Apartment in Collioure, Pyrenees-Orientales, Languedoc - Just 10 minute walk down to the beaches, cafes, shops, restaurants and buzz of Collioure

A bright, modern well equipped newly furnished apartment. The development itself is one of the newest and much desired in Collioure and has large areas of communal gardens. The swimming pool (open 15 June to 30 September) offers showers, changing rooms and toilets. We are also situated just minutes from the tennis club of Collioure. Opposite is an excellent vineyard offering fantastic local wine. There is also a private parking space.

Wonderful and private apartment

What a delightful apartment! So wonderfully well equipped and the owners have thought of everything. The garden is very private but gets the sun most of the day and there are plenty of loungers and chairs. The open plan living room is spacious and comfortable and there is a good selection of DVDs. It is about a ten minute walk into Collioure, and being slightly out of the busy centre is a great benefit.

I was very impressed with the detail provided by the owners as I was travelling on my own, but I had no trouble finding the apartment and everything worked perfectly. One of the best!

The perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of France. We first visited Collioure 15 years ago and fell in love with it then. The apartment was perfect. Extremely well equipped, clean and bright. The garden was a real bonus. The centre of Collioure was very busy, so it was lovely to come back to the peace and quiet of our apartment. The pool was well maintained and never busy. We absolutely loved it and will certainly return. The owners were extremely helpful prior to our arrival. Highly recommended.

Special interest holidays:

All year round Collioure is a fantastic base for those wishing to hike, walk or cycle. Nestled in the foothills of Pyrenees, Collioure is ideally located to enjoy the drama and beauty of the mountains - as well as the sophistication and indulgence of this wonderful town.


In Collioure itself there's a choice of five beaches - pebbled or sandy. The beaches also stretch from the town for a total of 15km and the main ones have safe swimming zones and lifeguards in season. Many are never crowded and there is plenty of parking in most places. 20 mins away is an inland lake at Villeneuve de la Raho, again with lifeguards and safety zone.


By plane there are many choices including Perpignan (30 mins), Gerona (75 mins), Carcassonne (90 mins), Toulouse (2h 30 mins), Nimes (2hrs), Montpellier (2hrs), and Barcelona (2h 30 mins). A car is not essential once you are here, but great to have as there are so many places to visit. There is a private parking place with the apartment.


Places worth visiting nearby are: Port Argeles (5 mins); St Cyprien Plage (20 mins) – a large, modern marina and port with stunning mainly empty beaches; Gerona (60 mins) a bustling but ancient Spanish city; Carcassone’s (90 mins) castellated splendour; Barcelona (150 mins) Spain’s second city; Andorra & The Pyrenees (130 mins). Ceret (30 mins) once home to Picasso and well worth a visit. Local buses and trains are available from the town centre.

Further Details:

Collioure has been labelled the jewel of the Côte Vermeille - atmospheric, unspoilt and nestling by the sea with mountains providing the backdrop. The picturesque old town provides plenty of historical interest and culinary delights.


The excellent Tourist office provides a range of guidebooks. Hill walkers will enjoy trekking up to the mountain summits. There are also more leisurely strolls to be taken around the coast and within a short walk of the apartment.


It is possible to catch a market every day in the region. Every Wednesday and Sunday stroll down to the market offering local crafts and fresh farm produce in the centre of Collioure. For fish lovers there is a daily fish market in nearby Port Vendres.


Sample and pick up some of the spendid local Red, Rosé and White Collioure wines produced on the mountain terraced vineyards.


Collioure`s Good Friday procession of hooded penitents is about the richest this side of the Pyrenees. Altogether more joyous are Fetes de la St-Vincent (14-18 August), celebrations in honour of the towns's patron saint, their highlight a spectacular firework display on the 16th.


In season, from April to October, a journey with spectacular views, on the little yellow train, through the vineyards. Past the restored windmill and forts and over the hill to nearby Port Vendres is a must.

Being close to the border with Spain, you are within a one hour drive or train journey to the famous Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, and you can be in the bustling city of Barcelona within two hours.

Collioure has shops, boutiques, bars, cafés and restaurants. Your dining choices range from take-away pizzas to the Michelin starred ‘Le Neptune’ and Le 5'ieme Peche. All this and countless galleries reflecting Collioure’s Fauvist art heritage, gift stores and two markets.
