Cottage in East Cowes, Isle of Wight - Modern Interior With Nautical Flavour, Right On The Water's Edge & Central, Easy Access To Shops

Aisla Cottage is a sea-front property at the mouth of The River Medina. The interior features a nautical theme. On the ground floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom; the Master Bedroom has a double bed and ample storage and the second bedroom has bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath and an electric shower. Aisla Cottage sleeps 4 comfortably but has a double sofa-bed upstairs to add flexibility to sleeping arrangements (so could sleep 6). The Living Room is upstairs as is the kitchen. 2 balconies offer beautiful views of the River Medina and The Solent and on one of them is a table & chairs. The Kitchen is well equipped with Oven, Hob, Extractor Fan, Fridge, Microwave, Washing Machine, Toaster, Kettle, Crockery, wall-mounted flat-screen TV with Freeview, as well as some books and games. Nearby Aisla Cottage is UKSA, so if you fancy teaching the kids to sail one summer or would like to do your Yachmaster Course then Aisla Cottage is be the perfect spot to stay.

Outside: The property is on the waterfront and has a graveled dinghy park. There is a communal BBQ available on a first come first served basis. The property is next to the chain ferry linking East and West Cowes. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean linen and towels are available on arrival.

Lovely cottage excellent base at IoW

We really enjoyed our short stay in the island and at this property. It has excellent location being just right next to the Red Funnel ferry terminal. Convenient to local restaurants and takeaway and Waitrose is just a walking distance. Osborne House is also very close by and good road links by car to other places around the island. Cottage has a lovely view of the sea and is very clean and tidy and has all you need for a nice holiday. Jean is very responsive and communicates well so no problem overall. Would recommend and would love to come back. Thank you Jean!

Special interest holidays:

Perfect spot for people who like fishing - what better than to cast your line from the sea-wall at the property for an easy catch.

Kids can throw a crab line into the water too and have endless hours of fun (young children obviously need to be supervised doing this activity). One of our young visitors caught a sea-bass on a crab-line at the property.


The property is right on the waterfront and you can fish from the sea wall. The nearest sandy beach is Ryde, which is about a 15 minute drive. Gurnard Beach, which is a gravel beach with strong currents - great for surfing, is about a 15 minute walk and has a nice beach side cafe. Water taxis are also available within walking distance from the property.


The property is within walking distance of the Red Funnel Ferry Terminal in East Cowes (which comes in from Southampton). It is next to the chain ferry and is close to public transport to take you to most key places around the island.


The English Heritage site of Osborne House, which was Queen Victoria's residence, is about a 12 minute walk or short drive from the house. The Folly Inn is less than a five minute drive and is on the waterfront, serving wonderful food and has entertainment during the high season. Cowes High Street is five minutes away via the free floating bridge for foot passengers and has a myriad of shops, restaurants, pubs and harbour.

Booking Notes:
No booking will be valid unless a completed, signed booking form and deposits have been received. A security deposit of £150 and a rental deposit of £100 per week will be due at the time of booking. Full rental payment is due 6 weeks prior to the start date of the booking. The security deposit will be returned within 2 weeks of the end of the booking period, subject to the condition of the rental property and contents.

Departure is at 10.30am and entry is at 2.30pm (to allow for cleaning).

Cancellations less than 30 days before arrival will mean that deposit is forfeited.
