About the property

Finca in Biniaraix: large estate, located in the gardens of Biniaraix: near to beaches, set in the orange valley of Soller

This finca is located in the gardens of Biniaraix just a few minutes away from Soller. The spacious garden of 2000 square meters offers about 50 orange and lemon trees and lots of plants. One small terrace is just outside the kitchen and a perfect place in early morning. The spacious large terrace is sitting just a bit higher than the garden, our wonderful palm tree overlooks the terrace and offers quite some shade. The house is adjacent to another finca, but the neighbors can't look into any one of our rooms nor onto the terrace. The style of our finca is traditional. We have everything you will need to relax, to enjoy, to cook with family and friends, but there are no fancy items – one can still feel the traditional atmosphere of this former farm house, built by thick stones with wooden beams on the ceilings. In the bedrooms, the kitchen, the living room and the bathrooms the floors are covered with traditional tiles. Our casita, the little extra house is a treat in the evenings: we often go up there, enjoy the magnificent view and have a glass to drink. Our latest addition is a lovely lounge corner with comfy lounge chairs and a shady roof over it, so you may sit down there any time and enjoy some.The casita has heating for cooler times and aircondition in the summer.

The pool is in the back of the garden - when you swim in it, you will have breathtaking views into the mountains or you can just sit at the pool, use one of the many sunbeds and relax. For children´s safety, we have put a small fence around it.

In the middle of all this beauty we ask you two favors. Please have the main gate closed at all times, otherwise occasionally you might have a strolling dog visiting you. Cats: Never (!) feed them; we don´t want them in our estate and once you start feeding, they will come back. Thank you.

A note on cleaning. we have not integrated our cleaning rates into the General rates as this would give a wrong impression for clients renting longer than one week. The cleaning after your rental stay is 220€ for the main house and 50€ for the Casita, the one bedroom guest house. Should you stay longer, linnen and towels will be brought to the house after each week and old laundry will be collected by our caretaker. However, any inbetween cleaning would have to be paid by you.

About Matthias Trueper

For over 30 years my wife owned this lovely estate in the golden valley of Soller in the middle of the Sierra Tramontana. She is a mainly a house wife, I am a university counselor in Berlin. We try to spend a lot of time in Mallorca but rent out the house over a large part of the summer as we are both still working. But we put a lot of love into our Spanish home; we care for the house, the garden around it, the trees and the plants surrounding the house. While my wife has committed herself to make the house beautiful inside and outside, I love to work in the garden. It is my wife´s taste and style what you see inside the house. We thought long about a pool and now we enjoy it many times a day and from sparkling waters we have a gorgious view into the mountains and the orange trees.

Why Matthias Trueper chose Sóller

The beauty was irresistible. And we have now added some wonderful views and impressions. Early and late in the year, when sun still remains flat over the horizon, our pool terrace has full sunshine with probably the best views into the mountain range you could imagine. This view will never be distrubed by any other buildings, it is a place one won´t forget. During the summer season you have the same view, but most likely will sit under the large sun shades at the pool and we kn ow that many of our guests loven the late evenings at the pool. A different view again is from the roof of the Casita, the guesthouse, over the valley into the garden and onto then terrace. Itg is here or at the pool where we can catch the last glimpse of daylight. So we have many reasons for buying such an estate.

What makes this house unique

You have to experience it! Behind the orange gardens the mountains are climbing into the skies; long hiking paths will bring you up to the highest peaks and valleys of the mountain range Sierra Tramontana. Just in front of the mountains you may take a short walk to Biniaraix and Fornalux, two old picturesque villages. While Biniaraix is directly next to our Finca – don´t worry, it is calm and there is no traffic - one can take a walk of 20 min up to Fornalux. We both love to go there in the mornings, sit under the sycamore trees and enjoy the first cafe con lecce. Soller with its beautiful and inviting Plaza and the Calle de Luna are maybe 15 minutes walk from the Finca. It is pure enjoyment to sit there for example in Café Soller, have a cold water and enjoy.

We stayed in Finca Giret, Sollér for a week in 2013. We were 7 people including 3 couples. The rooms are very fine and the garden excellent for outside dining and grill. The pool are situated with a view to the mountains behind the villa and great seatings around. Garden with lemon trees and orange trees. The villa is placed in quiet environment with a small and narrow access road - small cars are recommended. Many nice locations and dining places in the vicinity, within driving distances or bicycling! Acces to walking trails are near. We enjoyed the recommendations from the owner very much. Using Google or alike: Google has difficulties finding our street Cami de Can Fennasset. It roughly shows our house only. Next to our street you will find Camion de la Horta de Biniaraix and that one is easy to find. Once you have found this, you can easiyl find the other street, our street - we are at the very end of it. Its a house with a large garden, two terrasses and a large pool.

Special interest holidays:

This is an area for walking, hiking, biking. We are near to family friendly beaches and great rocky coast lines.

Coast/Beach:

3,5 km to beach at Puerto Soller.

Travel:

Airport Palma 30 - 35 min by car. Car hire available at airport. For our Finca, don't rent large vehicles because of the small roads in Soller, Biniaraix and also towards the finca.

Distances:

200 meters to Biniaraix center. 1,5 km to downtown Soller.

We have a manual at our house and that will give you a number of additional hints. IMPORTANT INFORMATION - OUR LOCAL CARETAKER WILL MEET YOU IN SOLLER AND BRING YOU TO THE HOUSE AND INTRODUCE YOU TO ALL THE IMPORTANT FEATURES. Our caretaker speaks English fluently and is your primary contact while on the island. Once you have a contract you will receive from us contact Information and directions how to get to Soller and how to meet our caretaker. If you wish - we have developed together a description of our favorite sites and restaurants. Let us know and we will send that to you.

There are a few things you need to know. This is countryside, therefore under no circumstances leave food, sugar and alike open in the kitchen. Ants will be there shortly if you do that. Please do not take any type of food into any other room than the kitchen and the outdoor dining area.

In June through September it can be very hot. We have fans in the rooms and aircondition in the Casita, the additional guesthouse - but the best way to keep the house cool is to shut windows and shutters in the morning and throughout the day. This will prevent the sun and warm air to get into the house. This works well!

Notes on accommodation: Our Casita, the guesthouse directly opposite the house has another double bed plus extra bathroom. From mid April to end of September this is a perfect addition. For groups of 6 or less we recommend to rent without Casita guesthouse. On prices published, the Casita will cost 700€ extra per week. Unused rooms will be locked. Each bedroom has some cabinets or storage possibilities. Cleaning for main house is 220€ and if desired you may ask the cleaners in case of longer rental period to clean inbetween at your own cost. Cleaning of Casita is 50€. There are various sun shades (pool, main terrace). You are strongly advised to take them down and tie them before leaving for a walk or trip. Sudden and heavy winds may occur on the island. Outside: From the terrace in front of the kitchen you take a few steps on the roof of the Casita and have a magnificent view over the valley and into the mountains. Sitting here or having dinner is fantastic - our favorite place for the evening hours. The main terrace is in front of the main entrance.. All the windows of the ground floor go out to the terraces and the garden, while bedrooms 1 and 3 have a view into the garden and over to the mountains. The main shadow during the day is provided by our large palm tree and the sun shades. We are at the end of a very little and narrow road and this road ends at our house. Bushes surround the terrace and house. No view possible into garden from outside. The large pool (9x4 meters) is located at the end of the garden with a spacious terrace and a brilliant view into the mountains. Utility Room: Washer in separate room next to Casita, no dryer, but hanging possibilities behind Casita. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen available. For longer rental periods change is organized. Cleaning service after each rental period. Pool towels are available as well. Towels and linen are changed by our caretaker once a week if longer lets are agreed. Other: Three terraces, one with large dining table (seats 8 - 10 ), sunbeds, large shades and chairs, BBQ available.The Finca has WLAN. Taxes: Starting 2016, the government of the Balearean Islands has introduced a new tax for tourists. This ecological tourist tax, called ecotasa, has to be paid for each tourist on the islands. We pay for our guests.

Fabulous location.

The location is stunning. The photos here are fab but its even more staggeringly beautiful when you see the house in real life. I didn't want to leave the garden and pool area because of the magnificent views. We watched birds of prey flying around and the sun shone every day. I swam in the pool constantly and idled around admiring the views of the mountains. The house is cool inside and there is plenty of room to spread out. The 3 bedrooms are large with one having an en-suite.

The lane up to the house is narrow so do have a small hire car. A quick 10 mins walk up the hill takes you to a wonderful village called Biniaraix where there is a cafe and bar serving delicious salads, homemade cakes, beer and wine and hot food.

A 20 minute walk the other way takes you into Soller which is a cute little town with a tram line all the way to Palma. Here you'll find more life, lots of cafes and bars around the main square as well as cute little shops and restaurants on the side streets.

If you're looking for a fairly rural scenic location but have access to a larger town then this house is for you.

Stylish, sunny, beautiful finca

Once we'd navigated the bendy narrow roads after being picked up by a contact of the villa who meets you- we were astounded to see the villa. Pictures can't do it justice- it's one of the most beautiful we've stayed in. The stylish, quirky yet understated decor blends in perfectly with the surroundings and outside every touch has been thought of- from stunning lanterns, lights doted around the terrace- all enabling you to have perfect days- and long, relaxed evenings sat outside. When you are in the pool- floating around staring up at the mountains looming over you, life doesn't get much better! We stayed with 2 young kids and my mother- so 3 generations- and it worked perfectly. Room right at top is best for non kids/ older generation as gets steeper. A few more fans in rooms would be the only welcome addition- otherwise this is utterly perfect- inside, outside and it's stunning setting. You also soon get used to the roads around the villa and realise how quickly you can be in Port Soller- literally 5mins. Perfect location for any cyclists too.

A great property with fantastic views

We stayed in the Finca in late August - mid September 2016 and had a fantastic time. We were with our two young children (4 and 2) and my husband's parents. The house is very characterful with lots of land for the children to run around. The pool is set away from the house and is gated, so ideal for those with children. There is also an amazing view from the pool. There was lots of shade in the mornings as the sun rose behind the house. The location was great: in the village of Biniaraix with a bar and a cafe and a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to Soller. The only things to note are that there is no air con in the main house and so the nights were very warm and because of the age of the house the stairs are steep and uneven. But we had a fantastic time; the kids loved it and are still talking about it; and we are visiting again this year with the other set of grandparents! We recommend a very small hire car as the drive to the house is very narrow!!

Lovely Finca in a Beautiful Location

We truly did not want to leave this lovely finca in it's own orange grove. The finca is traditional in style with old uneven stone steps and the original cobbled stone floor in the sitting room area. This is not the property for you if you have mobility problems or perhaps toddlers who may struggle with the stairs but we loved it's character. The views from the finca and grounds were stunning and the saltwater pool was wonderful. We had delicious freshly squeezed orange juice from the oranges we picked in the grounds which tasted amazing! We loved the location and the town of Soller. We did not venture too far as we wanted to spend most of our time enjoying the pool and dining outside on the wonderful terrace savouring the view. There were hiking trials close by but we took more leisurely after dinner strolls around the paths around the property. My husband enjoyed his early morning runs around the paths and trials whilst myself and children enjoyed lay-ins in the comfortable beds with shuttered windows to keep out the early morning light!

We certainly recommend a stay at Finca Giret for those wanting either a relaxing or active stay close to both the mountains and beach as Port de Soller was only a 10 minute drive away.

Paradise at the foot of Tramuntara Mountains

The property is perfectly located for combination of hiking in the mountains with visits to charming villages, as well as Palma. Housed in an orange garden with an inviting pool, it is not difficult to enjoy holiday life here. Diversions with trips to Deia, Valdemossa, Soller, Fornalutx and not least the charming Port Soller resulted in making the stay as a perfect experience.

We provide host and his local organizer the best references.

Beautiful Finca with beautiful surroundings

Excellent place, very nice and clean house. The pool is making this finca to a perfect place for holidays. Short distance to Soller, and also to the pittoresque village of Fornalutx. It´s a perfect place for both walking in the hillsides and bicycling. We can highly recommend this finca for families and group of friends.

Changeover Day:
Usual changeover on Saturday - but we prefer other days of week (!!!) for your benefit with cheaper airline prices.. Leaving time 10 am latest, check in at 4pm on changing day. Why not enjoy 9 or 10 or 11 days?

The prices we have published here are the prices for the main house. If you wish to come with a larger group you might consider to rent our extra guesthouse, the Casita. Taxes:
Starting 2016, the government of the Balearean Islands has introduced a new tax for tourists. This ecological tourist tax, called ecotasa, has to be paid for each tourist on the islands. For our guests at the Finca, we will pay this tax, which will be between one and two euros a day and per person.

Liability:
If you cause a damage, please contact our caretaker immediately [ kitchen utensils, shades, sunchairs, loss of keys etc]. She will inform you about replacement cost. If something does not work, contact her as well. For larger damages, we ask you to use your private liability insurance, but please Report damage asap, take pictures and send to owner.

Feeding cats:
Strictly forbidden!

Caretaker:
Our local caretaker Vero is your primary contact. According to contract you MUST inform her and us about arrival details (flight# etc.) She will then arrange how and where to meet you.
