About the property

Private villa suitable for up to 8 people. On The Edge Of The Countryside, And Only 8 Minutes walk to the plaza

There are the most spectacular views from this large,luxurious and private house. Can Tio has all modern facilities, with ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning throughout and is only 8 minutes walk from the cafes in the medieval village plaza.

The house is perched right on the edge of the village, overlooking the countryside, so is an ideal base for walking or biking (with bikes provided) and exploring the stone walled old lanes and farm houses. It is only 7 or 8 minutes walk to the village plaza, with its cafes and shops.

The privacy and quietness surrounding the house is broken only by sheep-bells and birdsong. There are fabulous views from every window, over the fields and trees to the medieval church of San Miguel in the valley below, the Campanet Caves, Tramuntana mountains,the Bay of Alcudia, the village and of course the surrounding gardens and 12 x 5 pool. The olive and palm trees and the large garden terraces are ideal places to relax in the sun.

Campanet has good local shopping,with 2 supermarkets and 8 cafes and bars. Four of the cafes/bars are in the plaza, a perfect place for sitting outside with a cool drink. There is a market in the plaza on Tuesday morning and a smaller market just down the road in Cami Vell D'Alcudia every Saturday morning.

The nearby villages and towns of Pollensa, Sa Pobla ,Sineu,Selva, Caimari, LLubi and Inca have some excellent Mallorquin restaurants and daily markets too.

The house has an extra large basement area, especially suitable for the safe storage of bikes and your car.

For those interested in a bucolic bike ride to lunch in one of the local villages, the cafes of Selva, Moscari, Caimari and Buger are within easy reach. We have 5 bikes for the use of guests.

As the house is on the bike trail from Campanet- Caimari- Lluch- Pollensa, it's an ideal base for serious road cyclists

There is a large secure garage suitable for the storage of cycles. Campanet has a good number of cafes and two supermarkets for daily provisions. If you need catering for your group, we can arrange meals and other back-up.

About Tony Lane

My wife and I first visited Campanet in 2005 and knew immediately that we would love to live there. The vibrant life of the village,rustic historic buildings, restaurants, bars and sports center appealed to both us and our children. When we found a large piece of land right on the edge of the village, looking out over the Tramuntana Range, the thirteenth-century church of St Michael and the Bay of Alcudia we decided to buy it and renovate the house that was already there.

We found a builder who worked in the traditional style and located old doors and windows, tiles and furniture.

We live there as much as we can each year and although we promise ourselves that we will visit the rest of Spain, there is so many things to do locally that we hardly ever to manage it. In fact, we have trouble travelling to the other side of Mallorca!

Why Tony Lane chose Campanet

We have found that Campanet is a really good centre to explore the north of Mallorca. The Albufera, near Alcudia, is an intriguing wildlife area, with migrating birds using it as a staging post in their trips between Africa and Europe. You don't even have to go that far however. In fact, a walk through the countryside,down the little lane next to the house, Cami Cristi, is an interesting way of uncovering the layers of Mallorcan history, from the stone-built fincas (farmhouses), to the 13th century church of St Michael, less than a kilometre away. One of the most beguiling aspects of Mallorca is the contrast of contemporary life with the traditional way of life of the villages. Within a space of 5 kilometres, or just by turning a corner, you can travel from the 21st century to the 18th.

One of our favorite bike excursions is through Caimari ( stopping for a cup of coffee) and on in a loop to Binibona, along some very beautiful country roads and then back to Campanet.

What makes this villa unique

Our favourite activities include walking or biking in the countryside, and going to the local markets- Campanet (for fresh produce), Sa Pobla or Pollensa on Sundays are our favourites. We didn't want to be in a car all of the time, so we have 5 bikes for ourselves and our guests.

We love walking up to the plaza and joining the locals watching the passing scene, drinking a cup of coffee or a glass of beer or wine.Relaxing in the garden and swimming in our pool is very enjoyable too! It's great to be feel the sun and be surrounded by the sound of nature. Pollenca is only 10-15 minutes away by car. We often take the small, medieval country road along the Campanet Valley to get there. Pollenca has some wonderful restaurants and good shopping ( especially antique shops) as well as great beaches.

Dear Tony, we are back, but I wanted to say that we have a spent a really wonderful time in your more than beautiful home. All the different seating areas were wonderful, especially with a big group (!), beautiful furniture, superb views, a lot of space also for the children to amuse themselves and escape the sun once in a while, very nice to be so near the Campanet village for a coffee and/or quick errand, also close enough to Palma to pick up and bring people to the airport and go for some shopping etc. etc J

The welcome by Eva was highly appreciated and we were happy to have been able to come already that early, as we had to leave the house near Cala Torta already early that Saturday!

So thank you so much again, I really hope to have an opportunity to come back one of the following years,

Notes on accommodation: The house is let with four bedrooms on the upper 2 floors.There is provision for two additional bedrooms on the lower floor,at a cost of Eur150pw each. As stated above, the bottom floor of the house, containing the laundry and garage, is more basic, but does have it's own bathroom. We have cots and a high-chair for infants. The house is especially suitable for summer indoor/outdoor living, with a large veranda and french doors from the house to the veranda and terraces and to the garden and pool. For the cooler weather in winter, there is central heating and a large wood-fired inbuilt fire. All of the bedrooms on the two top floors open onto balconies or terraces. We will consider pets on an individual basis. If you do not want to cook, but want to eat at home, we can supply locally cooked meals, plus there are many local cafes in Campanet, within an easy walking distance . Outside: The private pool is 11x5m , unfenced and is surrounded by paved terraces and connected to the house by stairs from the veranda. There are 8 sun-loungers and ample shade from the olive trees and veranda. The view from the pool is of the Campanet Valley and Tramuntana Range. There is a solar shower. Near the pool is a cabana , containing a wood-fired oven and barbecue, as well as a gas barbeque and table and chairs,which is ideal for an evening meal . There is a small changing room here also.The house is surrounded by a 3000sqm private walled garden, containing many olive trees and palms, with a small wood or bosque at the lower end. As well as the outstanding view of the Tramuntana Range and the countryside, the Bay of Alcudia is visible in the distance.A 4 metre wide veranda runs along one side of the house, with wrought-iron tables and chairs. On the other side of the house is a large terrace, looking out to the olive trees and garden and excellent for the morning sun. Utility Room: The bottom floor of the house contains a laundry, serviced by a laundry chute. Washing machine and clothes dryer. There is a large open space , with a table-tennis table. Bikes for guests. Space for at least 2 cars and plenty of room for bike parking. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The house has an ample stock of linen. All of the bedrooms are fully serviced with fresh linen, changed weekly. Extra linen can be supplied for a small fee. Cleaning is weekly and can also be augmented for an extra fee. Meals are available on request. Other: Between the two upstairs bedrooms is a library with a writing desk and wifi, sofa beds and book shelves. Directly below, down the beautiful tiled stairway, is a traditional Mallorquin hallway with a massive and ancient door onto the veranda

Spacious rooms, beautiful view, great terras & pool.

The location is great, the view stunning, the interior tasteful and spacious and the facilities more than adequate. We were with a group of 10 (2 families) and we still had more than enough space. We cooked at home (& bbq-ed) more often than not. It was very comfortable.

There was nothing really missing at this house.

2nd time we have stayed here. Wonderful villa with fabulous vista across to the Tramantana's. The villa has everything you need for a great holiday including a beautiful pool. Campanet itself is pretty magical, and you are within half an hour of Pollensa and Alcudia. What more could you want ??

Beautifully positioned villa with excellent facilities and superb views.

We were greeted on our arrival by Eva who manages the house. She explained all the facilities and procedures and gave us tips on what to do and where to eat. Very useful and very accurate.

Our party ranged in age from 11 to 72 and there was something for everyone. The villa was superb and we made great use of the pool and barbeque.

Getting around the area was easy, though the masses of cyclists and the narrow streets of Campanet were a challenge. We rode the Soller train and tram - a real gem of an attraction; visited Palma (by train from Inca - why drive when there's a train every 20 minutes); climbed Mallorca's 3rd highest mountain, Massanella, being rewarded with stunning views over the entire island; descended into the Caves of Campanet - well worth a visit; visited Cap Formentor where the road is a driving challenge to be savoured; and lounged on the beach at Puerta Pollenca having ascended the 365 steps to the Calvary church in nearby Pollenca old town. We can recommend the Antic Cellar Can Cota restaurant in Sa Pobla, where we had a grand meal on our last night. All in all a great holiday - and there's still a lot to do, so a return visit is on the cards.

A more detailed description of the route to the villa from the motorway would be a good idea, as the little streets of Campanet are somewhat intimidating on first acquaintance, and the vehicular access to the villa is not on the same street as the actual address. One of our party made the mistake of relying on SatNav and ended up on a decidedly rough and unsurfaced road approaching Campanet.. (However, it's worth bearing in mind that this same person got lost trying to find Palma airport on the way back! Either the SatNav was hopelessly inaccurate or his navigation was pathetic). Personally I preferred using a downloaded map and I'm glad he wasn't navigating on the ascent of Massanella!.

Amazing property with stunning views!

Just leaving after a lovely week. Villa is well equipped and great for a family get together or large family. Space to spread out and not get under each other's feet even when there are 12 people. Bedding and towels are all provided and of a high quality. Kids loved chilling in the pool and the BBQ area was excellent.

Stunning views!

We really enjoyed our holiday at this beautiful villa! The views from the pool are absolutely amazing. Campanet is such a lovely village and just a short walk away to the church square with several delightful restaurants. We would love to stay here again.

Surrounded by fields of almond trees and other crops, Campanet’s silhouette is like that of a postcard village, with stone houses huddled around the church, located in a square that is always lively. Very nearby, the Posada de Biniatró Museum houses a permanent exhibition of works by Miquel Barceló, Ramón Canet and Sirvent, among others. The municipality is home to the scenery of the valley of Sant Miquel and the Pla de Tel plain, frequented by bicycle tourists, the site of the Campanet caves and the Gabellí Petit estate, where the Fonts Ufanes springs bubble up after intense rain.

It is approximately 15 minutes drive to the wonderful northern beaches of Alcudia and Pollenca and little more to Muro. Further to the West is the spectacular Formentera Penunsula.Many of Formentera’s beaches are often deserted. you can often find a small, secluded patch of sand all to yourself and not see another living soul for the whole day.

The rugged mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana peak to 1,445 metres and has just become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Airport Palma 35km. Railway Inca 6km. Ferries at Alcudia 15km and Palma 35km. There is a bus from the Plaza in Campanet, which connects with the train station in Inca. The train takes approximately 40 minutes to reach Palma. There is an ancient train from Palma to Soller and an old tram to take you on to Puerto Soller. Generally speaking, car hire is recommended for journeying around the island. We find it easiest to hire a car on arrival at the airport.


Inca 6km-traditional bodega restaurants,leather goods and fashion wear. Sa Pobla 4km- excellent Sunday market. Pollensa 17km- shops, restaurants and beaches. Alcudia 15km- restaurants and beaches. Palma 35km- shopping, galleries, churches etc.

Caves of Alcudia 1km. Caimari, just up the road, has excellent restaurants .The Monastry of Lluc approx 10km, via Caimari village.

There are many good restaurants in the area. Our favourites are in Llubi, near Alaro and Santa Magdalena.

Further Details:

There are numerous opportunities in Mallorca for outdoor activities , including hiking and biking. The area around the village is a draw for those keen to see all of the amazing wildlife on the island of Mallorca and you may want to spend a day exploring the surrounding countryside on foot. If you like rocky landscapes and breathtaking views, the panoramas around here are really spectacular.

The nearby Tramuntana Range has a host of walks, some of them following mule tracks. The trails are usually very old and were used to connect the remote Fincas among each other and with the bigger villages. As a result, a wide range of hikes is offered, from the half-day trip to an excursion of two or more days. On your way you will discover deserted Fincas, ancient snow houses, charcoal burner's huts, lime kilns and terraces. The village of Sóller and the Monastery of Lluc are the most important - and most popular - starting points for the hikes. If you would like a guided hike, we can arrange one with a local English speaking guide, tailored to your level of fitness.

We also spend many happy days cycling from village to village, a not too strenuous activity, as the villages ( and cafes) are rarely more than 5 kms. distance from each other . The house has 5 bicycles available to guests. There is a network of tiny roads , making this a safe activity.

Campanet and each of the surrounding villages have a market day, where fresh local produce is sold. Market day in Campanet is Tuesday.In the village there are two local bakeries, a delicatessen, butcher, two supermarkets, a stationary shop ( with English newspapers), three banks and a chemist shop as well as six cafes, all centred around the sunny plaza, the social centre of the village.

Activities near Campanet- Tennis and watersports at the sports centre. Horse Riding- Eva can arrange riding, from beginners to expert
