Detached luxury Villa between Bergerac and St Emilion, Dordogne,

Le Chardon is a private and fully updated villa, with wonderful uninterrupted views over the valley and surrounding countryside.Situated in the South West of the Dordogne between Bergerac and ST Emilion where the summer, autumn and spring temperatures are usually 5 degrees warmer than Southern England. This area offers an abundance of chateaux, wine producers and restaurants as well as the notable cafe restaurants offering 3 or 4 course luncheon menus for around 15 euros (£11 - £12 ) and sometimes a glass or 2 of wine, look for busy parking.

The house is equipped for a self-catering holiday with all your needs taken into account including , good food, superb wines, very pleasant climate and places to visit. Close to all amenities.

The property sleeps 8 persons in 4 bedrooms, plus a cot, Jack and Jill bathroom,2 further ensuite shower roomsm 5 wc's in total. All bedrooms are doubles, 2 with twins beds and 2 with double beds.

We have had the most amazing 3 weeks at Le Chardon. The listing description is accurate. The house is very well equipped and very clean. The pool and garden are very well maintained. The copy of the house book is very useful for trips and restaurants in the area. The house is suitable for all ages and there were all facilities that we required.

We felt very comfortable and hope that we can return again soon.

We stayed at Le Chardon last June and enjoyed all the comforts, privacy and the many facilities and conveniences that the property provides.

We are going back this year and expect to enjoy another great holiday in France.

The description of the property, location and facilities is accurate.

The property is in excellent condition, very well equipped, with good customer service and the contact numbers provided are so useful when you are on holiday.

So many restaurants and café restaurants to choose from we never got bored.

The great thing about this holiday is the privacy around the house and the proximity all the local facilities. We are going back this year.

Nearest Airport : Bergerac, Bordeaux at 16 Miles Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

Chateaux, leisure lakes and the Dordogne river nearby.

Travel:

Flight access from most areas of the UK into Bergerac and /or Bordeaux and other airports a little further afield. Driving from the Channel ports has been improved with new stretches of motorway and from Calais there is no need for the Paris experience unless you want to. You can drive from Calais to Bordeaux on dual carriageway or motorway.

Distances:

Private situation 5 minutes from Ste Foy la Grande. 30 minutes to Bergerac and St Emilion and 1 hour to Bordeaux.

Further Details:

14th/15th century bastide Ste Foy la Grande 5 minutes, large Saturday market, supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, bakers, chemists and over 30 restaurants within 15 minutes. St Emilion, Libourne, Monsegur, Duras, Monbazillac, Eymet, Bergerac all within 30 minutes. Bordeaux, Canal du Midi, Agen, Perigueux, Sarlat, Monpazier, within 1 hour. The medieval city of St Emilion offers a range of international quality restaurants and a wine experience and museum. We can provide details of wine chateaux providing wine tasteing and historical interest. The Bergerac old port area has been tastefully refurbished with a host very French cafe/restaurants all within 10 minutes of each other and a wine museum. Ste Foy la Grande 14th/15th century centre has many restaurants and a riverside promenade for those after lunch strolls. Launderette nearby.
