Apartment in Gran Tarajal, Fuerteventura - Tranquil Location, 5 Minutes Stroll Through The Marina To The Beach And Restaurants

The apartment has 3 large double bedrooms and a seperate kitchen. The living area / dining room is large and modern and has wonderful views of the sea. There is a private terrace, which can be covered, with another dining area and sun loungers for private sun bathing. The terrace is South facing and has the sun all day. The property is just a 5 minute stroll through the harbour to all amenities, sea front restaurants and a blue flag beach. Gran Tarajal is unspoilt by tourism and has the charm and elegance of a typical fishing village. It's a truly authentic village with steep lanes leading down to the seafront

About The Owner

We are the family Van Bogerijen. Mark, Sandra, Olivia and Emily. We moved to France in May 2007 and have lived here since, after living all our previous lives in the UK. We have two properties for rental. 1) The villa in France is a new build. It is modern in terms of build and decoration but we think the best feature is its location and the views. You have panoramic views from the pool, the terrace, the barbecue area and from every window in the house. (2) The apartment in Fuerteventura is also new build and the quality of the fixtures and fittings is excellent. The view of the sea and mountains are amazing. Why The Owner chose Tuineje

We soon realised though that it also gets cold in France in the winter so we wanted an option for winter sun. Therefore we bought in Fuerteventura, we are not normally impulsive but he minute we saw the apartment we bought it!

What makes this apartment unique

We the love the peace and quiet. The views of the ocean and the mountains are lovely and we love to relax away from the hustle and bustle. The build design ensures you maximise views but ensure privacy. The pool, gymnasium and facilities are excellent. We also like to engage in the Canarian culture and often wander down through the marina to the many restaurants on the sea front. We enjoy the local dish of goat stew or fried kid with bottle of Rioja or of course we love fresh fish and Canarian potatoes.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is suitable for couples or small families Outside: Spacious and private 40 sq. m terrace with uninterrupted sea views, dining table and sun loungers. The terrace can be covered with an awning. Exclusively for residents there is a 25m adult pool with a depth of 1.4m. There is also a seperate gated smaller children's pool. The gymnasium, again soley for residents usage, has two running machines, two cycle machines (which have views of the seafront), various weight machines and a large mirrored area for workouts. Utility Room: Separate utility room just off the kitchen with a washing machine, iron and ironing board and a clothes maiden for drying. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are of a high standard and are professionally cleaned to have quality feel. Wonderful apartment in a Spanish town

The previous reviews say it all.This is a wonderful clean and comfy apartment with indoor and outdoor seating and dining tables.

All answers from the owner to my initial enquiry and subsequent confirmation of booking and payment were received by return. The information on the apartment, resort contact details and the surrounding area, emailed to us prior to our holiday, covered everything we required.

During our stay the toilet in the bathroom, there's a second one in the cloakroom, developed a fault so we reported it to one of the management team and it was fixed within a couple of hours. Excellent service. We didn't use the washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave or iron but they are there for those that require them.

There's a good bus service if you wish to explore a little without hiring a car.

To sum it up everything in Gran Tarajal is low key. There's a choice of restaurants, including Indian and Chinese, and cafes along the beach but none of the usual shops aimed at the tourist. No large hotels or loud music. Just a few tourists and a lot of locals enjoying the November sunshine. We loved it.

Fabulous location, great apartment

We loved being in a real Spanish town rather than one of the many touristy towns we passed through on our excursions. It was lovely sitting in one of the seafood restaurants on the waterfront watching kids rollerblading by, playing football and doing gymnastics on the beach, our son joined in the football with the Spanish kids which was great.

We also enjoyed being just outside town where it is quiet and peaceful, and particularly the views directly over the sea from the apartment.

The apartment is spotless, really well equipped and comfortable with English and Spanish TV, good WiFi speed, books available and a great house book with various guides, maps and leaflets provided.

We were very pleased that the pool was a good temperature for swimming even in April. The sea was also very pleasant for this time of year.

There are some beautiful beaches just a couple of bays South of Gran Tarajal well worth the short drive.

Top Tip! The restaurant just below the apartment (3 minute walk) does an amazing "parillada" - a mixed fish platter - and the best calamari we have ever had.

Highly recommended for an out of season break if you are looking for some sun and relaxation away from the more touristy areas.

Absolutely perfect

We were looking for a town away from the fleshpots of Corralejo, and Gran Tarajal certainly fitted the bill. It seemed to us during our 4 week stay to be a real Canarian town that just happened to be by the sea....a smattering of Spanish is very useful.

The apartment and location is exactly as per the description. We were blessed with very good weather, but the arrangement of the enormous terrace makes the most of all day sun and shelter from most winds.

We will certainly try to book again.

A memorable week

My friend and I stayed for a week at this lovely,spacious and very well equipped apartment . Gran Tarajal itself is a really nice town. It's a 20 minute walk to the restaurants,passing a fish restaurant on the way which is not to be missed. We had a good deal on a taxi transfer from the airport. From then on we used the local transport and enjoyed several days out. The tourist kiosk in the town was informative to this end. There are some lovely shops and a bustling little harbour. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment nor the area. Yes,it gave us a memorable week.

A Memorable Week

This is a lovely apartment with a superb view from the huge terrace capturing the sun all day. It is very clean and comfortable. A 20 minute stroll takes you to the good selection of restaurants passing a very popular fish restaurant on the way. This one is not to be missed! A taxi back costs €2.35 during the day and 30 cents more at night. We had a taxi transfer from the airport and then made good use of the local transport. The tourist information kiosk was very helpful and the local buses frequent. There are no all day breakfasts in Gran Tarajal and no one begging you to dine at their restaurant. Some days ours were the only English voices we heard. So yes,Gran Tarajal has lots to recommend it and left us with a very memorable week.

This is an excellent apartment! Modern, clean and well equipped. The terrace is the best we have ever found, the view of the ocean is spectacular. It gets full sun for almost of the day and is sheltered from the Fuerteventura winds. It's easy to while away hours on the terrace with a glass of wine (or two)

Everything in the apartment was good, the furniture, the bathroom and the kitchen. We couldn't really fault it.

The complex is well maintained and very clean, there is a gym, and a lift if you are not happy with stairs. Staff are on site and are welcoming. The pool is great, with sun loungers but it's not heated so you need to be very brave if there in winter.

The town has everything you will need for a great holiday. There are 2 excellent supermarkets and a range of shops and restaurants. There is a beach within walking distance (dark sand).

Booking was easy and communication was prompt.

All in all a great value apartment if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday.

You can see a rocky beach from the terrace but there is a blue flag beach is just 5 mins walk through the harbour. Fuerteventura is well known for its beautiful golden sandy beaches and the apartment is well situated to visit the best just South at Costa Carma


Property is located just 30 mins drive for the airport.


5 mins walk (through the harbour) to beach, restaurants and local amenities in the town. 5 minutes drive to Las Playitas which has golf course, olympic sized swimming pool and access to all water sports.

Further Details:

Fuerteventura basically has over 300 days of sunshine a year. The second largest of the Canarian islands but it is the least populated and the least developed in terms of tourism. The beaches are simply the best and likened to those of the Caribbean.

The island still has the authentic feel with small untouched fishing villages. Food lovers should try the local delacacies of fresh goat meat or, of course, freshly caught fish with seasonable vegetables and Canarian style potatoes. There are also some very nice Rioja's and dry white wines
