About the Owner

My sister and I have been coming to the island since we were kids and have always treasured everything Menorca has to offer. Over recent years we have made a conscious effort to upgrade the quality and facilities offered in the villa to a standard our late father, who had the property built in the mid-80's, would have been proud of.

We both still travel to the island regularly and are pleased to be able to share the spectacular sunsets that are (almost!) guaranteed from our stunning villa.

Fabulous week

First time booking a private villa so we were apprehensive as to what to expect. We were delighted. The villa is stunning, well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous pool.

We were supplied with not only villa details beforehand but local information too and made good use of the restaurant recommendations!

Steps down into Son Bou are a bit of a workout especially when the weather is as gorgeous as it was for us but a great way to work off dinner!

Location

San Jaime is a small resort looking over the longest beach on the island, Son Bou, about twenty mins drive from the airport in Mahon. The nearest town is Alaior, about five mins drive and nowhere on the island is more than a half hour away, allowing easy access to see the beautiful harbours of Mahon and Ciutadella, play a round of golf at Son Parc or visit the various cheese, gin and leather factories dotted around the island. There are many benefits of renting a property in San Jaime, not least of all the glorious beach. Over 2kms in length, with crystal clear waters and excellent swimming and snorkelling, it is one of the finest beaches on the island. The resort itself is friendly and family-orientated and has a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops, catering for most tastes.

Coast/Beach:

Ten minute walk, two minute drive to the beach.

Son Bou is the longest beach on the island at just over 2kms in length. The sand is pale yellow and the water very clear and shallow, making it ideal for swimming and snorkelling. There are several lifeguards posted along the beach to ensure safe bathing and a flag system is in operation.

There are several beach bars all serving drinks, snacks and a full menu of food, including a rather good paella!

Watersports, banana boats etc are available.

Travel:

Mahon airport is a twenty minute car ride away. A taxi from the airport costs between €25-35.

Car hire is available from the main shopping area in the resort and whilst by no means essential, it is recommended in order that visitors can see the rest of the island and explore.

Distances:

Beach, shops, restaurants, bars are all within 1km of the villa.

Alaior is 6km away, Mahon a further 9km away.

Ciutadella, on the western tip of the island, is approx 30km away.

Further Details:

There are several cash points in the resort, several bureaus de change and a medical centre.

Changeover Day:
In most cases there is a flexible changeover day, depending on demand. Please note check in/check out timings will depend on flight timings. We may ask that you leave a few hours prior to your flight due to villa maintenance/new arrivals.

Notes on prices:
We ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the booking with the remainder payable three months prior to travel.

Cancelled stays are refunded as follows: Up to six months prior to travel - full refund; Three to six months prior to travel - 75% refund; One to three months prior to travel - 50% refund; Less than one month's notice - no refund will be given

Calle Pinar is the second highest road in the resort and enjoys spectacular views along the length of Son Bou beach and beyond towards the south-western tip of the island. The views are truly spectacular. The shops, bars and restaurants are a short walk away down several flights of steps, with the beach no more than a ten minute walk. Everything is within a two minute car ride. The villa is secluded from its neighbours with a surrounding of trees and bushes. There is a large swimming pool, two terraces, and a selection of comfortable sun loungers and armchairs. For those sticky summer nights, there is the benefit of remote-controlled air-conditioning in the three bedrooms.

  • Notes on accommodation: High chair and cots can be provided on request for an additional charge. Outside: The private swimming pool is approximately 11m x 5m. There is a built-in stone BBQ with adjoining table and seating area. The main terrace is large and can easily accommodate the sun loungers and dining table and chairs provided. Electric canopies provide shelter from the midday sun if required. The upstairs terrace has a small table and two chairs and enjoys a spectacular uninterrupted view along the south-western coast of Menorca. Utility Room: Includes washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, cleaning equipment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included and are changed on a weekly basis, if required. Property is also cleaned on a weekly basis.
