Spinnaker is a delightful comfortable apartment with glimpses of the water from the lounge and kitchen windows, and now a stunning roof terrace. Visitors can go up to the terrace to sit and enjoy views of the town and harbour while still being private and secluded. This is the only apartment in the Galleon Flats complex with any outside space which gives it a unique advantage.

The accommodation has been planned to provide a bright and welcoming space and is fully equipped for visitors to enjoy a relaxing holiday. Wifi, heating, water, gas, electric, Iron/board, linen and towels are included in the rental price - no hidden extras..

Wonderful Weekend Break

We spent a wonderful weekend in this perfect fully equipped apartment. It is perfectly located with lovely views from the roof terrace. The local restaurants, bars and shops were amazing and the fudge at Rolys excellent!

Hidden Gem

Spent a lovely February week here.

Very clean , cosy, all amenities supplied. The excellent roof terrace addition is a perfect south facing spot to sit and view river one side and church the other.

Easy central location with bars and restaurants and boutique style shops on the same road. We would definitely recommend the ferry to Polruan and the Hall walk over the cliffs and amazing views especially Lantic Bay. The walk to Gribben Lighthouse is also worth it.

Location

From the Owner

Having visited Fowey regularly since childhood, my husband and I bought Spinnaker in 1999 as a holiday home, when the property was newly formed as part of six apartments known as Galleon Flats. Since moving to Fowey full time in 2002 the apartment has been a very successful holiday let, with many visitors returning year after year. We have continued to use the apartment ourselves over the years, and still do, firstly because we love it, and secondly to ensure it is comfortable for visitors, there is nothing like first-hand experience!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Fowey Town Quay and harbour is two minutes walk away. The local beaches at Whitehouse and Ready money are a few minutes easy walking along the Esplanade. The coastal footpath to the west starts from the mouth of the harbour about 15 minutes walk from the apartment, and a short ferry crossing to Polruan on the other side of the harbour, starts the coastal path to Polperro and Looe.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Newquay, about 25 miles. The nearest railway station is at Par, approx 4 miles. Busses run hourly between St Austell, Par and Fowey.

Local taxis are available for pick up, pre-booking required. Use of a car is not essential for visitors staying locally in the town, but is necessary to explore further afield.

Distances:

The Eden Project is six miles away, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey, are 12 miles away. The National Trust's Lanhydrock House is about 8 miles, and Padstow on the north coast is about 40 minutes' drive.

The historic port of Charlestown, 7 miles away, is home to a number of tall ships and often featured in films and TV programmes.

Further Details:

Fowey has a number of high quality shops, including a butchers, fish shop, delicatesen, bakery, bookshops and unusual gifts. There is a range of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. Most places remain open all year round to serve local residents and visitors who like to visit Fowey out of the main season.

Booking Notes:
Following your initial enquiry form we will send a link to our booking form if we have a vacancy. A deposit of £75 is required with this form which can be paid by cheque or direct to our bank account. The balance is due 10 days prior to your visit.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday during the high season.
The apartment is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Prices for 2015 currently range from £250 - £620 per week.
A 10% discount is given to returning visitors.
Short breaks are available between October and March, minimum 3 nights.
We offer 3 night weekends, Monday to Friday and 4 night breaks Monday to Friday. Please enquire if you have other requirements as we may have availability.

The apatment is tucked away down a private passageway off the main street - almost a secret location! Once up in the apartment, it is quiet, relaxing, light and airy. A roof terrace has been added from the beginning of 2015 so now visitors can go up to the terrace to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the town and harbour while still being very private and secluded. This is the only one of the Galleon Flats with any outside space which is a huge advantage to the apartment - a real gem in the heart of Fowey.

Notes on bedrooms: The large bedroom gives easy access to a double bed which has bed linen provided and a selection of king sized quilts to suit all seasons. Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation Outside: From January 2015 the apartment now has a stunning roof terrace with lovely views of the harbour and town. A table and two chairs are provided for relaxation and outside dining. The terrace is reached by a set of "alternate tread" stairs from the lounge, this type of staircase is steeper than normal but has two handrails for extra safety. General access to the apartment is via a private shared pathway off the main street in Fowey. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, towels, bath mat and tea towels are provided. These items are changed weekly and visitors staying for more than one week will be provided with a change at the end of each week.
