Seaside Villa With Private Jetty In Stockholm Archipelago

Updated: 09-Aug-2016
Villa in Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden

This house is our second home. We have carefully renovated the house since 1997 to its current state. The house has an amazing location in the best part of the archipelago and is very private, still within easy driving access to Stockholm city. By the water is a very large jetty with abilities for a private swim, a rowing tour and/or sunbathing. 5 minutes away from the house is a village with all necessary services as well as 4 nice restaurants, several of them just by the water.

About the Owner

We are a family of four who live in Stockholm all year round. This is our hideaway out among the islands where we go to get away from it all, still being very close to the city.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"The house and the setting was amazing! Having a morning swim before breakfast beats anything we've experienced. So was the rowing tour at sunset!"

"Your house is wonderful (and very comfortable and well appointed) but the setting is truly magical. I cannot believe that such tranquillity and beauty can be found so close to a major city. Your pictures on the website do not (and probably cannot) do justice to what is an exceptional place."

"Thank you for allowing us to experience a small piece of Archipelago life. We had a wonderful stay. What a fabulous house and location!

Wonderful villa in the Stockholm Archipelago

  • 5 of 5

A rather belated review but a year later we find ourselves wishing we were heading back to this wonderful villa this summer!

We are a family of four with daughters aged 13 and 9 at the time of our stay. Our stay was a perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, and of luxury and "back to nature". Much fun was had down on the jetty in fantastic sunshine and we enjoyed exploring the area too.

The villa was very well equipped and comfortable with gorgeous views from the decking.

HIghly recommended. We hope to make it back one day soon!

Beautiful & tranquil

  • 5 of 5

My family of four (kids aged 13 & 10) have just spent a lovely week in this cottage - it really was everything we had hoped for. It is the owners holiday place and so feels like a cosy home from home. The views are amazing and the kids loved taking the rowing boat out every evening. We also went on several excursions to Sandhamn, sea kayaking and into Stockholm (only 1 hour away and we drove then caught a ferry). The owners were great to deal with, always very prompt with emails and very friendly. The only thing which I am not sure is clear from the listing is that one of the bedrooms is by the sauna down a long flight of stairs by the water. The bedrooms are also not huge so I would say it was perfect for our family, but sleeping wise it might be a squeeze for two families unless you had kids happy to sleep away from the main cottage (there is however more than enough space for people to eat). These are VERY minor things though - we wished we could have stayed much longer and would absolutely recommend it to our friends. Thank you to Staffan and Anna for letting us share their beautiful home.

Family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We travelled to Sweden to vist my elder son, who is studying there. He had suggested that we visit the archipeligo and it did not disappoint. The accomodation was wonderful and the location is stunning. We made good use of the sauna with the brave even daring a plunge into the water, boys enjoyed fishing off the pontoon and exploring the area. We all had a fanstastic time and will definatley be coming back.

Fantastic cabin

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful views over a quiet wooded sea inlet. Two rowboats made for a lot of fun. Great swimming in 18 degrees. Lovely blue skies. Stockholm 50 minutes away - Vasa museum fantastic and Abba museum fun. Accommodation very comfortable, lit and airy, well equipped. A little more information at the cabin on where to go what to do would be handy but that's a minor point. Fantastic place for a family holiday, our kids aged 11 to 18 when we visited.

Paradise on earth!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this property for 6 years in a row now.

Our intention, landlord willing, is to continue to rent, year after year....This property is the best we could wish for, making our summers feel like paradise on earth! Location, views, serenity, quality, feels like a home away from home - what else can one wish for a stunning relaxation time? Jump into the sea in the morning (water in Sweden is usually cold, so be pre-warned, haha!), maybe bicycle to the best bakery in Sweden for a big breakfast, make long walks in stunning surroundings, enjoy the sunshine (not guaranteed of course, but the location makes it likely, near the archipelago weather is usually best), take an evening sauna with view over the sea, enjoy sunset dinner on one of the terraces, make a fire in the fireplace if weather is cold. Then sleep with open windows and dream away..!!!

Well, we love this place, will always do. After having lived in many countries and seen so many things - we are lucky - it is always like "landing" when we come to our dream place in Sweden, this property. And the lovely landlords are regularly investing our rental fee into making upgrades in the house.

Thank you!

Fantastic Place

  • 5 of 5

We spent a great week in this wonderful summerhouse. It's really as fantastic as the pictures here on the site (which is not always the case). Everything was working great, and the house was well equipped, and decorated tastefully and personally. You could feel that the owners use it themselves, and it's not just a house for renting out. You don't sense the neighbours, and across the fjord, there are no houses, so you really feel undisturbed. Can highly recommend this summerhouse.

From the Owner

We bought this property as our second home and have renovated with great effort since. Being out among the Stockholm Archipelago's 30,000 islands must be experienced. Our house is from 1939 but top modern with all the facilities you can imagine, including a sauna 3 meters from the water. The house is on the furthest island one can drive to from Stockholm but is only 45 minutes from downtown.

From the Owner

Even though there are a couple of houses nearby you will feel like you are almost alone. The view from the veranda is amazing and when sunbathing on the jetty you feel like you are almost on the water itself.
