This duplex penthouse sea-facing apartment is within the very popular & quiet Ferrera Park complex, with beautiful views of the sea within a picturesque bay. There is a communal swimming pool, and direct access to the sea within this small and friendly complex. There are two beaches within a 3 minute walk of the apartment. Many shops, restaurants and other facilities are within a couple of minutes walk. Cala d'Or centre is a 15 minute leisurely stroll away. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, and benefits from a large terrace with sea view. There is access to the pool, sunbathing and the sea. There are many beaches within reach on foot, by tourist land-train, or by car for some further afield. Other nearby facilities include golf at the excellent Val d'Or golf club (15 minute drive), and many island attractions including the famous Caves of Drach (25 minute drive). We have enjoyed 40 years of holidaying here with the family and can make many recommendations to benefit your visit.

We are British owners, and this penthouse apartment has belonged to our family for almost 40 years. We love the apartment and return several times a year to enjoy not only the sun but the breathtaking views of the sea and coast from the apartment's lounge and terrace.

We can not only reserve your holiday accommodation for you, but also your taxi to and from the airport. We have a British manager living in the area, just a phone call away if you need any information, or assistance during your stay.

There's so much to do in the area or not to do, if you just simply want to recharge and enjoy the sunshine.

Images don't do this property justice as it's main feature is it's location front line overlooking the beautiful cala,it epitomises "sea view".The property itself hosts every feature we needed and more besides and the owner clearly takes great care in it's presentation and client comfort and overall satisfaction.Close to all amenities,shops, restaurants,cafes and a short walk into Cala D'Or.Delightful !!

Location

The position of this penthouse apartment is fantastic. In fact properties as close to the sea, as this one, cannot legally be built any more. The apartment is spacious, airy and situated in a private residential complex. It is within walking distance of all amenities. Transport is definitely not needed, but would be a fab way of seeing the island.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The sea is just 100 paces from the apartment, where you can enter and exit with steps attached to the rock bay. The beach in the bay is less than 5 minutes walk away.

There are numerous other local beaches within easy reach. Other local beaches include Cala Azul, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Gran, Cala d’Or, Cala des Pou (known locally as Es Forti) and Cala Egos. A short drive away 10 minutes)is Cala Mondrago, and Cala Sa Nau, both popular with the locals.

Travel:

The airport in Mallorca is Palma Airport. It is 63km and a journey of approximately 50 mins to the apartment in Cala Ferrera. A standard taxi would cost in the region of 60 Euros

Distances:

There are many local shops and restaurants, children's play area, cashpoints, internet hot-spots within easy reach of the apartment. There is everything you need in the way of typical facilities within a short walk. Cala d'Or, the main town is a 15 min leisurely stroll away from the apartment. There is a cashpoint at the local supermarket. Medical services are also within a 2 or 3 minute walk. At the local supermarket there is a stop for the local tourist mini-train which tours the local area.

Further Details:

There is a marina at Cala d'Or which is well worth a visit for great restaurants and wandering the marina admiring the boats.

There is a boat tour that leaves nearby the apartment which takes you along the coast visiting Cala Figuera, the National Park beach of Cala Mondrago and other beautiful places. A local bus can take you into Palma for the day and local car hire/money exchange places can organise trips to many of Mallorca's attractions.

A day out to Aqualand one of the islands water parks is a great day for the children and adults alike. Reception Office at the complex offers various information about the area and Mallorca in general with a population of over 300,000, Palma is the only real city of the Balearics yet its slow pace of life is quite distinct from the Spanish cities of the mainland. The centrepiece of its beautiful historic quarter with grand Renaissance mansions and Baroque churches is its Gothic cathedral which took over 500 years to build and as an attraction compares favourably with the better known cathedrals of Spain. Most of the main sights of Palma are contained within the city walls and it's easy to explore on foot. If you can be there after nightfall it is a spectacular sight to see the floodlit Cathedral and the Almudaina Palace from the waterfront. As well as the historical interest of Old Palma there is also good shopping for the day visitor and a pleasant café culture to enjoy.

Mallorca has some spectacular caves at various locations around the island. Probably the most spectacular are the Caves of Drach (Coves del Drach) at Portocristo. Today they represent one of the island's top attractions in which four spectacular chambers with thousands of stalactites are made even more impressive by the top quality lighting arrangements. A mini concert takes place on one of the underground lakes and visitors can take a boat ride steered by a gondolier at the end of the visit.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is suitable for children. Requests for cots, highchairs and other requirements can be met where required - and we can recommend a local company who hire good quality equipment. Ferrera Park has a private car park available for the use of guests, which will require a barrier key, should you be hiring a car. The apartment is not however suitable for guests with walking difficulties due to the amount of steps. Outside: Ferrera Park is a highly sought after complex for holiday rentals in this area, and is a very good quality location in all respects. The apartment itself has a large terrace with table and chairs, sun loungers, cold shower and built in BBQ. The gardens in the complex are private and very well maintained. The communal swimming pool is for the use of guests staying within the complex. It has shallow and deep ends. It is a relatively small pool of approximately 18x8m at its widest. The pool is surrounded by a paved area for sunbathing and, if required, observation of your children. There is direct access to the sea with ladders from the rock bay and sunbathing areas incorporated on the outcrop. The beaches in the bay are within a short walk or swim. Utility Room: Large fridge/freezer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included and a change of laundry once within a two week rental. Other: Dining area with table and six chairs.
