Cottage in Padstow, Cornwall, set in Private Grounds, Wi-Fi, 4 Minutes walk to Harbour and beaches

This cottage is built in the grounds of what was the old Victorian school. There is a fully enclosed south facing garden to the rear and private parking to the front of the property. There are views of the Camel Estuary from our property and with a short 4 minute walk to the harbour and parking immediately outside the front door everything in and around the Padstow area is easily accessible. You have the choice of either walking, golfing, fishing, surfing, cycling along the camel estuary and beyond or just relaxing around the local beaches nearby. There are also some superb restaurants and shops in the harbour and, of course, Rick Stein sometimes puts in an appearance and you will now see Paul Ainsworth. Further afield you can visit Truro with its beautiful cathedral or the Eden project and the gardens of Heligan, all of which are approximately 45 minutes drive.

Many thanks for a wonderful holiday. The accommodation and facilities are first class and the location couldn't be better for parking and a two minute walk into Padstow.

From here, we managed to get some nice walks along the coast and the reference books/materials were valuable in planning the outing. As we also go to bed at around 10.00 and wake up early, it was blissful, so quiet and peaceful that we didn't get up while late - for us!

Must mean that we were content and relaxed - the perfect holiday and would not hesitate to recommend people to book 9 The Old School Court.

We bought our little bolt hole in this part of Cornwall because we thought it was the best spot on the whole of the Cornish coast. We like this area so much because there is always something to do all year round and life in Padstow doesn't stop even for the winter months. We love the north Cornish coastline and the relaxing feeling when we arrive at the property and look at the estuary ahead. We take a big breath and feel completely relaxed almost immediately.

Coast/Beach:

A walk through Padstow harbour and beyond (approx 15-20 mins) will take you to the nearest beach (Tregirls), otherwise by car you can travel anything from 5-40 minutes depending on which beach you choose. The closest beach by car is Trevone and further on would be Constantine, Harlyn Bay, Treyarnon, Mawgan Porth and on again to the Watergate Bay, Newquay area. All beaches are beautiful sandy beaches and, of course, you can walk the coastal path and appreciate all of them.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Newquay (approx 30 mins) and from there you can take a plane to the Scilly isles. This airport services people wanting to travel from London.

Distances:

The nearest town to Padstow is Wadebridge which would take 10 minutes by car, but alternatively to the city of Truro, the south coast of Cornwall, gardens of Heligan and the Eden project the drive would be almost 45 minutes.

Further Details:

There is a Tesco supermarket only about 10 minutes walk from our property, otherwise all shops, restaurants and leisure activities are available around Padstow harbour.

Our property is great for the parking which is a real bonus especially as we are so near to the harbour so if needed you can spend time at our cottage and not even leave Padstow. Once away from the house we are soon on the main road and not tangled up in queuing traffic.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The property has the advantage of WiFi broadband as well as a CD and DVD player in the lounge. Old School Court is a warm and inviting cottage. You will find it very private and relaxing, without tourists walking past your door. It is possible to have an extra space for parking if more than one car. I am sorry to say that we do not allow pets in the property. Outside: The south facing garden gets the sun all day long. It has all been laid to patio and is positioned on both sides of the property at the rear. There is a garden table and chairs plus umbrella for the summer and further comfortable chairs stored in the shed. A barbeque is also supplied. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are not supplied but the property is cleaned after the guests have left ready for new guests. Other: There is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and toilet situated at the side of the hallway.
