On the 3rd floor of block Raphael, with the best views of the three Royal Savoy blocks, this peaceful flat is close to the end of a corridor, so less people walk by the windows. The block has two lifts for access to the swimming pool/beach/car park levels. As well as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, there is a dining area, fully fitted kitchen, lounge area and balcony (with outside table+dining chairs and two reclining sun chairs). 'Mod cons' include a Sky Box, stereo, air-conditioning unit (master bedroom only), washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave. A UK 4-way plug adapter is also supplied as are games (for both adults and children). Rent includes weekly cleaning and linen change. Cala Vinyas boasts a luxury spa plus a small selection of restaurants and cafes. It's a quiet bay, 25 mins from the airport and far enough from Palma Nova and Magalluf to provide some peace while near engough to access the fantastic selection of restaurants, bars and other entertainment including aqua parks and go-karting.

About Paul

I own this flat and use it with my small children. We all love our holidays in Cala Vinas. We view the flat as our second home and, as such, it has everything we need for our holidays - it's not a scantily furnished rental property, neither is it full of personal items. It's a practical place to stay for a holiday. It's rented when we're not there to help cover the maintenance fees (not cheap due to the lovely grounds and well kept facilities). I used it before having kids and explored the many restaurants, bars and clubs on the island. With the kids, it's a little more restricting but the community atmosphere makes up for it, and, there's a kids club at the hotel opposite where the kids have a fab time.

Why Paul chose Badia de Palma

This apartment has been in my family for years and was bought because Mallorca is just 2 hours by plane and, if you open a bottle of champagne at the right angle on the balcony, the cork will land in the sea! The view is fantastic and holidays can be as relaxing (or otherwise) as you want.

What makes this apartment unique

It sounds almost trite but there really is everything we need for a perfect holiday. Friends and other people who have used the flat all want to return. The flat is great, the complex and people are great, the bay is great, the food is great and there is that wonderful Mediterranean sun, more often than not accompanied by a gentle sea breeze.

Notes on accommodation: Royal Savoy is a 'community' made up of mostly English holiday home owners. In the summer, there are kids (and adults) of all ages (kids are never lonely). Details of a babysitter can be provided. Cot bed, blow up bed, high chair and buggy/backpack available by arrangement (charged only at cost of cleaning). Some small children's toys, colouring books and crayons are also in a cupboard. Games include chess, backgammon, draughts, scrabble, playing cards. Sky Box provided with free to view channels (I believe you can bring your own card for full access). Mosquito repeller machines included. Internet access available at supermarket less than 100m from block. Air-conditioning in master bedroom only, ceiling fans in both bedrooms. Heaters in most rooms (sometimes necessary in winter). Outside: There is a communal pool for adults with adjacent kids pool, perfect for toddlers and babies, with it's own sun terrace. Large terraces on three levels, with plenty of comfy sun loungers, chairs and straw umbrellas. Within the private communal area are beautifully landscaped gardens and, less than 50 paces from the pool is a cafe serving snacks, drinks and restaurant quality food (daily specials and a great cooked breakfast) plus useful WCs and a barbecue (for rent). There's a tennis court on the car park level. The sandy beach also has sunbeds and sunshades plus, pedalos for hire, a children's play area, toilets and bar serving beer, cocktails and snacks. Beach mats and a few buckets and spades are in the cupboards together with some (old) tennis rackets. Across the bay is a hotel with entertainment, a great kids club and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (fixed price available). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels and linen are included and changed weekly - the whole flat is cleaned at the same time. More frequent cleaning is available - including daily (if you want the luxury of not even making your beds!). A few beach towels provided. Other: Balcony with lovely view, outside dining table + chairs, sunblind and two sun loungers. Light for night-time dining. Area for drying clothes with airer/washing line.

Cala Vinyas is a small bay with everything you really need for a great holiday. And, anything else you want, is only a short taxi or hire car journey away. Details of reliable car hire companies can be provided - they have a great way to avoid queuing for collection at the airport!


Palma Airport (and Ferry) is c. 25 mins by car/taxi. Transfers can be arranged at a reasonable cost.


Trendy Puerto Portals with super yachts and restaurants c. 10 mins car ride away. Casino a similar distance. Aqua park, Go-Karting and the famous Pirates experience only a 10-15 minute walk or very short taxi ride. The capital, Palma is a beautiful city with a host of attractions both day and night (c. 20 mins by car). Santa Ponsa and the beautiful fishing Port of Andratx are in the opposite direction 15-20 minutes by car.

Further Details:

Within a 5 minute stroll there are three small supermarkets, three restaurants, a hairdresser, bureau de change and sports bar (showing popular sporting events). A new diving centre is due to open Summer 2010. There is a beautiful spa with some lovely treatments, reachable on foot in under 5 minutes. Glass bottom boat trips start in the bay. Water skiing and banana boat rides available within easy reach. The on-site restaurant serves food all day in peak season, including a reasonably priced and very tasty full English breakfast. Bus stop nearby.

A non-returnable deposit of 25% is required to secure your reservation. Full payment is required at least 8 weeks before departure.
