This beautiful villa is situated outside the medieval village of Correns in the Var and is considered to be one of the most sought after villages in Provence. Keeping Correns company nearby are the lovely villages of Cotignac, Carces Villecroze, Tourtour and many others, all hosting typical provencal farmers markets. Our villa, La Toscane, is built of old stone around a courtyard with the pool as its focal point. The property extends to some 10 acres, mostly with rosemary and wild thyme underfoot and there are wonderful views across the valley of the River Argens. The house is ideal for families of all sizes - the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and most lead out to the pool and patios. The salon is equipped with Sky TV and adjoins the dining room and bibliotheque where we have a business centre with WIFI, fax and photocopier. The kitchen has modern appliances with American fridge freezer.The cuisine d'ete has its own 12 seat dining table, Wine Fridge and deluxe Weber barbecue and pizza oven. External night lighting so guests can enjoy superb evenings "alfresco". All Bedlinen and Towels are supplied. Ample Parking. Access is via typical provencal lane suitable for normal cars and vans.

There are many ways of crossing the Channel without having to go through Calais. Driving through Rural France is a delightful experience and there are also regular flights to Nice , Marseille and Nimes from Britain's major airports. Alternatively, the Eurostar from St Pancras to Marseille is a real relaxing joy to behold.

About the Owner

We have been renting out La Toscane since we bought the villa 17 years ago. Margaret is a Freelance Artist and I was formerly involved in the Hotel Business in Fort William Scotland as well as having interests in the Whisky Business where we produced "Dew of Ben Nevis".

Whilst Margaret is a Scots Lassie, Peter is of Canadian origin having also lived in beautiful Vancouver, BC.

Travel is our passion and we love Sailing and Skiing.

Idyllic Holiday Destination

My wife and I spent a delightful week at La Toscane in September.

We were greeted warmly by Peter and Margaret, given a detailed conducted tour of the beautiful apartment, including a superbly provisioned kitchen, and told of some of the many places nearby that were visit-worthy.

The property is immaculately clean and tidy, with instructions available for all of the equipment.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday in a beautiful part of country France.

La Toscane

"Just wonderful!"

Our family has spent a week in La Toscane every summer the last few years. Peter and Margaret are very kind and hospitable and it is a pleasure to see them every year. The property is just marvellous with a lot of space and an excellent pool. We have been 8-9 people every time. Last summer the age range was between 1 and 67 years. Besides sun-bathing and swimming some of us use the steep slopes outside the site for walking or running upphill and downhill– rather strenouos but hopefully healthful. Otherwise we spend quite a lot of time eating good meals and drinking good wines, where the process include planning, shopping, cooking, eating and cleaning up. The barbecue kitchen is a very important part of the cooking. We can strongly recommend this wonderful property to anyone who loves Provence.

Perfect Provence

We spent a wonderful week in Peter and Margaret's fabulous mas in Provence. La Toscane is a very well-appointed and extremely spacious property, accommodating our party of eleven with ease. We had no young children with us (but an engagement announced!) but the shallow end of the pool would have catered well for them. Care would have to be taken with the inevitable wasps and mosquitoes, however, which tend to gather around the edges of the water. Our hosts had thoughtfully provided industrial-sized outdoor sprays which helped. The pool itself was excellent and required no care whatsoever; likewise the table tennis table and the boules area. Our American friends were most impressed with the barbecue kitchen, which we used regularly. Our age-range was from 27 to 89, and all were very happy with the amount of sunny and shady areas. It was our Philadelphians' first visit to the South of France and they adored it, in no small measure thanks to the loveliness and comfort of La Toscane. We very much hope to return one day. Oh, and incidentally my husband and I have been coming to this area of Provence for more than 40 years, way before Brad and Angelina. They have excellent taste!

Superb Accomodation

A fantastic property in a wonderful location, providing everything necessary for a fabulous stay. Peter and Margaret were excellent hosts and there property is stunning . Beautifully furnished with a excellent pool terrace area. A car is a necessity as the property is located outside of the village but is in an idyllic position.

would not hesitate in recommending this property to any prospective renters. You will not be disappointed as its even better than the photographs.

This is a beautiful Farmhouse type villa and we love it because it has flexibility in its accomodation and lay-out. By closing off the East Wing, the villa can be rented as a Large 2BR Or Alternatively, rooms can be opened up as required, making it an ideal property for small, medium or large groups or families.

Because La Toscane is enclosed in a Hacienda style with the Pool a focal point, peace and Tranquility can be enjoyed at all times. Situated amid 10 acres of Parkland, there is plenty of space to roam. When the villa is rented, the owners Peter and Margaret stay in their 1BR Apartment, well away from the main villa and are on hand the first night to ensure all questions are answered and the house and pool are running smoothly. We leave the following morning and return late evening prior to Departure in order to return the caution deposit and say Good Bye. When we are absent, we have an excellent Back-up team who live nearby and can ensure this large property is always running smoothly. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THESE DETAILS.
