Why Sandi chose Woolacombe

I bought this property in 2005, the stunning views won me over, it is an amazing location. The apartment is spacious and quiet. Just an ideal distance from the beach and village. From here you can enjoy the most spectacular views of Woolacombe Bay and Lundy Island, yet its just a short walk to get sand on your toes ;-)

I stay at the apartment regularly myself, generally once a week when bookings allow, it is a peaceful haven.

Great base from which to explore Woolacobme and surrounding area. Weather was a bit windy at first but improved as the week wore on.

Lovely waklks to Baggy Point from Croyde adn Morte point from Mortehoe.

Can recommend Rockleigh take away; good quality at a good price. Captains Table aslo offers very good value.

Also visited Ilfracombe and Lynmouth whilst here.

Asian spice in Ilfracombe is a good curry house, after our first choice restaurant was surprisingly closed for the time of year.

Loved the flat which was always very comfortable to return to.

Amazing apartment - home from home!

The apartment was fantastic, it was like walking into those properties you see in the House and Home magazines! Everything about this apartment ties in beautifully with its outstanding location. The apartment was bright, cosy, cheery, very clean, spacious, well equipped and modern.The views were out of this world!

There is a footpath a few paces from the door which leads you to the beach in 15 minutes.

Woolacombe has everything you need, it is tasteful and quaint.

We loved the rock pooling and fascinating rocks formations in Barricane beach - our son loved all the sea creatures. It was sunny every day but even if it hadn't been it would have been the same.

We have fallen in love with Devon and we will definitely be back.

A fantastic midweek break spent here!!! Loved it!

We had an absolutely amazing time in this apartment! From the moment we arrived it was clean, homely and very well equipped.

We were so so lucky with the weather and it was sunny all week but even if it was raining I wouldn't have minded spending some wet afternoons here. The walk down to the beach is quite far (about a 15min walk) and very steep coming back up so we took the car down and parked a couple of days when we were carrying buckets and spades. But to be honest I think the view totally makes up for the walk!!! We sat and watched the sunset with a cold glass of bubbly and the stars were amazing at night. It's so peaceful and relaxing, I wanted to move in :-)

I would also recommend taking a walk into the caravan park next door for a drink in the bar or a play on the soft play/outdoor play areas. It has recently been refurbished and was really lovely!

We love Woolacombe anyway so if you haven't been you must visit. We love rock pooling and the village has some lovely little surf shops, a small arcade and a range of restaurants.

This is the first holiday we have ever been on where our 5 year old cried when it was time to come home! None of wanted to leave.

We also left one of his teddy bears behind. Sandy was so amazing! She sent a postcard to our little boy from his bear before sending him home, he loved it!!!!!

Thanks again, can't wait to come back.

Great Weekend

This is the second time we have stayed at Sands. The apartment is lovely, the view is great and the relaxing feel you get when looking out the window at the view of Woolacombe Bay is really something special. Highly recommend Sands.

Woolacombe beach (blue flag, sandy, surfing) just ten mins walk down the hill or couple of minutes by car. Putsborough and Croyde sandy/surfing beaches 10 minutes by car. Ilfracombe (rocky cove beaches, great for rock pooling) ten minutes by car. Saunton sandy/surfing beach 15 minutes by car. Many stunning coastal footpaths lead from the door of the apartment for keen walkers this is an ideal location. Pick up coastal boat trips and daily trips to Lundy Island at Ilfracombe harbour.


Nearest airport - Exeter approx 45 miles. Nearest train station at Barnstaple 15 miles. Car is recommended to get to the property, yet not essential once you are there.


Woolacombe village 1/2 mile. Mortehoe village 1 mile. Ilfracombe town 3 miles. Croyde village 4 miles. Barnstaple 15 miles. Braunton village 6 miles. Exmoor National Park 6 miles.

Woolacombe itself has a very good selection of bars, bistro's and restaurants, some with lovely views over the beach. Whilst no large supermarket there are small grocery stores, pharmacy, post office, newspaper shops, bank and a large selection of gift shops, beach equipment etc. Surfing lessons and all surf/kayak hire available in abundance. All types of take-away food, pasties, fish n chips, Chinese, pizza etc Many children's activities in the village. Nearest supermarkets at Braunton and Ilfracombe.
