Cottage in Brigham, Nr. Bassenthwaite, Lake District, Cumbria, England - Relax At Our Grade 2 Listed Cottage With Log Burning Stoves, Set On A Secluded Courtyard

West Croft Cottages were converted from a range of old stables and are Grade 2 listed. Exposed stonework and beams are a delightful feature that are accompanied by a wood-burning stove. The Stables is situated on a secluded private courtyard in the quiet village of Brigham (which has a village shop and traditional butchers) just outside the Lake District National Park, 2 miles from the market town of Cockermouth and 8 minutes from Bassenthwaite Lake. It is an ideal base from which to explore the quieter lakes and mountains of The National Park, and take in the attractions of the increasingly popular Solway Coast and West Cumbrian coastal towns and villages. Our games room has a full sized snooker table, a table football machine and a piano. A relaxing cottage to return to after a day enjoying the beauty of the Lakes.

Hello Mark, Just a quick line to thank you for accommodating our extended family last week. The cottage exceeded our expectations and we felt really at home. The games room is excellent - pity I couldn't rediscover my former ability on the snooker table and kept getting thrashed by my sons-in-law (who I reckoned to be no-chancers before last week). Lovely cottage in a great location .

We enjoyed our two night stay at The Stables. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent! There was even a box of chocolates on arrival,thanks.This is a lovely part of the lake district to explore,much quieter than other parts of the lake district.Highly recommended.

The beaches that border the Solway coastline are just 20 minutes drive away. The beaches are unspoilt and undoutedly represent a hidden gem of this part of the Lake District.


Keswick 20 minutes drive. Cockermouth 5 minutes drive

Buttermere, Bassenthwaite Lake, Loweswater 10 minutes drive. Carlisle 45 minutes drive.
