About the Owner

We live in Northampton, UK, and purchased this property in December 2009 having fallen in love with Barbados many years ago when travelling to watch England play cricket against the West Indies (not too successfully at that time).

Why Barbados? A combination of friendly people in a safe environment, year round warm weather (even the occasional rain is warm) and a wonderfully relaxing ambience. Oh yes - and the rum punches!

The best bit? Sapphire Beach is a very contemporary facility with its own well maintained pools and garden area plus direct access onto the beach. You can sit on the large balcony watching the sun set each day with a fruit or rum punch in your hand. It must be good as one couple even became engaged whilst staying there!

We had a great time. The apartment is great, love the island and the Barbadian people. We hired a car for one day and travelled along the south, up the east coast and back down the west coast. The rest of the time we used the reggae buses. Did a catamaran trip to the turtles - fabulous day. We will be singing the praises of Barbados and your apartment. Lynda, Steve, Gareth & Maria.

Your condo is beautiful. We really enjoyed the lovely breeze and used the aircon only at night. The proximity to the pool and the beach was perfect and we really appreciated that we were able to walk to dinner every night. Our interaction with local residents was warm and friendly. Lorraine.

Superb location and apartment

This is the third time we have stayed at this apartment and the location never fails to impress. We have stayed with both family and friends and is ideally suited for both, and indeed as a couple. The location is perfect and the view from the balcony is amazing. The pool area was very quiet throughout the holiday, but also only a two minute walk to the beach. And it is ideally suited for the Gap, where you will find a number of restaurants and bars which are suited for all ages. The apartment is well equipped and with a high standard of furniture and fittings, and nothing better than having breakfast or dinner on the balcony. The housekeeping arrangements are excellent and we had two phone calls to inform us of Storm Matthew to ensure we were prepared and fully stocked. An excellent location and apartment, we will certainly return for a 4th trip!

Truly Amazing

As the title suggests we really did experience a truly amazing holiday here. The apartment is well equipped for all your needs and is in a fantastic location on the beachfront. We were in the sea most mornings swimming with the turtles in the crystal clear water by 7am.

We hired a car for 4 days to travel the island - 3 days would probably have been enough and even enjoyed our trips on the local reggae buses.

If you are lucky enough to holiday on this beautiful island then a 5 hour catamaran trip is a must, swimming with turtles and snorkelling above coral reefs (we went with El Tigre where the crew were warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed the trip both on the boat and in the sea) . The apartment is located on the edge of St Lawrence Gap where there are many great and varied restaurants to choose from. Happy Hours are a great chance in indulge in the Rum Punches!

Finally a trip here wouldn't be complete without a Friday night at Oistins, we took a taxi there and caught a reggae bus back and a meal (or 2) at the fabulous Champers.

We loved the Bajan way of life, 90 minutes in every hour! and everywhere we went we were made to feel really welcome.

We will certainly be back.

Perfect

Our second time here, and we've already rebooked for this December. The apartment is exactly as described, clean, in a perfect location, and with everything you need. The owners provide excellent service including a very comprehensive guide to help you get the most out of your stay.

Amazing Place - Total Relaxation!

This was the third time at this property, as we can't quite find anywhere to match it. It is a stunning apartment and from the moment you arrive, you feel relaxed and refreshed.

The locals are very friendly (unlike some islands) and immediately you feel at home. I would thoroughly recommend the local businesses selling food and drink next to the beach - excellent value and very friendly.

The beach is amazing - plenty of places to get refreshments during the day if you like, and ask Kenny to get your sun beds ready for you every day.

Its also very convenient for many sights. A quick hop on the bus or taxi and you are at Oistins, or travel a little further to Holetown and Speightstown and enjoy the sunset at Mullins Beach.

Can't praise this apartment enough. Sitting on the balcony listening to the waves and the tree frogs is just bliss. I think we will be going again!

Paradise

We have travelled the world and been extremely fortunate to stay in the most luxurious hotels and resorts. However, Sapphire Beach Apartments with its location, weather, beach, sea, restaurants and friendly locals has surpassed anywhere we have stayed before in a self catering capacity. We are looking forward to revisiting.

Wow - perfect holiday!!

If you have an image of the Caribbean in your head then this is the perfect place to go and stay, it was idyllic! Sapphire Beach is an amazing complex, it's very clean and secure. The gardens are immaculate and are constantly tended. There are two pools and a couple of gates with direct access to the beautiful white sandy beach. The apartment was amazing, very spacious, clean and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The balcony is the ideal place to chill out whilst looking out over the beach and sea and enjoying a drink or two. Within a short walk you are in the Gap with great restaurants and bars and really friendly local people. Taxis were always on hand if you needed them. A huge thank you to Mark and Sue for the use of their apartment and for the detailed local information they provided. We had the best holiday ever and will definitely be going back - we loved Barbados and loved the apartment!

The Sapphire Beach Condominiums are located on Dover Beach which is at one end of St Lawrence Gap. The secure complex has two swimming pools and access to Dover Beach which is recognised as one of the best beaches on the island. The complex is within walking distance of all the restaurants & amenities of St Lawrence Gap including a whole range of restaurants, bars and shops plus plenty of buses and taxis to get to Bridgetown and Oistins (for the Friday night fish fry). We prefer the South Coast location to the West Coast because you can walk to the various facilities and the restaurants are better value.
