We are Mike and Tina Budd.We live in the South West of England with Tina's Dad.

Both our grown up daughters and my brother and his wife on the Isle of Wight adore St Ives so the family love our choice of holiday home!

Neither of us are very keen on flying so spend most of our holidays in Cornwall although we did splash out on a cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary!

Why MIke Budd chose St Ives

Tina and myself (Mike) have been going to Carbis Bay and St Ives for 30 years. The children loved it when they were small and now in their twenties they still adore it. It was our dream to own our own apartment there and in February 2010 our dream finally came true. We knew exactly what we wanted and truthfully the apartment was acquired for us and trust me we are the fussiest tenants! It had to have a jaw dropping view and parking and unloading outside the door. We have stayed at many so called luxury properties and there has always been something that let it down from big things such as an uncomfortable bed to small annoying things like no scales to make porridge exactly how you like it (I told you we were fussy!!). We hope you like our attention to detail.

What makes this apartment unique

A superbly equipped,ground floor, modern apartment located in a peaceful corner of the popular St Ives area and is just a short walk away from the idyllic Carbis Bay Beach. As well as use of a shared garden Godrevy View enjoys a private decked area where guests can eat alfresco or just sit and read and enjoy the stunning view! The apartment has it's own private entrance and private parking space.

If you are into walking you can access the beautiful coastal path from the back garden. If you turn left you can enjoy the lovely views on the short walk to St Ives.

If you turn right and go down the hill you have a 4 minute walk to Carbis Beach.

We like to think we have catered for your every need and have tried to create a home from home environment.

Review 1: godrevy view offers excellent accommodation with great views over Carbis Bay and is within easy striking distance of St Ives. The 15 minute walk down the coastal path from godrevy to St Ives is a delight the apartment is of high specification and comes well equipped. We had a very relaxing an enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend it to friends and family. Mike and Tina are friendly and professional and everything was as promised on the website. Review 2: we just spent a week in the apartment and are not only impressed by the superb location but also by the tasteful, yet complete and high standard equipment. All of the things that help make your stay relaxing are there, most importantly the super-comfortable tempur mattress (excellent for back problems). Notes on accommodation: FREE WI-FI Outside: Immediately outside the apartment there is a private seating with a wonderful view across the bay. There is also a shared garden, again with stunning views where you can picnic. Utility Room: The cupboard off the hall has a fitted washing machine with built in tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedlinen are all provided (just need to bring flannels). The apartment is thoroughly cleaned every Saturday and guests have commented it looked 'sparkling' on arrival! The sheets and linen are also changed on this day.

Fabulous apartment in a fabulous place.

We had a fantastic break at Godrevy View. We have stayed in many holiday rentals both abroad & in the UK & this must be the most luxurious apartment ever!!

The view, as everyone says, is superb, straight out to Godrevy Point which is worth a visit in itself. We found lots to do - wandering the quaint streets of St Ives and visiting numerous restaurants. This was a culinary delight & we particularly recommend the Cellar Bistro where we spent our 20th wedding anniversary.

Another highlight was a visit to the St Ives theatre to watch Kidz R Us perform West Side Story. If this group are performing whilst you are staying at the apartment , don't miss them. Do not be put off by the term 'kids!!' This was a professional performance which we thoroughly enjoyed - it was great to see such talent.

The weather was very kind to us & we explored southern Cornwall from Fowey to Land's End. Fowey is also a treat - set on a harbour with local ferries running to neighbouring villages. Park at the top though - this village is particularly narrow & we saw many a car have to pull its wing mirrors in to squeeze through the tiny streets.

We also enjoyed walking the cliff path, with a picnic in the rucksack & camera in hand. However, the walk back up 'heart attack hill' meant we were glad of a glass or two on our return, sitting on the patio & working out the distances that we had just completed.

Would we recommend Godrevy View to others?? You bet!! This has been one of our best UK holidays ever

Outstanding apartment

The apartment truly is home away from home. We travelled from Western Australia for our holiday to the UK and can easily say that Mike & Tina's apartment was the best accommodation of our 9 week trip. The apartment is so well appointed, there is nothing we could have wished for that wasn't already there. The views are magnificent and to take them in with a glass of wine (or 2) was very memorable. A lovely stroll in to St Ives or down to Carbis Bay for a swim or lunch. Great owners who have gone the extra mile to ensure guests have a wonderful stay, thank you Mike & Tina.

Fantastic Apartment with a great view

A very prompt response from the owner to our booking was followed by very helpful and detailed information on the apartment and area before our holiday. The owner was very helpful concerning an issue which arose during the week and kept very good contact throughout.

The apartment is immaculately presented, extremely comfortable and has a great view over Carbis Bay. It has been very thoughtfully set up to make you feel at home. The South West coast path is easily reached by walking to the end of the garden and down to the beach. It's a 25 minute walk along to St Ives where there are plenty of shops, art galleries and eating places to choose from. The Harbour café is a great stop for very tasty fish and chips to eat in or out. You are also well placed for the train line to St Ives or Penzance and the local buses.

We would recommend this apartment and will be returning.

Simply hits the spot - like arriving home

Some things just hit the spot, don’t they? You know: the first cup of tea or coffee in the morning; closing your eyes as you sink into bed at the end of a long day; and arriving home. Well, having stayed at Godrevy View a few times now – and, I might add, not being even remotely tempted to look elsewhere – it’s always like coming home (and a mental tip which works for us is to regard it as such for the duration of the stay because you can only be in one place at a time so you may as well put where you normally live to one side in your mind).

The standard of the accommodation and everything in it, the joy of being in such a wonderful part of Cornwall – the world, in fact – along Mike and Tina’s now-legendary hospitality and attention to detail, make it a second-to-none place to be in. And as for the hugely variable Cornish weather, well you can either go out and enjoy it or brave it, as you wish, while all the time knowing that the well-equipped accommodation with its view is so nice as to make just staying in a pleasure.

Enjoy! We certainly do – every single time.

Owner's Response: Thank you for kind words Gerry. To be honest we created Godrevy View as a second home for ourselves, that we would let out, rather than setting it up a holiday let. We tried to resolve all the things that annoyed us about holiday lets in the area that we had rented over the 30 years before we were able to acquire this apartment. Hence the ultra comfortable bed and the attention to detail in everything we have provided. We both think it is lovely that guests feel so at home there and an added bonus is that everyone looks after it as if it was their own. We look forward to welcoming you again next year!

?perfect spot to explore Cornwall?

The apartment had everyting that we could need(even a beach bag to use) and everything was the latest model and in perfect working order. It was lovely to get up early and watch the sun rise over Carbis Bay. the walk to the beach through the garden and down a path was a good exercise for the day and well worth the trip as the beach and the facilities were excellent. It was in easy reach of a walk into St Ives and road trips to the Eden project, Lands End and Tintagel castle.

Less energetic guests will be pleased to know that there is a return train service (or of course a bus service) from Carbis Bay Station for about £2 per person. If you do love walking a good start would be the Carbis Bay to St Ives coastal path which can be accessed from the garden of our apartment.

There is a path from the back garden down to the St Ives to Carbis Bay coastal path. For the more adventurous it's only a 5 minute walk to Carbis Beach.


By Road - The M5 and M6 (south bound) lead to the West Country. From Exeter you can choose from two major holiday routes, the A30 and the A38. The A30 will lead you across Bodmin Moor, and by taking the A38 route you will enter Cornwall across the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth. The roads are mainly dual carriageways.

By Rail - There is a good service from most major cities. For St. Ives you will disembark just before the train goes on to Penzance, at St. Erth Station. National Rail Enquiries.


The apartment is a one stop train ride, lovely walk or 3 minute car journey from beautiful St Ives. St Ives is renowned for its wonderful array of beaches, galleries and shops including the Tate Gallery. Artists come from all over the world to paint or simply soak up the unique atmosphere and wonderful light.

There are so many things to do and places of interest to visit in Cornwall. The National Trust has many fine houses and gardens in the region.

Kynance Cove, The Lizard Point and Sennon Cove offer coastal walks with breathtaking views. A visit to The Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth museum are a must!
