Villa in La Manga Club, Costa Calida / Murcia, Spain - Peaceful Location But Easy Walking Distance From Many Activities, Cafes, Bars And Restaurants

Our villa is in one of the prettiest communities which make up La Manga Club, Murcia, Spain.The community of Los Molinos, identified by its windmill, is a collection of villas in a beautifully maintained, peaceful and luxuriant setting. The villa's sun terrace has wonderful views down to the Mediterranean Sea and Mar Menor and is surrounded by landscaped gardens and trees. The villa is only a very short distance from the private community pool, with cafe and bar. The nearby plaza in the community of Bellaluz has a well stocked supermarket, cafes and restaurants as well as some shops and a chemist. Residents have access to the highest quality golf courses (3), squash and tennis courts, cycling, horse riding, sailing and scuba diving, organised through the activity centres.The site hosts restaurants for every taste and there is a casino and nightly live music in the hotel. The villa has two bedrooms and two bathrooms - a living/dining room, well equipped kitchen, BBQ and sun terraces.

About Pam Flanagan

Our villa is family owned and only let for a few weeks each year. We love its pretty, peaceful setting, the wonderful pool just through the trees (great breakfasts!) and the views from the sun terrace of Mar Menor. As golf enthusiasts we look forward to the beauty of the North Course and the challenge of the West Course; our children have enjoyed tennis, cycling, horse riding and the fact that their favourite football team sometimes trains at La Manga! There are a number of very good restaurants within walking distance (we'll give you a run down of our favourites) as well as cafes, bars and well stocked supermarkets on site. The live music in the Piano Bar is world famous. We have made the villa a real retreat for us (memory foam matresses and M&S bedding!) - we think you'll love it too.

Why Pam Flanagan chose Cartagena

Murcia is a beautiful region with a wonderful climate; it has great cities eg. Cartagena with its newly developed and impressive waterfront, as well as wild and rugged countryside, unspoilt by commercialism. We bought a La Manga Club villa because the resort offers a magnificent setting, a very wide range of facilities and activities and absolute peace and safety. Over the years the range of facilities has continued to grow, including, for example, an excellent Spa with indoor pool, but the site never feels crowded or even busy. We love the market and harbour at nearby Cabo de Palos, the beaches of the Calblanque Nature Reserve and the fact that the sun always shines; but it's hard to beat the resort facilities - try sea food and Sancerre at the beach (La Cala) or fine dining at La Finca.

What makes this villa unique

La Manga is close to two airports which have flights from most UK airports (Alicante, an hour away and Murcia, half an hour). Many people hire a car to drive to the resort but Sara, who manages the villa for us, can arrange for you to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. Sara will call in at some point during your stay to check that you have everything you need and is available on her mobile to deal with any queries.)

Guests with small (and older) children have commented on the safety of the site and the reassurance this gives them; there is a Children's Club on site and baby sitting at the villa can be arranged.

Outside: The villa is set in landscaped gardens and has a front patio area with cafe table and two chairs. The rear terrace, accessed through the living areas and from the kitchen, has a patio table and four chairs and a built-in BBQ. The sun terrace, accessed by an external staircase, has four sun loungers with cushions, a patio table and chairs. The community pool, accessed by private resident key, has a children's pool and main pool. A lifeguard is usually on duty. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen and towels, including beach towels, are included; the property is cleaned before and after each letting. For lettings of two weeks mid stay laundry changes are included.

Felt it was in need of renovation. Very old fridge, kettle , toaster. No place mats.

It is very important to note that the internal steep marble stairs leading to downstairs bedrooms and toilet are dangerous. Especially for young children , elderly or infirm. Good quality sheets and towels.

No spare toilet rolls which had to be bought on second day

Owner's Response: Hi John Thanks for your review. We note your comments about the 'need for renovation' but it's a shame you didn't note how reasonably priced the villa is as well in reflection of that! The stairs to the bedrooms are exactly the same in all Los Molinos properties and no-one as far as I know has ever thought them dangerous. We offer stair gates for families with young children and obviously answer questions about accessibility to those with infirmities honestly. You never mentioned that you had accessibility issues when you booked. I will refer the question of toilet rolls to our manager on site but there are two bathrooms and only two of you so I find it hard to believe that you had to purchase more on the second day?

There is a small cove beach which forms part of the resort which is a short drive from the villa. There is an excellent, long sandy beach (naturist) a ten minute drive away in the Calblanque Nature Reserve. The Mar Menor/Mediterranean beaches can be easily accessed by car (ten minutes).


The nearest airport is Murcia (half an hour by car) - taxis are available. Alicante is one hour away by car. Car hire is available from both airports and also on the resort. Free transport around the site by minibus is available but car hire is recommended for increased flexibility.


There are a number of interesting local villages (Los Belones, Cabo de Palos) within a short distance of the resort. The major city of Cartagena is about thirty five minutes away by car and Murcia is about an hour.

There are numerous good quality bars and restaurants within walking distance including an all day restaurant / sports bar with good sized children's garden, bars and restaurants offering live music and a wide range of different types of food from tapas to fine dining. There are two supermarkets, one within easy walking distance of the villa in Bellaluz Square. There are numerous sporting opportunities, other than golf, for adults and children including football, tennis, bowls, cycling, sailing horse riding. The children' club offers daily provision (pre-booking is advisable). There are also excellent spa facilities available, two banks and a doctor on site.

Booking Notes:
Initial enquiries about bookings should be made by phone or, preferably, email. A 10% deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance due two weeks before the booking date. A damage deposit of £100 will also be required at the same time as the balance, which will be returned immediately the villa has been checked.

We are happy to negotiate start dates other than weekends; arrival and departure times are not set and we do our best to make sure that guests can arrive and leave when best suits their flights.
