Self-Catering Granary Barn Conversion In The Quantock Hills

Updated: 21-Oct-2016
Barn Conversion in Over Stowey, Bridgwater, Somerset, England, UK - Peaceful, Rural Location Within Minutes Of The Quantock Hills And The West Somerset Coast

The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two, having just undergone a recent refurbishment. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies. Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.

Peace and tranquility!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in The Granary on Pear Tree Farm. Roy and Vivienne are great. The property is wonderfully situated on a quiet road. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very comfortable bed and furnishings. Lovely private patio overlooking the country side and the horses. Made some of our own meals in the well equipped kitchen. Recommend the Cottage Inn for Sunday roast!

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay here, nice quiet location but still easy to walk, cycle or drive to local village and pubs etc. Roy and Vivienne Osborne let you enjoy your holiday but are there if you need them. Enjoyed saying hello to their two horses each day and waking up to birdsong each morning. Recommend the Lamb Pub in Spaxton.

Very cozy retreat in a glorious location

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I and our hairy baby (Cooki the Shi-Tzu) stayed in the Granary for a long weekend in May 2016.

The property has been very lovingly restored and was just to our taste and the views across the Quantocks make getting up in the morning a joy!

All in all we would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Viv and Roy are very friendly and helpful and on hand If required. The property is clean and very well presented and the local walks are truly very special. My only gripe is that we didn't have longer here.

Fantastic holiday accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the granary barn and didn't want to go home! It was so clean and well maintained. The area is so picturesque and peaceful and has lots of places to visit. Via and Roy made us feel very welcome. Would certainly recommend this accommodation to family and friends. Would definately stay again.

The cottage was well appointed, clean and well maintained. Lovely views, quiet and the use of a private garden. 10 minute walk away good food at local pub.

Excellent location for touring the area.

Idyllic part of Somerset

Would like to keep this a secret but have to share with others as Viv & Roy have a beautiful accommodation setting in Somerset. With lovely views of the country side for a peaceful and restful stay.
