About the property

4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage just a quick stroll from shops, pubs and restaurants

Turnstones enjoys a fabulous position high above Boscastle Harbour, and has one of the most dramatic views in North Cornwall. This traditional cottage has been lovingly restored and modernised in sympathy with its age and history. It has many original features including stripped wooden floors and a wood burning stove. With four bedrooms, a sitting room, separate dining room, kitchen, bathroom, additional shower/WC and utility room - plus parking for two cars - Turnstones is perfect for families or small groups of friends. The cottage comfortably accommodates up to seven plus a baby. Step outside and you are on the coastal path, making this an idyllic location for walkers, bird watchers and artists. A two minute walk takes you into Boscastle village, with its many shops, cafes and pubs. Some of North Cornwall's most dramatic beaches and coves are a short drive away, as are the attractions of Padstow, Rock and Bodmin Moor.

About Louise Vosper

Hello,

We are the Vosper family. After staying at Penally Terrace for three years running we were lucky enough to purchase our dream cottage in 2010. This is very much a home for us and we hope this is reflected in the cosy decor and furnishings. We and our families visit as often as we can and we let the cottage at certain times for others to enjoy.

Thanks for looking.

Why Louise Vosper chose North Cornwall

Having visited various places in Devon and Cornwall over a number of years, we found we kept coming back to Boscastle.

It really is a stunningly beautiful place and Turnstones sits in one of the most magical locations.

We love the walks and the drama of the coastline. However, you are never far from a pub, restaurant or shop which means it is possible to spend a week without venturing out in the car.

Our children adore the beaches of course. There are so many that we still haven't discovered them all.

And all this within 4.5 hours drive from London!

What makes this cottage unique

The views over Boscastle Harbour from the terrace - virtually unrivalled in the village.

3 minute walk to shops and restaurants - no getting in the car to get provisions.

The South West Coastal path - right outside your front door and leading to the most spectacular scenery in North Cornwall.

The cottage is modernised and refurbished in sympathy with its age and character. It retains many original and unusual features including a kitchen and bathroom hand built from reclaimed timbers.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We had a fantastic time at Turnstones such an amazing place! We were obviously lucky with the weather and would have loved to have spent every minute on the terrace (the best in Boscastle - really secluded and private) but thought we'd better do some walking and exploring. There are some fab walks in and around Boscastle and the walk from Tintagel to Boscastle is stunning." A. Lord. 2010

"Another wonderful stay at Turnstones. Counting the months until we can come back!" the Gillards, 2012

"Wow, what a fantastic place. Beautifully furnished and in a stunning location. Couldn't have asked for more. Can't wait to come back." G. Bryant. 2011

"So glad we have found Turnstones. It ticks all the boxes for comfort, location, food, walks and sunshine. We will be back for a third visit." L. Fletcher. 2011

Best location in Boscastle!

  • 5 of 5

Boscastle is such a special little village, so friendly & welcoming and the location of Turnstones cottage is simply amazing. Situated almost at the end of the harbour, one of the highlights was the secluded little terrace overlooking the water where we could watch all the comings and goings. We had an amazing week of beautiful weather and walked every day in every direction! The walking is great for the serious hiker but there are shorter walks for those just looking to get out for an hour or to take a spot on the rocks at the harbour mouth to watch the blowhole at low tide!

We arranged a supermarket delivery shortly after our arrival and then "topped up" with essentials at the local bakery and village stores, so hardly needed to venture out in the car. There are several good pubs and eating places, all of which offer excellent food, much of it locally sourced and delicious!

The cottage has everything you need and really feels like a home rather than a holiday let - a few passers-by said how lucky we were to live there and I must admit sometimes we didn't correct them!! It is tastefully decorated and the owners have retained lots of character with beautiful exposed beams and wooden floorboards. Although we had great weather and spent a lot of time outdoors I can imagine that the cottage would be extremely cosy in cooler months and would happily return at any time of the year.

Can't wait to return and would recommend to those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life - don't expect much mobile phone signal if any, but that was absolute bliss!!
