June 2010. Definitely the best place we have stayed in in England. Sharon Young-Lai (Canada).

July 2010. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Julie Ahay Cornwall.

Nov 2009. It has been such a pleasure staying in such an old cottage: an old path off an old street with lovely walks along the river Leach (and a kingfisher!) Thank you for the personal and friendly feeling and provision of extras. Tony Coombs London and Yorkshire.

Perfect all the way!

  • 4 of 5

We had the most wonderful week in Lechlade. Walking distance into this cute little town. From the day we arrived we felt at home and welcomed. Great ammenities for a family, close to Swindon with a definite Cotswold feel.

Highly recommended.

Lovely old cottage, well equipped and clean.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this property, it was clean and well equipped. The owner left wine, sweets and milk, plus tea, coffee and sugar. The only let down was the on street parking. It was not plentiful and we often struggled to park close to the cottage. This made loading and unloading luggage and shopping difficult.

A Wonderful Weekend in the Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful couple of nights in this cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. It was perfectly located within reach of a number of local attractions, which were suitable for adults and children. The town of Lechlade is lovely for a wander around as there is a nice riverside walk and a number of pubs to enjoy the afternoon/evening in.

The cottage itself was perfect for our needs. We found it to be very clean and everything we needed was supplied so it was very comfortable. The two bedrooms were very cosy and the garden was absolutely beautiful for an afternoon of sitting in the sun.

I would definitely recommend this cottage and would certainly visit again.

Our second stay in this lovely cottage.

  • 4 of 5

Delightful cottage tucked away from the village and in a very peaceful location.

On our arrival there was flowers, wine, milk and biscuits! These were appreciated.

The cottage was clean and tidy.

The owners were extremely helpful when my husband left behind his wallet. They quickly located it and arranged for the safe return of the item and the cash that was inside; very honest owners.

We love the open fire and so did our dog who fell asleep on the floor near to the fire every evening!

We intend to revisit the cottage next year.

Perfect hideaway for us

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this small but beautifully preserved old stone cottage. The helpful owner provided a high chair and cot for us and we found the cottage a perfect hideaway for our small family. We visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park every day with our season passes and also enjoyed going down to the river in Lechlade and feeding the ducks. Our son Ewan who is nearly two loved the Christmas lights in Lechlade and also going down the small pathway to find the cottage, which was complete with several cats and and a wooden owl! The stove was a great bonus at this chilly time of year and made us very cosy. We'd definitely return to this cottage if we wanted another stay in the area.

Quaint cottage, but in need of a proper clean!

  • 2 of 5

This is a quaint cosy cottage in a lovely location, with picturesque walks on the doorstep, plenty of pubs and places to eat, and other villages to explore in the area. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness. The kitchen plastic tablecloth was dirty, the hob was greasy as was the surface around it, and a used greasy/fatty oven tray had been left in the oven. Perhaps this had been an oversight by the cleaners, but it was not very welcoming. The toaster also needed a good clean. All the mirrors in the property were smeary. The grouting around the bathroom tiles was black and mouldy in many places and had obviously not been cleaned. Perhaps this is why there is not a picture of the bathroom or the kitchen in the property details? When you are only away for a few days you don't want to have to clean up before you start! Sorry but this was overpriced for the condition it was presented in.

Owner's Response: I manage the property, including cleaning, and one of the great pleasures of having the property has been to read in the visitors book of the many positive experiences people have enjoyed in the cottage . I have only very recently had any web-based reviews but my visitors book has had many reviews over the years. People do alert me to when things have gone wrong, as inevitably they occasionally do, and it is a very helpful mechanism to ensure the future visitor enjoyment and I welcome it. On the occasion that you were in the cottage there had just been a terrible sadness in my family: associated with it I had extra responsibilities for a period and due to these two related factors I was not so focussed on the cottage as usual. I did not realize the effect of the reduction of attention to the cottage at that time until your post. Of course I have now been able to attend to those matters again and so thank you for the review.
