Our one bedroom first floor apartment is just 50m from El Cotillo's famous lagoon beaches with white sand and safe bathing. Comfortably furnished and well equipped, the light and airy apartment enjoys a peaceful location with private balcony looking out towards the lighthouse on the coast and the mountains inland. El Cotillo is perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday - it really is a get-away-from-it-all location. There's a supermarket, small shops, restaurants and bars all within easy walking distance. The popular resort town of Corralejo is a 20 minute drive away, as are the stunning sand dune beaches of the National Park.

About Tom

We are Lorraine & Tom, and a few years ago we made our dream come true, of owning an apartment by the beach in El Cotillo. We have been visiting Fuerteventura for many years, spending all our family holidays in the north of the island with our four children. All of us have always loved the unique atmosphere that makes Fuerteventura so special. Now that our children have outgrown family holidays, we decided to own a tiny bit of our very own paradise and are looking forward to spending many more happy days relaxing in the sun. We hope you love El Cotillo, the lagoons and Fuerteventura as much as we all do.

Why Tom chose La Oliva

We liked the the smallness of the complex, the character of the buildings, and it's relaxed 'castaway' atmosphere. And, of course, it's position backing right onto the beach!

We chose our apartment for it's quietness and it's privacy. Facing outwards from the complex means that although we can't quite see the sea, we have an open view of mountains, desert and a lot of blue sky, rather than being overlooked by other properties and being at the mercy of noisy neighbours!

And of course, the beach is just a 30 second amble away (ambling is all we do there, I think it's got something to do with relaxation).

"The apartment was absolutely perfect, so comfortable and brilliantly well equipped. From the lovely little very private balcony we could watch the world go by slowly from early morning till dusk. We slept like logs and then of course we could have a swim first thing in the morning on an empty beach! My husband was so relaxed he forgot to put his watch on and believe me that’s a first!

The apartment was comfortable, everything worked and it was situated conveniently halfway between the village and the lagoon beach. The decoration needed a little care and attention but it was perfectly useable.

Owner's Response: So glad you found the apartment comfortable, convenient and well equipped. You're right, the decoration needs a freshen up, and is being painted at the end of April - the apartment is so popular our problem is finding a few days when it's empty to get the paintbrushes out!

Nice Spot

Though small, there was plenty of room for two in the apartment, which was very clean and well equipped in a convenient location. It was right by the beach and the old centre of the village where the concentration of good restaurants is perhaps half a mile away. Hard to fault.

I had a wonderful week long stay. The apartment was perfect, it was equipped with everything I needed. Beautifully clean.

A real home from home. So close to the beach, which had the most amazing sunsets, the perfect way to end the day. A very relaxing break, I will be booking the apartment again this year.

well appointed, good location

e have stayed here many times and we are booked in again for March 2016. (and October). The apartment is clean and comfortable, and well placed for the beach. A bonus at breakfast time (if it's not too windy) is to watch the goats being herded across the hills to their day-time pasture.
