About the Owner

Normal, I hope, because we are that much older now, and we do like quiet and restful places. as being just 7 minutes walk from the edge of town, we have the best of both worlds.

perfect stay in a fantastic house

  • 5 of 5

Dear Colin,

we just returned from beautiful kavak evi and we would like to put a few words directly to you, perhaps you like to get a feedback.

It was a perfect stay for us and our choice for your house was one of our best decisions in the last years.

It was all there needed for a perfect holiday, we didn´t miss anything.

The house was in perfect condition, your just completed work was obvious and the children liked so much the pool with the steps down, very convenient for the youngest of our boys.

Aydin was always present, helpful and on hand if a question was on our mind and all the gardeners put a lot of time in keeping the bushes, trees etc in good shape...never seen that frequent before, you have good people at your side!!!

There was great enough space in the bedrooms and the balconies had that fantastic view...we enjoyed it every morning with first coffee seeing the sun climbing above the mountains...so peaceful...unable to put in words

You see Colin...we do love your house, one can get jealous about it:-))

We already decided to return in summer 2016 for at least 3 weeks and i´ ll come back to you when i have the exact dates concerning holidays next year.

That´s it so far Colin, thanks again for sharing that fantastic place with us and we´re keen on planning for the next year.

best greetings from Einhausen, Heidelberg, Hessen, Germany

Tom, Heike, Fynn, Janne and Leevi ( Klüppelholz )

From the Owner

The reason we picked Dalyan was, when we saw the place for the first time, we knew this was the place for us to buy, first we took a boat ride up the river to see the hot sulphur springs, and baths, and the mud baths, plus further on to the lake, which took us to the other side of the lake to another town, it was such a beautiful ride, then we turned around and came back to Dalyan, and went down river, which took us to the sea, and the beach, it was a fabulous boat ride, the area is nice and quite because, it's a conservation area, although there are lots of shops and restaurants, a post office, and a bank to change your money, where you get a good rate to the pound, and it's so cheap, and good value, and the people are very friendly, and it's not to crowded.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Dalyan is best known for its lush greenery, the winding river and a beach which is not just a natural wonder, but also won The Times Best Open Space Award in 2008. Over 6km of golden sands with access by bus, car and boat there are cafeterias at either end for refreshments, sun beds wicker work brolly's for shade but plenty of empty space amongst them, and dunes to escape to.

The nearest airport is dalaman which is a 35 minutes drive away. Once in dalyan car hire is not essential we are very central to town and town itself is small and everything in easy walking distance.

Everything is within walking or cycling distance in Dalyan. Kavak Evi is only an 8 minute walk away from restaurants, bars and cafes and the river. Fethiye and Olu Deniz are 50 minutes drive away. Marmaris is about 75 minutes drive. Both of those towns also have ferries to Rhodes.

Further Details:

Dalyan town itself is compact stretching only a mile in any direction from the centre and is framed by a glorious backdrop of pine clad mountains in every direction. The flatness of town make it a perfect place for walking with children and the elderly and a delight to cycle around. For more active holidaymakers there are forests and hiking hills all within walking distance. Dalyan is also distinguished by the lack of package tourists though there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. If you can’t find the items you want in the shops there is a sweet local market on Saturdays.
