This well equipped two bedroom apartment can sleep 6 guests and has a great location in Tignes Le Lac. A short stroll from the lifts and slopes of Tignes. Situated on the first floor of a quiet residence, this light apartment enjoys fantastic views over the lake and up to the Grande Motte Glacier. The apartment has a huge South facing terrace off the lounge and off bedroom 1. The apartment has free WIFI internet, UK TV and a modern kitchen.

Hi, we're Jamie and Gayle. Thank you for taking the time to look at our apartment in Tignes. We live in Tignes for most of the winter and so are usually in resort should you need any advice or help during your holiday. If not, a representative of ours will be on hand to advise or assist. We operate a catered chalet business in Tignes and so you can expect professional standards; from the booking process to the service and cleanliness of the apartment.

Why James Philpott chose Tignes Le Lac

Why Tignes??? We first lived in Tignes during the winter season 2003/2004 and immediately fell in love with everything it has to offer. The vastness and variety of L’Espace Killy, the reliability and quality of the snow, not to mention the efficiency of the ski lift system mean that in our eyes it is unbeatable as a ski resort.

Having subsequently started a business in Tignes, which we still operate, we have now been living in Tignes for 10 years and it remains the place of our dreams! Much to their pleasure we often use this apartment for our family to stay in when they visit us from the UK.

What makes this apartment unique

The best view in Tignes* from it’s huge South facing terrace! Also, it is an extremely well equipped apartment with extras like a second toilet, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

* In our opinion... but we're sure you'll agree! Because we'd rather our apartment is enjoyed than sitting empty, we've set our prices very reasonably.

Outside: The apartment has a huge South facing terrace off the lounge and off bedroom 1. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen, tea towels and washing up items provided. Please bring your own towels. End of week cleaning included in rental. Other: A ski locker is located on the ground floor near the entrance to the apartment building providing secure storage of your equipment.

Great small apartment with brilliant views

We loved the flat. Very clean and I'm an amazing position with good views and walking distance from main lifts. Communication, etc was brilliant with really well explained instructions, etc. 2 downsides really, there were 3 of us and the flat was fine for that, any more would be a squeeze. Great for a small family though I'd say with children in the bunk beds. The other was the main bed, which was very squeaky, to the point where it kept you awake. I'd suggest it needs replacing tbh. Overall though, we were very happy.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The apartment is 42m2 which, as you say, is great for perfect for families - especially as it has 2 bedrooms and 2 toilets. When groups of 5 or 6 book the apartment, we manage their expectations so they understand that to have 5 of 6 is a slight compromise on space, but the total apartment price remains the same while the price per person comes down. Thanks again for taking the time to review the apartment and we hope to have you to stay with us again.

Value for money

This apartment is very small to the degree that it has no proper area to relax in - no lounge. It certainly is not large enough for 6 people. It is in need of updating and therefore cannot be described as luxury as the cost implies and therefore is not good value compared to other apartments in the center of Tignes le lac. Its remoteness at the end of the village is not an advantage as it requires a morning slog with ski boots and skies and cannot be skied back to in the evening. All that said our visit was enjoyable especially as the apartment manager Jamie was so very good.

We are pleased that your visit was enjoyable and you found the apartment manager to be good. We were sorry and surprised to read some of your feedback and would like to respond to your views. Whilst it is a nicely appointed apartment, with a new kitchen and bathroom in 2011, we do not consider it luxury, nor do we or have we ever advertised it as such. Photos of all rooms, a full description and a floor plan appear on our listing for the apartment Owners Direct. Having a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom and an open plan living area with sofa beds for 2 people, the apartment is able to accommodate up to 6 people. For the past 5 years we have only ever received positive feedback about the apartment, with many families and groups returning the following winter - often citing the value for money, apartment location, open plan kitchen-diner with sofa, UK TV and free WIFI internet as major reasons for their return. The rental prices, typically £900 for a week, works out at £150 per person when 6 people stay, which is not a luxury price tag, especially when considering the apartment is in one of the most highly regarded ski areas in Europe. The exact location of the apartment is shown on the apartment listing on Owners Direct. It is possible to ski back to the apartment off piste and on piste to within 50 metres of the apartment. The ski bus stop (free shuttle buses, every 10-15 minutes) is just 50 metres from the apartment and run in both direction to the main ski lifts in Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret, 1 minute either way. When we stay as a family it takes us less than 5 minutes to walk our 5 and 4 year old children from the apartment to ski school in the centre of Tignes, so we would really not consider it a slog, we choose the stroll over the bus in fact.
