Overview

About the property

Barn Conversion in Over Stowey, Bridgwater, Somerset, England, UK - Peaceful, Rural Location Within Minutes Of The Quantock Hills And The West Somerset Coast

The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two, having just undergone a recent refurbishment. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies. Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.

Lovely cottage and area too

  • 4 of 5

Great place to get away from it all. But positioned with plenty to do both on your doorstep and in the outlying area. Nice pubs and food nearby and a good butcher in town. Hosts were great v helpful for any Q's. We didn't need lots of Internet so not a problem to us but poor wifi signal if you do !

Owner's Response: The Granary is situated in a rural location so the internet signal can be much slower than in urban areas. However, we do ask guests to let us know if they are having trouble accessing the wifi as a simple reboot solves the problem.
