Voted one of the top three 'best places to live' in Britain by Country Life magazine. Fowey is a bustling sailing port on the Fowey Estuary, set in stunning countryside, with dramatic beaches nearby. Known for its sailing, walks, stunning views, and vibrant streets, Fowey is a gem in Cornwall and inspiration to many of Daphne Du Maurier's books. It is also home to the annual Du Maurier literary festival and the Royal Sailing Regatta. Fowey has an eclectic mix of independent shops and colourful restaurants, pubs etc. Apart from the sailing Fowey has access to some of Cornwalls fantastic beaches, kayaking, stunning walks and within easy reach of Eden project. Please note that these are non-smoking cottages. Both of these properties can be rented out together to accommodate the larger party.

Clean and cosy cottage with all the charm of Cornwall on its doorstep. 2 min walk from estuary front and to catch the ferry to Polruan. The cottage has a lovely, warm feeling when you first enter. The miniature Christmas tree and lights around the fireplace were a lovely touch. It's like home from home as there is everything you need for your stay. Would highly recommend. The only drawback is that you need to be able bodied to stay in fowey as the main car park is at the top of the hill and it's not a flat holiday destination. But this has given me the kick I needed to start my fitness regime which I've continued back home. Would definitely like to return sometime xx
Great property with good location walking distance to the Ship - good food and warm welcome. We will be back!
First impressions of the cottage were disappointing . It was cold and unwelcoming and seemed somewhat drab and cramped. We arrived quite late so it was not a good start to find no welcome pack. I think it's the first time we've ever rented a holiday apartment without at least milk in the fridge. As the cottage is a short walk from the town it didn't really matter too much as we could eat out in one of the excellent restaurants. Another problem was that we'd forgotten our towels! Also coat hangers would have been useful.
Anyway , we settled in and passed a reasonably comfortable night and were able to get basic supplies from the nearby corner shop and fresh croissants from one of the great bakeries. A bunch of daffodils brightened up the living room. By now we were feeling more positive but cold. We phoned Sue, the caretaker, who was round within minutes to get the heating adjusted. We went to collect the car from the Main Car Park. We are from Lincolnshire and quite ancient. The climb was a shock!
After a week we were getting quite possessive about the cottage and were getting used to the climb. While not a luxury cottage it is clean, comfortable and has everything one needs. The long climb to the car park makes it more suitable for younger renters. All in all we enjoyed staying there.
This was the first time we'd booked self catering accommodation as hotels were always favoured. However after this trip to fowey and staying in littlesteps cottage I'd be doing it again. This was a great place to stay, great location in the old part of fowey. The accommodation was great with good views of the town it felt like home from home. After a long day out each day it was nice to just relax in what felt like your own little Bolt hole.
We found the cottage enchanting with lovely views overlooking the church and peeps of the harbour. The cottage had everything we needed to enhance our stay. We were blessed with good weather and really enjoyed exploring Fowey with its local restaurants and shops, enjoying the authentic cornish pasties a little too much! Lots of walks to Foweys surrounding bays and coastal paths with fabulous views. We can't wait to revisit
