Restored Farmhouse with Stunning Views

Updated: 02-May-2016
Farmhouse near Casoli (Val di Sangro), Chieti, Abruzzo - Peaceful Location, Beach and Mountains close by

Casa Posta is a restored 300 year old italian farmhouse nestling in the Val di Sangro valley of Abruzzo. This is an area of stunning natural beauty. The original house comprised of 4 large rooms and was was once used as the post house for the village. These rooms have been tastefully converted into 3 bedrooms (double, twin, single) shower room, kitchen/dining area with log burning stove and separate lounge. The kitchen and lounge open on to the south facing courtyard and garden through french doors. Each bedroom has high beamed ceilings and the upstairs is finished with wooden floors. The main bedroom has a small balcony with amazing views of the valley. The house is ideally situated for Lake Bomba which is a beautiful place to relax or to be more active with all water sports available here. We are near the mountains which offer stunning views exhilarating walks and intriguing villages for exploration and of course, skiing in the winter.

"We have had an amazing time here. We don't feel that we have stayed at a holiday let as the feelings Casa Posta gives is one of a family home"

"We had a wonderful week, easy to get throughout Chieti. Good location, house/facilities as promised."

"The surroundings of Casa Posta are magnificent. A very nice independent terrace is placed only 5 meters from the kitchen door, and offers a beautiful view over the mountains and nearby villages. All in all we can strongly recommend Casa Posta as a wonderful place to stay and furthermore Casa Posta is very well situated in regard to experiencing the Chieti Province and southern Abruzzo."

"May I take this oppurtunity to say what a wonderful holiday we had in your beautiful house. We definately preferred the area to Tuscany. The house is delightfully renovated."

Relaxing Farmhouse, beautiful views and quiet

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely house, clean, comfortable and well appointed throughout, and along a lane away from the road which made it very peaceful. The view from the terrace is stunning!

The restaurants we ate at locally (recommended by the owners) were very good and amazing value for money, our favourite being Ghiottone in Piane D'archi, the owner is full of character and extremely friendly, the pizza's the best we have ever tasted.

This area is rural and the local people don't speak much English, however they know enough for you to get by. It is the ideal place for a truly restful and relaxing holiday and we felt that we got a real taste of true Italy.

The Adriatic coast is worth a visit, so are the hilltop towns, of which we explored many, the mountain roads are an adventure in themselves!!!

Thank you Sarah and Adam
