Peaceful Location, 5 Minute Stroll To Village Square Or Praia Grande Beach, Car Not Essential

This fabulous, south facing property has been advertised on Owners Direct since 2010, includes off road parking and is built on three levels. The top level has an impressive lounge with large panoramic picture windows, a fully equipped kitchen, terraces and BBQ. The mid level has two spacious bedrooms, one en-suite and a large family bathroom. A sun lounge leads out to the private pool and mid level terraces. The lower level has another spacious bedroom with twin beds and an adjacent bathroom, garden terrace and patio area. As the property is over three levels and the stairs down from the lounge turn back on themselves with some narrow treads, we consider the property unsuitable for guests with mobility problems and extra care would be needed for very young children.

All of the outdoor patios and terraces are excellent for relaxing and watching the world sail by! Casa Andrea is ideally located being both a five minute stroll to the nearby beaches and to the centre of Ferragudo. Restaurants, bars and shops are all in easy walking distance meaning that you can enjoy your holiday without having to drive. Ferragudo is one of the last remaining unspoilt fishing villages enjoying all the traditions the Algarve has to offer.

About The Owner

We bought Casa Andrea in 2002 and since retiring in 2005 treat it as our home from home. Retirement has given us the opportunity to travel and explore other countries but we always look forward to returning to relax at Casa Andrea. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to enjoy such a wonderful property and hope it will give you as much pleasure. Andrea and Paul.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro at 56 Kilometres Nearest Train : Parchal/Ferragudo at 2.5 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Praia Grande at 100 Metres Car: not necessary


“Angrinha” beach is directly in front of the villa and stretches along the edge of the calm waters of the Arade estuary. The entrance onto the beach offers a level walk past fisherman’s sheds to the village quayside.

“Praia Grande” is the main beach in Ferragudo and because it is within the sea defences the water is usually calm, has bars, restaurants, a children’s playground, volleyball nets and life guards in the summer.

“Praia Pintadinho” and “Praia dos Caneiros” can be reached by bus/car.


The nearest airport is Faro (56kms) and is approximately 45 minutes by taxi / car. Taxi's are readily available at the airport or information on a private transfer can be obtained from the owners.

Lisbon airport is also an options but will require a significantly longer drive (approximately 3 hours).

Directions to Casa Andrea will be provided with the booking confirmation.


Ferragudo restaurants, bars and shops are all in easy walking distance, meaning that you can enjoy your holiday without having to drive.

There is a water taxi service that operates mainly during the summer months and can take you from Ferragudo quayside to either the Marina (Praia do Rocha) on the other side of the estuary or to Portimao quayside.

Many local attractions are available within a short drive.

Further Details:

Ferragudo village has a post office, chemist, butchers, fish market and mini markets as well as numerous coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Changeover days are flexible, as is the length of stay. Arrival and departure times may also be flexible but should be discussed with the owners at the time of booking.

Prices are in Euros and are for the villa per day including all utilities (apart from pool heating which is extra if requested). Stay's of five or six nights may be accepted when there are suitable gaps between existing bookings.

A deposit of 30% will be required to secure a booking. The full rental premium is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. A 300 euro security deposit will be required to be paid with the balance and returned after your holiday, once the villa has been checked for no major breakages or damage caused during your stay.

  • We have a strict NO Smoking Policy within the villa. and unfortunately pets are not allowed. WiFi is available throughout the property. The villa is spacious with plenty of areas to relax either individually or together, both inside and outside. Outside on the upper terrace there is a dinning area that is complimented by an outdoor corner suite. The mid level pool terrace has sun loungers and its own outside table with chairs. Additionally there is more outside seating and a couple of hammocks on the lower patio and garden terrace for your enjoyment. Casa Andrea is accessed via steps that lead down from the off road parking area, through a locked gate onto the villa’s top terrace, where there are garden planters and a BBQ. There is ample seating on this terrace providing commanding views over the famous 17th century Sao Joao do Arada castle, the Arade estuary and beyond. The private pool (8.2 x 3.5 metres) is on the mid level terrace. Pool heating can be requested for an additional charge. External steps lead down from the pool terrace onto a large patio area. From here it is possible to access the garden terrace and the enclosed landscaped garden with it’s wide variety of sub-tropical plants. All of the terraces are suited for peaceful relaxation. You may even be lucky and be amazed by the fantastic sunsets that are often seen later in the day. On the mid level there is a sun lounge leading out to the pool area and mid level terrace. In the sun lounge there is a radio/CD player, a book library, mini-fridge and there are wicker chairs allowing you to relax out of the glare of the midday sun. The cost of the villa rental includes bedlinen, bathroom towels, pool towels, tea towels and the property being prepared for your arrival and a mid week bathroom towel change for weekly bookings. General cleaning products are also included.
