitely stay here again and would be confident in recommending the apartment to friends. Also great value compared to other places we've stayed.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jo Were glad you had a lovely time and thank you for the great review. We try and leave things for guests like those above, it makes it nicer when you arrive, we have been to places and there is not even a dishcloth, Tracy tries to make it as if we were moving in for a week and puts in what we would like to see. We also try to leave enough food so that for late nighters can have a meal at least when they arrive very late. Anyway were glad you had a nice time and a safe drive back home in that super car!! Take care and we hope to see you again. Neil and Tracy.

What a fab place!! Amazing hosts!!

  • 5 of 5

What a fab relaxing holiday!! Tracey and Neil were very friendly and welcoming and even took us along to a festival in a nearby village. The apartment was lovely and clean, it was well equipped and every thing has been well thought of, We even managed to come home with no dirty laundry!!

Tracey and Neil were always happy to help with any queries we had regarding local amenities and giving directions to us when needed.

We spent time chatting with Neil and Tracey about their experiences of Spain and local culture which was very interesting, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Many laughs were had. The pool was always clean and we used this daily for total relaxation. The pool area overlooks the local village and has a very calming effect. We will definitely be back and Fester will have grown by then 😄 Thank you both and we will see you again Louise and Chris xx

Owner's Response: Thanks Chris and Louise, It was great to meet you and have the little fun chats we had, thanks very much for the great review and for leaving the apartment nice and tidy. Were glad you had a lovely holiday and we hope that you made it back safely. Its so hot here at the moment and you are right Fester has grown and so has something else downstairs underneath his furry bits and he is going mad at the moment, time for the vet we think!!! He is lovely though and so fluffy and sweet. It was so funny seeing Chris change colour during the week from bright red to brown, didnt think he was going to make it, the pain must of been bad from that sunburn! We changed the fridge to one with a icebox and hopefully when you come back you can pop your ice creams in there, we didnt have one before has they always iced up and you had to defrost them and it eats into the changeover time but we found one that does it itself now and is automatic. (Sorry) Anyway hope Wales is nice and sunny and thanks very much for choosing to stay with us, Tracy will keep in contact with Louise on Facebook. Thanks again Neil and Tracy

Comfortable, spacious, friendly!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was created originally as a permanent home, so is very comfortable. Tracey & Neil are ideal hosts, hospitable & helpful but discrete. The property is terraced, with great views from secluded, large pool on top level. Own rooftop private terrace is also large & well equipped. Only slight downside is the narrow - but safe! - metal staircase which gives access to the terrace &, further up, the pool, but we got used to it. Location in hills behind Sitges is ideal; close enough but cooler & more peaceful, with good access to other areas of interest. Despite that, we found plenty to occupy us close by, and spent a relaxing 10 days just pottering about locally. An ideal relaxing holiday!

Owner's Response: Hi Diane Thank you very much for the nice review and we are glad you enjoyed the holiday, the steps up to the top terrace are we know slight narrow than a normal staircase but when this staircase was built the council would not give permission to allow us to make them any wider than the planters in case you walk into the staircase! Ridiculous but that is the way it is here. It was nice to have you both here and catch up on the gossip as you live close to our son in London and one day we hope you manage to make it back out here, As we live above and to the back of the apartment we never really know how much input to communicating with our guests but after chats on the steps and terraces we like to think by the end of the week or two that we hope you go home having made some new friends that you know will be here, you can always contact us here on Owners Direct, on Facebook and by Email. We are glad you had a good time and hope you make it back again one day. Kindest regards Neil and Tracy Scott August 2016

Excellent property with welcoming hosts

Property as described and Neil and Tracy were very welcoming and helpful. The welcoming pack was beyond anything that we have had before. The property was very clean and well maintained and would certainly recommend to others. Would definitely return.

Owner's Response: Dear Lyn and Neil Thank you very much for your great review, it was lovely having you here and what an end to the holiday with the forest fire a mile away, we went back the next day and saw the damage, amazing the fire planes and brigade managed to get it put out so quickly, that and the weather we were lucky I think. Just goes to show living in a national park has its consequences. We do hope you will manage to come back and would like to wish you both all the best for your joint retirement. We will still be here and you will be made most welcome if you decide to return. Kindest regards and thank you for choosing us to stay with us. Neil and Tracy Scott

Lovely Apartment, lovely owners!

  • 5 of 5

Property was exactly as described and exactly how it looks in the photo's....clean, superbly maintained and Neil and Tracy could not have been more helpful and they both provided excellent information about the area and the best routes to wherever we were going if we asked them.

We were visited by Boris on a daily basis during our second week, but we think that the bribe of treat cat biscuits may have had something to do with that!

We are definitely planning a return visit! The whole experience and our holiday needs to be repeated and enhanced where possible. We had a great time!

Owner's Response: It was great having you both here and what a fantastic difference it made to Shirley climbing up to the pool over the two weeks. We were worried she wouldn't be able to take the full benefit of the terrace and pool and it was great to see how fit she became. Always glad to have a natter with you and we really hope you can come back some day. Boris and Fester will still be here and no doubt be popping in they always remember return guests funny the way cats are so snobby at first then love you to death. Well we glad you made it back on that long drive and please keep in touch.via the Facebook page we post all the new items of interest there. Best regards to you north and thank you for choosing g us to stay with us and it was no problem whatsoever ever helping Shirley. Love to you both Neil and Tracy July. 2016

Olivella Apartment and nearby atractions

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying in Olivella. The apartment is lovely, with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The 'welcome food' in the fridge was a nice touch, and the Cava went down a treat! Not keen on the steep narrow metal steps up to the terrace, but once there it was private with lovely views. Lots of amazing places to visit. Thought Sitges was interesting, and has a great sandy beach, loved the L'Ebre Delta with it's paddy fields and flamingoes (!), and going into Barcelona on the train from Sitges was easy and fun!

Thanks to Tracy and Neil for making us so welcome.

Owner's Response: Hi Donna and Mike Thanks so much for the review and were really glad you had a lovely time here in Oilvella and enjoyed your holiday, It is such a special area and I don't know if you saw it but it was featured in Channel 4's programme last week A Place in the Sun as one of the most expensive and beautiful places to live in Spain, Properties under the 200K mark just don't exist here!! Anyway I'm sorry about the terrace staircase, I agree it it is a little narrow but when permission was granted the council dictated the steps could be no wider than the existing planters that are there, stupid really but we have to abide by the rules as we get inspected, they are about 5 cm shorter than normal steps but it can make it seem a little narrow (Just drink a little bit more red wine and they wont even seem they are there!) It was a pleasure having you here and thanks for leaving the apartment so clean and tidy. You are very welcome to stay again and we do offer returning discounts Kindest regards Neil and Tracy

Location

From the Owner

We bought this house here as we needed a large house for our family to visit and we wanted a nice private garden with an apartment below the main house. We loved the mountain views and the drive up through the vineyards from Sitges, The vines change colour all year and you see them changing from thin brown stalks in winter through to lime green leaves bursting in Spring to vines full of grapes in August and then burning reds and oranges in Autumn after the harvest takes place. To drive down to Sitges every morning to work and as you go up that last hill into the town the Azure blue Mediterranean and the Sun rising is there on the horizon in front of you, it just brings a wonderful smile to your face. It truly is a beautiful place to live, play and work and hope you will enjoy it
