Sitting room: Includes a two seater sofa and two comfy arm chairs, HD Smart TV and an electric 'wood burning' effect stove. New shutters to the window. Redecorated.
Kitchen/dining room: Completely refurbished and upgraded fully fitted kitchen with dining area for 6. Views of the garden and Church. Integrated appliances include electric oven/grill with halogen hob and extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge with ice box. Nespresso machine (bring capsules). Shutters to window.
Bathroom: Completely refurbished and upgraded bathroom includes luxury walk in shower, sink, heated cabinetheat ed towel rail. Separate WC.

Known for its sailing, walks, stunning views, and vibrant streets, Fowey is a gem in Cornwall and inspiration to many of Daphne Du Maurier's books. It is also home to the annual Du Maurier literary festival and the Royal Sailing Regatta. Fowey has an eclectic mix of independent shops and colourful restaurants, pubs etc. Apart from the sailing Fowey has access to some of Cornwalls fantastic beaches, kayaking, stunning walks and within easy reach of Eden project. Please note that these are non-smoking cottages. Both of these properties can be rented out together to accommodate the larger party.

We require a 25% non refundable deposit on booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. Should you cancel within eight weeks of departure, we reserve the right to retain payment should the dates not be resold. Should you wish to pay by Credit card via a UK bank a charge of 2.5% be added to the total amount. Short breaks are also available - please ask.

Beautiful property, fab location, highly recommend
Thank you again for a wonderful trip. A lovely, cosy, warm and welcoming cottage in a great location. As soon as we open the door to the cottage it is like arriving home and we feel instantly relaxed. The cottage is beautifully kept and we love that it is always updated every year. We have now visited three times and look forward to returning again this year.
A cosy comfortable cottage ideally situated in Fowey
We had a very enjoyable stay.Although in the centre of Fowey it is quiet inside with a private attractive deck area.The drawback is the difficulty unloading the car with very limited places to briefly pull in ,but this is a very common problem in Fowey.Longsteps is within easy walking distance of all the shops,restaurants,beach and ferry.
A quaint cottage in a great location with views of the church and estuary.
The cottage is a good size for 5 people with an excellent outdoor patio area. The cottage requires a makeover as the rooms were tired. The tiled floor to the kitchen was disgustingly dirty, the kitchen worktops were in need of replacement as the edge laminate was coming off. The stair carpet at the top of the stair was threadbare. (looked as if a cat had been pulling at the carpet in the corner of the stair) The bathroom needed upgrading, mould was visible around the bath and shower door.
I had to clean out the drawers to the main bedroom as these were dusty. The wall lights in the main bedroom are not fixed well enough to the wall, one bedside light near the door did not work but as i touched the fitting the lamp camp on. The laminate to the bedside cupboard top was peeling off in a number of places.
The smoke sensor was mounted vertically, the documentation for smoke sensor always says mount horizontally on a ceiling.
Other concerns were the GAS certificate was out of date (dated 10/02/2015) due for renewal on the 10/02/2016.
Electrical inspection and test was dated out of date (dated 29/12/2003). Electrical inspections are required every 5 years.
These inspections are requirements in law and the landlord is responsible to ensure these are in date, this is particularly concerning where children are occupying the premises, especially when low level light fittings and their wiring are dangerous.
The cottage is very close to the sea front and Fowey is a lovely place to visit. Access to the cottage is directly off the main road through Fowey.
We did manage to look at the adjoining property "Littlesteps" during our stay, this was by far better accommodation and the refurbishment had been completed here. If refurbishment is completed at "Longsteps" and the statutory requirements are in date this could be a 5 star accommodation.
Un séjour cosy et reposant
Parties à 5 amies françaises, nous avons découvert ce superbe petit village de Cornouailles, dans l'estuaire de la rivière Fowey. Le petit bourg plein de charme nous a offert des promenades superbes sur les chemins côtiers, avec des paysages variés : vertes collines, falaises rocheuses, mer turquoise et jolies villas aux jardinets fleuris. La maison confortable est superbement agencée : charme et confort, avec tout ce qu'il faut pour un agréable séjour. La vue de la terrasse est inoubliable. Calme assuré. Nous avons trouvé les clés dans un boitier à code, sans aucune mauvaise surprise. Bref une location à recommander.
The house is centrally located in Fowey and restaurants, cafe's & bars can be found within a minutes walk from the property.
The house was smaller than expected, but that's just personal perception, and it had everything we needed for our week long visit to Fowey in March.
Perfect family Easter
Longsteps was wonderful. The perfect family base a minute's walk from Fowey harbour & shops. Cosy, full of character and with everything a family could need. Couldn't recommend it highly enough... :-)

Fowey has a unique and ancient charm which holds a special fascination for visitors of all ages.
Fowey is renowned for sailing in the estuary and attracts both experienced and novice sailors alike. Fowey Regatta week is the highlight of the social calendar, with Sailing, The Red Arrow Display Team, Carnival, Fireworks display and lots of live bands being but a few of the events taking place.
Private boat hire, sailing, canoeing and diving lessons are all available from Fowey.
Lots of lovely walks around the superb National Trust land and beautiful coastlines and beaches that surround Fowey.
We have two bathing beaches in Fowey, Readymoney Cove, a small sandy beach 15 min stroll from the town centre and Whitehouse Beach which is on the Esplanade, and only a 5 min walk from the town centre. Polkerris Beach is 15 mins drive away and has two nice restaurants.
Buses run regularly from Fowey into Par and St Austell and to the nearest train station, Par, which is only 5 miles from Fowey.
There is a seasonal local Fowey Town Bus that runs throughout the day.
The Polruan ferry runs from early morning, throughout theday and into the evening. The Bodinnick car and passenger ferry also runs continuously throught the day and evening and makes a quicker journey to Lerryn, Pont and Mixtow and all points east!
Eden Project - really worth seeing - 15 mins drive.
Padstow - Rick Steins restaurants are only 40 mins away.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 15 miles away.
Lanhydrock House (National Trust) is only 7 miles away.
The cottages are in the centre of the town with all the main restaurants and amenities within short walking distance. Some of our top tips:
Pinky Murphy's - try the Pinky's Plater.
Brown Sugar - coffee and cakes - fab pancakes.
The Ship Inn - traditional pub with a real fire.
The Galleon - great river views and plenty of atmosphere
Sams - brilliant burgers and seafood.
Nathan Outlaw at the Marina Hotel - for Michelin stars.
We have some fantastic local shops including Fowey Fish, which sells locally caught fresh fish and has an extensive selection of wines. Nile's bakery sells fresh bread and cakes. In addition we have a super local butcher, deli and green grocer - you really don't need your car!

- Notes on accommodation: Both Longsteps and Littlesteps newly refurbished for 2017, very well appointed, tastefully decorated, comfortable and fully centrally heated. Very rare in Fowey, they both have fantastic outside space with great views and plenty of seating. Bed linen included. Towels not included. Dogs may be accepted on request at an additional charge of £35 per week. Outside: Longsteps: The back door leads out onto a good size private decked patio. Lovely views of St Fimbarrus Church and glimpses of the estuary. Littlesteps: The back door leads out to a good size private garden with table/chairs, which enjoys fantastic views of St Fimbarrus church and towards the woods on the other side of the estuary. The patio leads onto the garden to a further seating area in a pergola where you can enjoy the views of the church and the estuary.
