About the property

2 Bedroom Apartment in Morzine, only a few minutes walking distance to the centre & ski lifts

N.B - We can accommodate short breaks. These generally start or finish on a Saturday, however it is always worth a quick email.

The apartment is located on the top floor with a balcony offering stunning views of Morzine and the Pleney slops. Located close to the center of Morzine with just a short 5 minute stroll down to the village and ski lifts. The apartment has all the facilities to provide an excellent home from home holiday. Snow permitting is also possible to ski to within 50 meters of the front door. Car parking available together with storage facilities for skis.

The main bedroom consists of a double bed with a TV/DVD player, wardrobe & cest of drawers. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a single bed, together with a double wardrobe. The bottom bunk and single bed are adequate for adults.

The lounge consists of two sofa, one of which is a sofa bed TV, DVD and video player. A selection of DVD's and Videos are available. TV transmits English channels.

Hi, My wife and I have been returning to Morzine for over 10 years and finally in 2006 decided to take the plunge and purchase an apartment. We regularly use the apartment ourselves in both summer and winter months and never get tired of all the activities on offer. The apartment wasn't our only addition in 2006 as our daughter was also born that year. She's now 9 and loves Morzine and "our home in France" She has already been on the parc adventure and loves horse riding around the lake in Les Gets and in Morzine.

Why Kevin Porter chose Portes du Soleil area

Morzine and the surroundings areas really do have it all. The Portes Du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world. We have been skiing here every year for over 10 years and still haven't managed to ski all of it. During the summer months the mountains are stunning and if your lucky enough to be in the village when "le tour" passes through then the place is really buzzing.

There are plenty of activities for both adults and children in both the Winter and Summer months. Or you can simply relax on the balcony watching the world and the parascenders float by.

What makes this apartment unique

The location of the apartment was a great attraction to us as it only takes 5 minutes to walk in to the center of town and is just far enough away from the hustle of the town center. The apartment itself is on the top floor with a balcony offering stunning views of Morzine itself, which really sold it to us. As we regularly use the apartment ourselves we try and have all the facilities that one would expect in an apartment and try to keep it as homely and comfortable as possible.

Notes:
Outside: The apartment provides a usable balcony which has a small table and chairs. The building also provides a communal garden area which is directly below the apartment. Utility Room: There is a washing machine provided in a laundry cupboard which is located in the hallway. An ironing board and iron are also provided but why anyone would want to iron on holiday beats me! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is included however towels are not. The apartment is cleaned before and after each letting. Other: Also available in the apartment is a number of board games, PlayStation games, books, video's and DVDs. There is also a cot and a baby bumble seat. On the ground floor there is both a secure ski locker and ski cave.

A nicely kept well equipped apartment. Lots of pans and ovenware for cooking. Convenient for lifts and shops. The wifi worked well. All in all a good apartment.

Location

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Although there is no beach as such near by in the summer months there are two lakes close by. The first of which is in Les Gets and the second just above Montriond. Both are excellent for swimming and bathing. We are also only 30mins drive to Lac Lemen (Lake Geneva) where there are small beaches and water activities.

Travel:

The closet airport is Geneva which is approximately 1hr 15mins away. Lyon and Grenoble Airport are a two hour drive as is Chambery Airport.

Calais is an 8/9 hour steady drive.

Car hire recommended in summer for sightseeing but not essential. Transfers readily available in winter and car hire not necessary.

Further Details:

The village of Morzine itself is no more than 5 minutes walk down the hill. It takes slightly longer walking back. One of the supermarkets is within 5 mins walking distance at the bottom of the road. Morzine itself offers a full range of activities from the relaxing to the extreme. Morzine also provides a perfect base for sightseeing around the area when the weather is suitable. Please visit the tourist office for a full list of places to see and visit.

A 25% deposit will be required to confirm a booking with the balance payable 10 weeks before the holiday start date. Payment will be in UK pounds at the quoted rate. Please note that there will be an additional £250 security deposit required when paying the final balance which will be fully refunded if the property is left in a satisfactory condition.

Changeover Day:
For 2016/2017 the change over will be Saturday, however we will try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. Guests are requested to vacate the apartment by 10am. New guests can check in from 4pm.
