This fabulous property, spread over two storeys on The Hacienda Del Alamo Golf Resort, is well furnished and comfortable. With its three bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge, this fully air-conditioned, high ceiling villa is spacious and light. It has the largest private pool on the Resort, full-sized sand volleyball/badminton court, table tennis table, PS2 and games, flat screen TV and DVD player. Outside there is an Australian gas BBQ and plenty of space for outside dining with 2 sets of tables and chairs, enough to seat 10 people and 6 sun loungers, all of top quality. The villa is situated just behind the academy and practice areas and therefore only a couple of minutes walk to all amenities including the 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, 5 star hotel and Spanish Village. This is the ideal villa for families or a group of golfers.

About Floss Cramp

La Casa del Barco ("The Boat House") was bought off plan by the Cramp family and since its completion we have stayed here every summer and most half-term holidays. We moved from our home in Kent to the Middle East 6 years ago and hence can't use the Villa as much as we used to, so we thought others might like to enjoy our second home in the sun.

As our second home, The Boat House is furnished as such, with plenty of kitchen accessories; plus TV, DVD, PS2 and games; and outside there is a table-tennis table and volleyball court, which also doubles as a sand-pit for the littlies!

Named The Boat House after installing an old fishing boat in the front garden, The Boat House has become a well-known landmark in the Resort and is a fabulous villa with stunning garden and pool - enjoy!

Why Floss Cramp chose Cartagena & Mar Menor

We had been visiting the Murcia region for several years before buying our Villa, so decided to buy when this Resort was still in the planning stage. Hacienda del Alamo is truly the most stunning resort in the area, with all the villas built in different styles, so no "big brother" feeling here! The Boat House has a huge corner plot, so a feeling of space and privacy abounds, with our nearest neighbour some metres away. It is a very friendly Resort where we have met some life-long friends. New motorways mean that everywhere is now easily accessible, even the mountains of Sierra Nevada. While the surrounding area is very rural, the local town of Fuente Alamo has plenty of restaurants and bars and the local people are always happy to help with our limited Spanish!

What makes this villa unique

In one of the most convenient locations, The Boat House backs on to the Golf Academy, including practice putting green, driving range and coaching area. There is also a small bar/cafe. Just out of the back gate and a 2 minute walk is the Clubhouse (with cafe/bar/restaurant and a la carte restaurant), 18 hole golf course and brand new 5* Hotel. A 2 minute drive is the Sports Centre with tennis courts, paddle tennis, bowls and football/rugby pitch. The Spaniard Inn, the Resort's very own "local pub" is open every night and they also have themed evenings during the summer months.

Notes on accommodation: The property is air-conditioned throughout (with heating for cooler months). There is a non-smoking policy. Outside: A covered terrace to the back of the property provides shade, as does the pergola situated over the dining terrace, where there is a dining table and 6 chairs. There is an additional table with 4 chairs on the back terrace. Within the 1200m of landscaped gardens there are extensive terraces surrounding the huge private 12m x 6m pool, plus a decking area for sun-bathing away from the water. Other facilities include an Australian Gas BBQ, 6 sun loungers, full-sized sand Volleyball/Badminton court (which can also be used for smaller children wanting to play in the sand), a table-tennis table and an outdoor shower. Plus of course there is the famous "boat" in the front garden (hence the name "The Boat House") - a well-known landmark within the resort. Utility Room: Outdoor utility area for hanging laundry, etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. Mid stay cleaning can be arranged at extra cost if required Pool towels available at extra cost if required. Other: Dining area with solid oak dining table and 6 chairs, oak dresser and glass/oak cabinet.

We have just returned back from the most fantastic 2 week holiday in this gorgeous villa, the villa itself is out of this world as is the outside space, which was perfect for our two very active boys (age 7 & 4). Every evening we would have volleyball matches and every lunchtime we would have table tennis matches in between all the swimming, the swimming pool itself was by far the largest we have ever had in a rented villa and we rent villas every year for our holidays. Customers should note that you do definitely need a car, we very nearly chose not to hire one, but it is an essential part of staying in this area, other than the clubhouse and bar, everything else is a drive away. The only bad side to this villa is that it is so amazing you don't actually want to go anywhere!!!!! We stayed in nearly the entire 2 weeks other than to visit the beach twice and do a shop every now and then so that we could cook on the massive gas BBQ, which did run out of gas on day 2, we contacted the guy in charge of looking after the villa and he arrived within 20 minutes with a brand new one - which you cant fault at all and we couldn't thank him enough as we had two very hungry boys after all the swimming! To sum it all up (and this is difficult because I could go on and on about this lovely villa) it is perfect for families just wanting to get away and relax - highly recommended, in fact we may just book it again for next year!!!

Outstanding Villa

As a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys the villa was perfect. The pool was easily the largest of any villa we have stayed in and provided hours of fun. This plus volleyball, table tennis and the wonderful surroundings meant we spent most of our time at the villa. Hope to return.

Fantastic, relaxing villa

We stayed at the boat house for 7 nights, family of 4. It was exactly what we wanted & more. The pool was where we spent most our time, from morning til night! Kids really loved it! Loved the upstairs sun terrace also.

The badminton court, as well as the ping pong table kept the kids & my husband amused throughout our stay.

I loved the location of the villa being the corner plot & not being over looked either! The weather in june was fantastic which made our holiday even better.
