Pair of woodpeckers on the damson tree, pair of buzzards circling above – all visible from the cottage door. This is a very special place.

Lovely to get away from the bustle of London and stay in this delightfully quiet and cosy cottage. We did not realise just how beautiful South Shropshire is.

The cottage is delightful and is very well equipped. We found many lovely places to visit and we shall return home feeling very relaxed after an extremely happy week

Celebrated our wedding anniversary with champagne and a cosy log fire at Croft Cottage. Just what was needed - peace, quiet relaxation and fine dining.

Love the real fire for cosy nights in and what better start to the day than breakfast on the sunny terrace.

We have been to cottages all over the UK, from Scotland to Lands End – and this is one of the best… we will be telling our friends about this lovely place.

Words fail us –it just gets better every time we come. What a little gem.

A beautiful character cottage, fantastic location!

Warm, cosy, well appointed cottage in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Beautiful garden for our son to play in.

The cottage was absolutely spotless and everything you needed was supplied.

Rob & Judi were excellent hosts, very accommodating and very friendly.

We would most definitely recommend this property. In fact, we are looking at dates for our next visit.

I'm sure you will enjoy your stay as much we did.

Wonderful Chocolate Box Cosy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

An absolutely gem of a find!

Everything exceeded our expectations.

The owners were informative friendly and even went the extra mile by returning my gloves I'd left there!

The property was in a perfect location from which to explore the Shropshire countryside! And was immaculate both inside and out and included every utensil you would ever need in the kitchen!

Kept us stocked with logs and kinderling for the fire!

Couldn't fault it in anyway!

Places we visited and would highly recommend were Ludlow, a must on Market day, church Streeton where we started our walk along the Long Mynd with breath taking views of the Shropshire Hills, Ironbridge and a pretty small village of Much Wenlock!

Needed at least a week, but alas only had 3 night to fit all this in!

Sunny days in Shropshire.

Very, very difficult to fault. It is not often that I go to stay at a place for a second time, but thsi venue is so good that it was very much worth a repeat visit. Wonderfully located in a quiet valley with a babbling brook close by, the cottage is tastefully decorated and very well equipped with everything one needs for a week's stay. Rob and Judi (the hosts) are unobtrusive but on hand in the event of an emergency or to answer questions, otherwise one is left alone in perfect isolation to enjoy the location and the excellent gardens. Conveniently located for Ludlow and the surrounding countryside, this is an excellent base from which to enjoy everything that Shropshire has to offer.

The Old Cottage at Brookrow - A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere special in the Shropshire area to spend a leisurely week and we settled on The Old Cottage at Brookrow - we are so pleased that we did. The cottage is beautifully presented, homely and comfortable yet retains all of the character that befits a listed property of this kind. It is spotless throughout and Rob and Judi (the owners) must be complimented on their attention to detail. It is set in wonderful gardens in the most tranquil of locations - at night all you can hear are the owls and the burbling brook. Rob and Judi live in the adjoining property and are on hand should you need anything (nothing is too much trouble) yet at the same time they are incredibly discreet and if privacy is your preference then you wouldn't even know that they were there. The Old Cottage truly is a hidden gem and we will very definitely be visiting again.

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We chose this cottage for a much needed relaxing long weekend, to rest, recharge our batteries and to simply do as we please, and this lovely cottage most certainly did not disappoint in any way.

It is in a lovely quiet setting, yet near to many places to visit, and is very peaceful and relaxing to stay in. Plenty of room for two, as we were, or three.

Judi and Rob were very welcoming and friendly and ready to help in any way they could, they were happy to suggest places to visit which we did, and very good suggestions they were indeed.

The cottage was just a dream, very clean, well decorated and furnished, cosy, pretty and comfortable, warm indeed with the log burner to light each evening, and oozing with character and atmosphere, and with everything that you could need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was very spacious and well equipped and we had everything that we needed.

The garden is very pretty and well kept, and it was lovely to see the Spring flowers, and so many birds, and to wake to hearing just birdsong in the mornings.

We went into Ludlow for food supplies, there are plenty of great individual shops in which to buy fresh produce, and of course the market, which again provided plenty of choice, the town is of course lovely in itself but also practical for normal shopping not just aimed at tourists, which is just what we hoped for.

All in all, I would highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break or a longer stay visiting the area, there is certainly lots to see, and we really hope to be back one day.

Thank you, Judi and Rob, for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable.

We didn't want to leave!

the old cottage at brookrow

being keen walkers and never having been to shropshire before, we chose the old cottage to stay in for our holiday as it looked in a good location and from the pictures looked a comfy and quiet place to unwind, and we were not disappointed! the cottage was everything we hoped for, it had been beautifully restored, loads of character, clean and tidy, very well equipped, nice garden to sit and eat in, quiet, and in a scenic location, it proved to be a very good base to explore the surrounding area. the owners, judi and rob were both very welcoming and made sure we had everything we wanted to enjoy our stay. we look forward to returning in the near future.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Hair dryers, bedlinen, towels, bath mats and kitchen towels are included. Fresh linen and towels are provided for guests staying for more than a week. Please note that WiFi is available in the Old Cottage but not in Croft Cottage. Both the Old Cottage and Croft Cottage can be booked individually or together. Please ask about special rates when booking both properties together. Regrettably we cannot accommodate pets or indoor smokers. Outside: The cottages have a private entrance, parking and gardens which are separate from our own home. Garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue is available for guests. We are close enough to offer any help and advice but assume that guests will wish to enjoy their privacy in this peaceful setting. Croft Cottage has a garden and private patio adjacent to the cottage. Guest parking is opposite the cottage by the wood store. The Old Cottage has a large private cottage garden to the front and side with lawns and fruit trees. Although our own house is "attached" to The Old Cottage we do not share any facilities and have a completely separate entrance, parking area and central heating.
