About this property

Medieval Farmhouse Offers Spectacular Views Over Classic Tuscan Valley

Discounts on stays over 2 weeks... just ask.

This spacious 2 bed/2 bath apartment opens onto a private garden with spectacular views over an olive laden valley topped by the spires of hill-top churches. The garden features numerous places to enjoy the view - including a patio dining area with with a wysteria-covered pergola and a shaded alcove with bistro table. Crucial to a Tuscan summer there is a 10m infinity pool - again with wonderful views over valley.

Our appartment has been lovingly restored and we've retained the original features that make old Tuscan properties so charming - such as enormous chestnut beams, terracotta floors & ceilings and the original brick fireplace. At the same time we've added mod-cons for comfortable living such as wi-fi, a dishwasher, DVD and MP3 players and fans in each room.

The appartment is spacious and comfortable for a family of 4 (plus a little one with permission) or 4 adults. In the kitchen you'll find a large family table seating 4-6. And very well-equipped cupboards with all the matching china, glasses, table cloths and pretty Tuscan pieces to enjoy your inside meals. There is a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and to make life easier for you we provide many of the kitchen cupboard basics on arrival such as tea, coffee, salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, bin bags, dishwasher tablets.... there is even an emergency basket so if anyone arrives late and misses the shops there is food in the cupboard.

Through the brick arch to the lounge and you'll find more comfortable seating and flat screen TV. The TV has a chromecast stick attached and we use it mostly for watching Netflix or DVDs (We don't have satellite). You'll find loads of DVDs on the shelves including lots of children's films and cartoons. You'll also find lots of books, games, guidebooks, maps and tourist information.

There is a large double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds and the second bathroom is just adjacent. Both bathrooms are stylishly finished in the local travertine tiles.

Step outside of the front door and you'll be immediately hit by what all our guests say makes our appartment so special - - the wonderful views from our garden. Our appartment is directly at the top of a hill overlooking a wonderful green valley of olive groves with church towers on distant hills.. Sit outside in the sun for breakfast, enjoy lunch in the shade of the pergola, a dip in the pool, a BBQ in the evening, prosecco as the sun sets ... you always have the perfect Tuscan view.

Ripoli is tranquil but not remote. The bars and shops of little Cevoli are ten mins walk, supermarket less than five mins drive. Ideally located for Pisa, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano. Or undiscovered hill-top towns around Ripoli, the beach (40 mins) and the spa town of Casciana Terme with its thermal springs and massage treatments facials (10mins). This is a hidden gem of a location offering Tuscan authenticity with easy access to cultural icons.

Lovely well equipped tuscan apartment with beautiful views and lovely pool. A well situated place from which to do day visits to key sights or just relax and do nothing.

A fantastic location and the apartment has all that you need during your stay.
We enjoyed our first visit to this property so much that we returned after five years. The location is perfect - close to the airport and within easy reach of Florence and Pisa. The apartment is well equipped and the owner is particularly helpful in planning your visit.

Wonderful property
This property is characterful and has a lovely garden from which the view is stunning. It was my favourite place to sit, particularly in the early morning with the first cup of coffee of the day and then in the evening with a glass of wine. Everything you need is provided including lots of information on the apartment and the area. It is well situated for visiting the hill towns, Pisa and Florence. We visited Volterra, San Gimignano, Sienna, Monteriggioni, Lucca and Pisa. We also did a couple of local walks and spent time by the fabulous infinity pool. We shopped at the local supermarket and enjoyed the fresh vegetables, fruit, cheeses, bread and fish. We went the last 2 weeks in June which are a bit cooler and less crowded than July/August. The inside of the apartment stays cool including the bedroom. Although we were only there for 2 weeks we felt like it was home and are missing it now!

We are a retired English couple with three grown-up children and families. After many years looking for the perfect Tuscan retreat for all our family to enjoy we discovered Ripoli - and its fantastic combination of undiscovered rural Italy and proximity to cultural centres, beach and airport. Every member of our family loves our Italian home and we all come regularly to enjoy its peaceful location and local scene. We maintain the property well for ourselves, with the little touches that go beyond a holiday-home feel. We hope all our renters enjoy Ripoli as much as we do.
