Cottage in Clohars-Carnoët, Quimperlé / Finistere, France - 5 Minutes Drive To Beaches and Shops

1920's renovated farmhouse in a beautiful part of unspoiled Finistère. Large enclosed garden with all-day sun and a swing, on the edge of a forest. Terrace with picnic table, BBQ and lounge chairs. 2 double bedrooms and 1 camp bed. Located on the main road between Clohars-Carnoët and Moëlan-sur-Mer (approx 2km from each) with shops, bars, restaurants, chemist and boulangeries. 5km from fantastic Blue Flag sandy beaches with rock-pools, surf school and sea kayaking. River kayaking and forest with walks 10km away. Sample the local cider and crêpes, then take a stroll along the spectacular coast paths to breathe in the sea air and revive the spirits!

About Yvonne Morrisroe

We bought the old farmhouse at Kersalut in 2005 and spent two years renovating it while also exploring the area and looking after our young family.

Why Yvonne Morrisroe chose Quimper area

After spending family holidays in Brittany as a child, it was always a dream of mine to eventually own a holiday home there. After a lot of hard work and saving (and making it become my husband's ambition too), our dream became a reality.

We chose this part of south Brittany for the ease of access from the UK, the fantastic beaches and cliff walks, the huge variety of things to do from forest walks, river and sea kayaking, exploring the pretty villages and of course the fantastic array of food.

We have loved learning about the local Breton traditions and getting to know the locals, who have been so welcoming.

What makes this cottage unique

One of the biggest benefits of the property is the huge garden, which comes with its own resident owl! Children love it here as they have so much space to run around, and they love the home-made den at the bottom of the garden which was built by our son and his Australian cousins one very happy summer a few years ago. I love being so close to the sea as it reminds me of growing up in a seaside town, it's a real home-from-home, only with better food!

Notes on accommodation: The cottage has electric storage heating in the sitting room and bathroom. Children are very welcome - the garden is always gets a big thumbs-up! The property is enclosed and has a lockable gate. Contact us for more information on pets. Smoking is not allowed in the property. Outside: Mature 2000 sq metre garden with walnut, chestnut and pine trees, bordered by forest. One owl in residence, he'll keep and eye on you. Swing, various garden toys including football, boules and frisbee. Large patio area with picnic table and lounge chairs. Gas BBQ. Rotary washing line. Parasol. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, broom. Garden toys including boules set, football and frisbee. Sun loungers with cushions. Parasol. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Mattress protector and cover sheet provided, 4 housewife pillows for each double bed. 1 pillow & sheet for camp bed. Double and single duvets and other bed linen provided. Bath towels provided. Tea towels provided. Other: Large landing upstairs with garden view from traditional shuttered windows. Full length freestanding mirror. Table and lamp. Armchair. Stairgate at top and bottom of staircase. This is a very pleasant 'quiet' area for reading, playing, Ipod time etc.

Booking Notes:
Email for a booking form, full terms & conditions, and to check availability. 25% deposit is required to secure the booking. Balance is due 60 days prior to travel and a deposit of £250 is required for breakages/extra cleaning. This will be returned 14 working days after departure date. Payment in sterling by cheque/bank transfer/PayPal. Payment also accepted in Euros, please ask for exchange rate.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day Saturday. Check-in time is 4pm, check-out time is 10am. There is some flexibility on this depending on travel arrangements.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in pounds sterling, and include gas and electricity and normal cleaning costs.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
