About this property

Luxury Villa - Nature, 14 Guests, Pool & SPA, Free Cook, Free Wine, Free Beach

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This splendid villa is found on an organic farming estate boasting some of the loveliest countryside in Marche and wonderful views. The property is surrounded by vineyards and is reached by a private country lane lined with a mix of cypresses, olives, mulberry trees and oaks. The villa is close to three national parks, Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, Maiella and the Monti Sibillini, together providing almost 3,000 sq km of uncontaminated countryside and wildlife. Views from the property take all of these parks and the mountains of Abruzzo, Marche-Umbria and Lazio. Very close there are towns and cities of great cultural, historical importance and beauty - with historical figures and legends: St Francis of Assisi, the mythical Sybil, Guerrin Meschino, painter Raffael and poet Giacomo Leopardi. Photovoltaic panels produce electricity, solar panel hot water and there is a rainwater collection tank. We are green friends.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA

THE GARDEN - There is a large country garden (more than 50.000 square feet) with a splendid view of the hills with vineyard, the olive trees groves and the mountains; inside the garden the heated (from April to May and form September to October) swimming pool (12,5 x 4,5 mt.) with whirlpool and waterfall, the glass house with jacuzzi (for 6 persons) and relax and massage area. From the garden you can reach the cave under the villa where there is a sauna with a chromoterapy shower.
In the garden you have very ancient olive trees that with their large foliage give a shadow under which to relax and dream.
There are many gazebos made of climbing vines under which to eat, play and rest by sunbathing around the pool. The gazebos are both near the pool and blocks; in those isolated privacy is guaranteed to make a nap or reflect on the beauty of life.
Next to the swimming pool there is a bar with fridge that you can use to drink something cold around or inside the pool.
The garden is very big and you have a small wood that hides comfortable hammocks , many cypresses and fruit trees too, the vegetable garden (with tomatoes, zucchini, aubergines, salad and other vegetable) and the herbs garden (chilli pepper, sage, basil, parsley and rosemary).
A footpath starts from the garden; it runs inside the olive trees grove and down to the small river that surround the estate.
The garden starts from the large covered patio of the villa and is a unique body with it, with the glass house and with the sauna area.
A part of the patio (the west one) can be closed during the less hot periods. In those period there is a kind of winter garden heated that connect the villa with the glass house and this winter garden system is very large and comfortable; basically it is an unique open area of 2.800 square feet (all heated) that includes the glass house, the western patio and the ground floor of the villa.
This winter garden is completely immersed in nature and surrounded by centuries-old olive trees; it enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding hills, vineyards and mountains.
The fabulous winter garden with the massage area and the relaxation area will make you live the autumn and early spring periods with the same warmth and the same pleasure of the summer and always immersed in nature.
on the patio of the villa, in the large garden, in the isolated patios covered by vine plants and around the pool there are all kinds of outdoor furniture (in wood) that can be used; there are also outdoor armchairs and sofas, equipped lounges and the bar near the pool.

THE VILLA - It is very beautiful, very comfortable and very large.
Everything inside is of high quality; antique furniture and modern design give the villa a strong personality.
Every detail is carefully chosen: ancient Berber carpets; nineteenth-century furniture of the country manor villas, lamps of Artemide and Flos; tables by Carlo Scarpa and Cassina; armchairs by Le Corbousier.
The same structure of the villa, revisited by a prestigious architect, is creative.
The ground floor is a large open space of 1.600 sq. feet in which there is the professional kitchen area with everything you might need, the dining area with the large Carlo Scarpa table, three sitting areas and the billiards; three fire places can create a warm atmosfere during the not hot seasons. The surface of the ground floor becomes almost double with the covered patio where you normally have the big summer lunches.
Six large bedrooms, with their bathrooms, can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people.
The photos can describe better than the words how rich and comfortable are those bedrooms.
In the villa there is free wifi, flat 42" smart television set, stereo system and all up to date electronic devices.
There is a library of books and DVD.
You will have washing machine and dryer; two dish washers; two fridge; a professional oven with 5 pans with induction and steam cooking and a normal oven; there is also a microwave oven; ice machine, all kinds of pans, pressure cooker, mixer, Kitchen Aid equipment and so on
Children are welcome and some games for children are available.

Relaxing Stay in Beautiful Setting for Large Group
We had an amazing time in Carlo's villa as a family of 11 adults. It has lots of facilities to make for a relaxing week. The rooms were very comfortable. Carlo was very friendly and communicative and helped us settle in and book a couple of excursions. The beach sunbeds were also great. Miguel cooked for us during the week. He is an exceptionally talented cook and was very accommodating of our varied preferences across the group. We hope very much to return one day :-)

wonderful holiday
If one seeks to have a wonderful family vacation, then one shall opt for Carlo's villa: impeccably clean, comfortable, kid friendly, with unlimited supply of the first class wine, prepaid places at the beach - everything ones needs to spend time in Italian paradise. Our group consisted of five kids and six grown ups. Nobody wanted to leave the place after two weeks. Carlo is a great host, always ready to help and advice. And finally: Marche is Tuscany with the beautiful sea. Carlo thank you!

The house with no name.
It has to be said that the first time that you drive to the house with no name, you might think that you have taken the wrong turning! The road is a track, but don’t worry, it is being improved! Follow the instructions – you’ll be fine. Four of us, two couples , rented Carlo’s house this Spring knowing that it would be too big for us, but we liked the look of the place on Owners Direct, and got more information by emailing Carlo. Even his emails have a lovely Italian accent! The setting of the house is magnificent. Surrounded by picturesque rolling hills, neat vineyards, olive groves and grassland. Every hilltop has a dwelling perched on top: farmhouses, private houses and a few holiday homes. In the distance, the Gran Sasso, a spectacular mountain range, still covered in snow in May, and a wonderful sight at dawn and dusk. A fresh country loaf, a whole local cheese and a cold bottle of Prosecco were on the table to welcome us. The house is an old stone farmhouse, full of cool Italian design. The huge living space has an eclectic mix of antique and modern, with a superb kitchen. The upper floors are slung on a huge brightly painted girder, with smart bedrooms and bathrooms. Style and imagination abound: wooden or tiled floors and quality linen and towels. We ate our meals on the big terrace looking at the wonderful views. The pool is close to the house and is checked daily by Marino who doesn’t speak English, but who smiles a lot! The pièce de resistance was the cantina underneath the terrace. Four gleaming steel barrels: red, rosé and white wines and beautiful olive oil, all produced nearby, and literally on tap, so to speak! Halfway through dinner, one of us would wander down, empty carafe in hand for a re-fill. What a treat! The only disadvantage of the house is that there is no shop or restaurant within walking distance, so we chose to bypass the local village and drove 20 minutes down to the coast where there are restaurants and decent supermarkets. We collected Carlo’s bikes from his friend’s beach restaurant and cycled for miles along the coastal cycle path, working up an appetite for fresh fish and more Prosecco. We found a little gem in Via Catullo in San Benedetto - a tiny restaurant (un ristorantino) called Amarcord. Five or six interesting courses for an extremely modest price - great value and a recommended experience. Altogether, a great week in a stylish home in a beautiful location. Perfetto!! best family holiday ever
We can not praise this villa enough. We were a family of 8 adults 2 children 2 babies and a dog and there was ample space for all. The villa had a most picturesque outlook and being situated at the end of a long lane, very quiet. It had everything we could want - lovely clean pool with ample sun beds, jacquzi, gardens, plenty of terracing for outdoor dining and delicious wine and olive oil on tap! The host Carlo was exceptionally helpful and friendly. He provided us with a wonderful cook who served us 2 exquisite meals in the villa. All in all a superb family holiday. Thanks again Carlo.

About the host

Hosted by Carlo Cicconi

Host profile image
I like very much country life with a touch of comfort and pampering. My villa is immediately your home even if you stay only a week. I like relax and privacy and you will find them. My astrological sign is the Sagittarius; my house is a Sagittarius: open and ready to fly. The sun will welcome you just from the wall of the house. The moon will remember you that the life has a secret side too. I worked hard and I learned that there are other things too: travels, knowledge, life!

Why they chose this property

It was a very nice place with a wonderful and relaxing landscape.

What makes this property unique

I especially enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, I could stay hours outdoor just looking trees and plants or reading beneath olive threes lying on my hammock.... in every season ...
