Cottage in Seahouses, Northumberland, England - Peaceful Location, Close to Harbour and Beaches

Seaside House, ideally located on the outskirts of Seahouses, recently decorated and refurbished, this tastefully decorated property benefits from a peaceful location, yet within walking distance of the harbour, beaches, golf club, and the village with it's many pubs, restaurants and shops. At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from the harbour. The stunning Bamburgh castle and it's beautiful beach is only 3 mile away, and the historic market town of Alnwick, with it's majestic gardens and castle (used in many movies including Harry Potter), is only a short drive. The heritage coastline is dotted with more castles, beautiful beaches and fishing villages, as well as Holy Island.

The Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National park are also close by, as well as the border towns of Berwick and Coldstream. Newcastle and Edinburgh are also easily accessible. Seaside House is an ideal property to stay, with it's sleeping flexibility, 2 bathrooms upstairs and cloakroom downstairs. Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time after 3pm. Departure time 10am.

WifI available ( £10 per week ) Outside: Rear garden is enclosed and includes large patio with garden furniture. Small decorative garden to the front of property. There are 2 allocated parking places, in a small car park to the right of the property, clearly marked. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property will be immaculately cleaned on arrival. Bedding, towels and heating/hot water are included. Towels for property use only, not to be taken for use on the beach or grass. Please bring own beach towels Other: To the rear of the property, there is an enclosed garden with beautiful natural stone patio, with garden furniture.

Great base for exploring the area

Our party included my husband, son and myself for a short midweek break in April. The property was easy to find, modern, reasonably clean and very well situated on a quiet estate close to the beach. It's a short walk to the local shops, good pubs, restaurants and everything Seahouses has to offer. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen adequate and it's warm and cosy. The small garden would be nice to sit in on a warm evening.

The next door neighbours were on hand to help with any queries or problems which was very comforting. In fact everyone we came in contact with from bar staff to shop assistants were so lovely and helpful it really made for an enjoyable stay.

The beach is beautiful and clean, we walked along to Bamborugh to visit the castle and back again through the dunes. Superb!

Lindisfarne Priory and Castle is worth a visit and also Chillingham Castle was great. The Ship and the Bamborugh Castle Inn are great pubs with sea views.

We crammed a lot into a short time but can't wait to return!

Perfect location, cosy property

First trip to Northumberland and we found Seaside House a very comfortable property equipped with everything you could need. Very well situated for walking into Seahouses and the coastal path and best of all beautifully quiet. Seahouses itself has everything you need and some very nice eateries. We rarely go back to the same place twice but we may make an exception as there was still so much to see and do and this cottage is the perfect base.

Good location

Lovely well equipped house in a quiet but good location and within 10 minutes walk of all the amenities of Seahouses either via the road or along the coastal path. There are lots of places to visit nearby (but you will need a car) and numerous walks to local beaches via the cliff top paths.

Lovely, perfect location, peaceful

We love the north east. It's a beautiful part of our country. The people are friendly, the coast is lovely and you will not find a more beautiful beach anywhere else on earth.

Seaside house is in a perfect location to visit so many wonderful places. Alnwick- the gardens are beautiful even at the end of the season - don't miss the poison garden we take so much for granted!

Holy Island (lindisfarne). Check the tides!!!!!!!!

Seaside House itself is perfectly presented. Warm, welcoming, comfortable and well equipped.

If we visit Northumberland again we will hope this property is available. We loved it here.

Home from home - great stay

Seaside cottage is a hidden gem. We loved it. It is in a nice quiet area a stones throw from a great rock pooling beach. It is easy to walk into seahouses and the neighbours were very friendly and helpful. We all felt very at home in this clean, well equipped cottage and the kids enjoyed the benefit of their own bathroom and tv! We loved it so much we want to go back next year.

Special interest holidays:

Ideal for walking all year round. Ideal for wildlife enthusiasts, a large seal colony and many seabirds, including Puffins make their home on the Farne Islands, which is accessed from Seahouses harbour. Ideal for cyclists, with many cycle paths in or around Seahouses.


Seaside House is approximately 300 yards from the cliff top with walks north and south along miles of beautiful unspoilt coast and beaches.

The village is approximately 600 yards from the property (10 minute walk ).


Seahouses is approximately 50 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and 80 miles south of Edinburgh.


Bamburgh (3 miles), Alnwick (15 miles), Low Newton-by-the Sea (7miles).
