As soon as you walk through the door you will feel at home in this luxurious apartment, beautifully decorated with African touches. The apartment is completely secure with strict security procedures ruling the whole estate.

It has been rated in the top 3 for the last 4 years on Tripadvisor for self catering accommodation in Cape Town, with 130 reviews (113 five star and 17 four star/all travelers would return). It has a large patio with loungers and a 6 seater table with beautiful views over the canal and the Cape Grace or One and Only. The walk to the shops and restaurants via private walkways along the water’s edge is an absolute pleasure. The apartments are fully equipped with everything you need for a great stay. All linen, towels, cutlery and crockery is provided. They also have an individual alarm and a safe. Use the gym and pools, with incredible views of the harbour and Table Mountain. The estate has top security with access points that are manned 24/7. Secure underground parking included

About Dominique Posen

I moved to Cape Town from Belgium in 1986. I always loved the beauty of this country and became a tour guide to share this passion with visitors. This was unfortunately too demanding on my family life (I have 3 sons, a husband and 2 very active dogs) so I thought the next best thing was to buy property in a location that is so beautiful and rent this out to tourists.

Why Dominique Posen chose De Waterkant

The Waterfront is one of the most central, secure and beautiful location in Cape Town. You are staying in the middle of town but no traffic noise, just the canals in front of you. It has top security and is 1 of the places you can relax and don't need a car. if you want to explore cape town you can just walk out the apartment and take the hop on hop off bus.

A spacious and very well equipped apartment, ideal for singles or couples. There is a sofa bed in the living area so a group of 3 or 4 could be accommodated if sharing a bathroom is acceptable. For those worried about safety & security, the whole estate is virtually inpenetratable without the supplied access passes. There is a lovely pool (plenty of sun loungers) and gym available for guest use on payment of a very modest supplement (SaR 150 at time of writing).

The location is excellent. If you want the tourist trap that is the V & A Waterfront then it's just a short walk away. The more edgy (and far more interesting) parts of the city are easily walkable in the opposite direction.

Dominique, the owner, is lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I can't recommend this apartment highly enough for a stay in this wonderful city.

Notes on accommodation: You will be staying in one of the most central and secure areas in Cape Town. No traffic noise since your apartment faces the water. All you will have to bring is your clothes and personal items, all the rest is in the flat. Wireless router in the apartment. Outside: The apartment has a big balcony with stunning views over the water of the marina. The whole estate has beautiful gardens and you can use any of the pools (5 in total, of which some are heated). Use of gym is also free of charge (with stunning views over the harbour). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment gets cleaned every 4 days. This includes a change of linen. All linen and towels are included, spare sets always stored in the cupboard. Hairdryer, ironing board etc also available. Other: Big balcony with 6 seater table and lounger(s). Underground parking area within the secure estate (on the same level as the apartment).

Great location at the V&A Waterfront

This is a delightful apartment with a great balcony/ terrace over the water. It is a short walk to all the action at the V&A Waterfront's dozen plus bars, restaurants and shopping and an easy taxi anywhere else. Security is assured here.

The best of the Waterfront

We stayed in the Juliette B room 109, on the day of arrival we were welcomed by the friendly and efficient host Dominique whom is always willing and eager to assist with any questions or recommendations. We felt safe and secure in the apartment our vehicle were safely parked in the underground parking whiles we enjoyed walking around as we were closely located to the Waterfront, Victoria and Alfred Mall, Two Oceans Aquarium, restaurants and the CBD of Cape Town. The apartment is fully equipped with all your utensils that one needs, washing machine, tumble dryer, Television with full DSTV, wireless internet connectivity  and housekeeping service are also available on request which made our stay more convenient.

Paradise on earth

Friends told me that Cape Town is the most beautiful city of the world, and i must admit that i fully agree. The best place to stay in Cape Town is certainly the V&A Waterfront marina. Beautiful and very safe surrounding, at walking distance from the vibrant Waterfront area, with many shops and nice restaurants. The flat was perfect, with an exclusive view on the One and Onlyhotel. Mss Posen was both very friendly and professional. We will certainly be back, and back again !!

Fabulous place to stay

The apartment is in an ideal position. It's a five minute walk to the V&A waterfront and 15 to 20 minutes to places like Bo-Kaap. It feels very safe. It has beautiful views over the canal from a huge terrace. The apartment is a really good size and with the sliding doors to the terrace pushed right back you have a fantastic space. It's really well equipped and cared for and Dominique is so friendly and welcoming you feel at home straight away. We are planning to stay there again next year. Would recommend to anybody. Loved it.

A great place to stay for our return to Cape Town
