Jasmine Cottage, which is Listed Grade II, is believed to date back to the early 16th century and is one of the oldest properties in the village. The cottage, which has locally quarried stone elevations under a thatched roof and has under gone extensive renovations in 2010 is now sporting 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, new kitchen dining room with French doors opening into a classic English country cottage garden. For many years the cottage served as the village newsagents and shop and is situated in the heart of this picturesque village.

About Marielle Hemingway

Dorset Cottage Holiday was set up by Chris and Marielle Hemingway to provide quality self catering holiday cottages in Dorset. Marielle has used her background as an experienced Interior Designer to bring a blend of comfort, style and heritage to Cottages undertaken.

Jasmine Cottage has been an exciting renovation project, completely refurbishing the property to the highest specifications, with the addition of a spacious kitchen dining room and new master bedroom. We are excited to open our renovated cottage to guests and we hope you can share in this too!

Notes on accommodation: Dogs are welcome at additional charge. They are not permitted upstairs. Outside: The cottage is situated within a privately enclosed classic English country garden. A sunny and sheltered patio area with seating for 8 people accessed by the garden gate and patio doors from the kitchen / dining room. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, boot room located next to this. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Electricity and central heating included. Duvets and pillows on all beds. Tenants to bring or hire towels at £5 per set/person. The cottage is cleaned once a week, more frequently by arrangement. WIFI internet access available at £10per week. Other: The cottage has recently gone through extensive refurbishment and professionally designed by morForm Interior Design.

Jasmine Cottage was a delight! We were 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 toddler and 2 black labs. Property was clean and well maintained. Location is perfect for exploring Dorset. The oven element went on the cooker. Chris and Marielle were right on it and had an electrician replace it straight away (on a Saturday). We would recommend this property.

Jasmine Cottage

This cottage is ideal for a group of people as the layout of the bedrooms means you can stay together but have your own space. The cottage is well equipped with a large kitchen/dinning room, the table is big enough for a party of 8 to eat together and it has a secure garden for dogs. There are many walks straight from the cottage so there is no need to drive. You can also easily walk to The Smugglers Inn for food and drink and if you fancy tea and cakes there is a farm just across the road which is also a deli.The owners are very helpful and there is parking for at least three cars. I would definitely go back to Jasmine Cottage.
