JANER our Penthouse apartment, is ideally situated in Nerja town where you can go for a meal in one of the many restaurants walk to the famous Balcon de Europa or along the beach and enjoy a wine and walk back. The apartment has good quality furniture, good internet and uk Tv. The weather here is good all year round as the town is protected by the beautiful mountains. There are many beaches, some quiet and some with water sports. Nerja has many shops, cafes and beach bars. Explore the town on a horse-drawn carriage or by small train. The old part of town is virtually unchanged with narrow winding streets and iron terraces overflowing with flowers. The people of Nerja enjoy the visitors and have fiestas every month where you see their joyful character as they walk through the streets. From the apartment roof you look upon small pieces of land owned by the towns folk where they grow their vegetables and plants and enjoy their weekends on the beachfront. You can also see the river and the new walk-way which takes you to the beach and around the town with seating to enjoy views, and flowers all the way. From the roof terrace you can enjoy an evening meal and watch the sunset behind the mountains.You will never forget the views from here. The terrace is very large private and quiet. There are various sunbeds,chairs and tables for your use. There are also beach chairs,parasols etc to use when you visit the beaches.

About Dorothy

My husband and myself live in the countryside in Central Scotland which we love. We also have a holiday chalet next to our home which is available to rent for a break in Scotland. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the lovely views down the glen to the River Avon. We recently bought an apartment in Spain where we enjoy some winter breaks in the sun.

Why Dorothy chose Axarquia (Costa del Sol)

We have visited Nerja for a holiday every year for many years and grew to love the area. We have been looking to buy a place for a few years and bought this apartment as it was exactly what we had been looking for. There is always plenty to see and do in the town no matter what age you are. Plenty of beaches and water-sports. Lovely promenades along the edge of the sea where you can walk for hours. Good restaurants, tapas bars and cafes. Lots of shops for everyone's taste situated in the narrow winding streets, bars suitable for all ages and nationality. Nerja has won awards for the prettiest town on the Costa del Sol and you will see why if you come for a visit. The beautiful beaches with the dramatic mountains surrounding the town are a wonderful sight.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment has plenty of windows giving light and great views. We are only a very short walk to the beaches. We have fast internet and Tv from various countries. The apartment faces west to watch the evening sunsets and not to get full sun in the windows all day as it can become very hot. If we want the sun we have the roof terrace for sun all day. Air-conditioning also keeps it cool in the hot summer months. The private parking in the garage below is a great benefit if your carrying cases or shopping.There are supermarkets, banks, chemists, internet-cafes bars and restaurants within 100 meters. The apartment is very easy to find. As you enter the town turn right and the apartment is 400 meters down the road to the sea. You can see the beach from the roof and walk to it in minutes.

Special interest holidays:

This is an ideal area for walking.Lots of coastal paths,mountains and various small villages to visit and stop for lunch.Ideal beach holiday and winter sun. Plenty of shopping,restaurants,cafes,and bars to suit everyone. Very Safe town.

Coast/Beach:

On leaving the apartment you walk directly onto the new walk-way along the river which leads to the beach 150 meters. You will reach the beach minutes. If you turn left the various beaches along this side have all the sunbeds water sports and toilets. If you turn right the beaches are more natural with small bars and cafes where you can enjoy fantastic sea food. There is horse riding available here too. There are other smaller beaches throughout the town where you can have the beach to yourself.

Travel:

The nearest Airport is Malaga a 40 minute drive along the motorway, very EASY. If you do not wish to drive the bus or train run regularly from the airport to Malaga where you can get a bus to Nerja. The bus station in Nerja is in the centre of town but it is possible to stop the bus at the beginning of town to give you a shorter walk around 200 meters to the apartment. Taxis are also available around 75 euros from airport to apartment.

Distances:

Once in Nerja there is so much to see and do you probably will not want to leave. There is a beautiful old village behind Nerja called Frigiliana. Bus trips stop here regularly, it is worth seeing and only takes 15 minutes by car. Granada is the main city and has the beautiful Alhambra palace and gardens.Malaga another beautiful city to visit. Maro next to Nerja is famous for its dramatic caves.Various small villages along the coast are lovely too.

Further Details:

Nerja was a small fishing village but now has 20,000 people. It still has the old village style with only a few high hotels. It has a few large beaches and also small beaches all around the town. Here you can enjoy the clear sparkling water for a swim, dive or other water sport. The town has very stylish shops for all you holiday shopping. Numerous banks, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. At the centre of town is the Balcon de Europa with its magnificent promenade along the cliff edge overlooking the sea.The Balcon was once a moorish castle. There is also a small xv11th cent church in this square where everyone meets for various celebrations throughout the year. There are cafes all around this square.

Notes on accommodation: This top floor apartment is suitable for two people to enjoy a break together The apartment is situated in the town within easy walking distance to many bars and restaurants.It is in excellent condition with good quality furnishings.Free Internet in the apartment so you may continue to work if you choose or check your emails. We also have a droid box which enables you to see world wide channels and new movies.Roof terrace is 50m square and totally private.Only birds can see you here.The proper sized staircase with hand rail to the roof is within the apartment. free parking is below the building so you can get out the car and take the lift directly up to your front door. No need to climb other stairs.The apartment is managed by someone in Nerja so there is someone to contact for help if needed. The winter can also be enjoyed here.We have been on the beach many times throughout the winter months.The heating in the living areas and bedroom is very efficient and included in the price. Outside: On the roof terrace there is a large table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dining. Two sunbeds with comfy cushions to enjoy the sun all day and small tables for your drinks. There are 7 large pots overflowing with plants. We have a self watering system here to keep them healthy. There is a large covered area to keep out of the sun if needed but still see the fantastic views. This roof is totally private and while your sunbathing enjoying the sound of the waves nobody can see you. The views from here will hold you for hours, the mountains, the beach, the river, the farmers and the animals in the fields. You feel as if your in the country yet you are in the centre of the town. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The bed will be freshly made up for your arrival. Quality towels are also provided at no extra cost. The apartment is thoroughly cleaned between guests. If your stay is for 2 weeks or longer there will be extra linen and towels. Other: All heating/air con in bedroom and living room & fast wifi included in the price.Selection of novels for you to enjoy.Games,sewing kit,iron and ironing board, hair-dryer,Weighing scales for cases and other extras you may need on your holiday.

Fantastic Apartment

Just returned from a wonderful 11 night holiday,

The apartment was just like home from home with everything that you would need and more, location was great 10 min walk into the centre of the town.

The roof terrace was fantastic , very private with stunning

views of the hills and sea, sunsets was spectacular, just first class.

Already recommended to family and friends and would like to return.

Fantastic Apartment

Just returned from a great relaxing week in this very well equipped apartment.

The booking process was very easy and the owner Dorothy responded very quickly to any questions.

The apartment was spotlessly clean for our arrival and is very well furnished,

We had not stayed on this side of Nerja before but found the location perfect. Local shops and bars within minutes walk and the centre about a 10 minute flat walk away.

The apartment has a brilliant private roof terrace which gets sun from mid morning until sunset from here there are both sea and mountain views.

All in all we could not fault our stay here.

Great Apartment and Location

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday at the apartment. Perfectly located for shops/supermarkets and restaurants, and the beach, all within a leisurely stroll. Dorothy has thought of everything regarding equipping the apartment with everything needed for a great holiday. The listing is exactly as described here. The roof terrace is a wonderful bonus, for all-day sunbathing, or sitting out in the evening, after dinner. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to family and friends. We will certainly be returning, next year.

Perfect location, wonderful apartment.

My wife and I stayed for 10 nights and had a fantastic holiday. This apartment is exactly as described in the ad. What sets it apart however is the wonderful roof terrace with the super views over sea and mountains. The underground parking is a real bonus as street parking in Nerja is at a premium (certainly in the summer). The apartment is on the edge of the busy town centre but only a ten minute stroll away, and near to supermarkets and shops. The owner Dorothy couldn't have done enough to make our stay better. Thank you Dorothy ! Would recommend to friends and family. Already planning our return.

A deposit of £200/220E would be required to secure booking. Full balance would be required normally 6 weeks before holiday along with a security payment of £200/220E. The security payment would be returned to you once apartment had been checked and keys returned. Payment can be by a Sterling cheque or bank transfer-Spanish bank or UK bank.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is preferable but other days accepted out with peak season. Arrival is after 3pm and departure is 10.30am but may be flexible.If you have a late flight it may be possible to extend the departure time but there may be an extra charge.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per week. We may consider a short break outwith the busy holiday periods. Please enquire by e-mail.
We will accept British sterling or Euro as payment.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
