Constantia Lazy River is centrally located in the oldest wine area in the Cape. Set in a quiet cul de sac it has wonderful views of the mountain. The units are situation around the main house with a wonderful garden for kids with slide, jungle gym, swings, trampoline, barbecue facilities and shared pool. All units are self catering with private entrances, units are serviced, have secure parking with remote for gate, wireless internet, security, 1 min to Constantia Village shopping Mall, and fine family restaurants, 1 min to Constantiaberg Hopital, Virgin Active gym, walks and hikes, 10 min to both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean, 15 to Cape Town central and 10 to Kristenbosch Gardens. Constantia is home to Groot Constantia wine farm as well as Uitsig, Klein Constantia and Buitenverwagting. Lazy River is very child friendly where families can feel welcome and at home. Babysitting on request. All units have safes, hairdryers, fans and panel heaters. All have kitchen facilities.

The Willow Suite has wonderful views of the mountain, pool and river.

It is situated above the main house and has a private veranda that leads into the main living area with dining area and kitchen open plan. The kitchen has a mini oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge/freezer.

The main bedroom is spacious with king size bed and dressing table, there is then an adjoining area with bunk beds for the kids.

The bathroom is huge with 3 corner bath, bidet, double vanity and separate shower.

The unit has 2 flat screen TV's, safe, hairdryer, wireless internet, panic alarm. The unit is very sunny and light.

There are panel heaters and fans for hot summer nights. There is an iron and ironing board.

The unit is perfect for a family of 4 with small children. We can also provide cot and highchair if necessary in any of our units.

About the Owner

The property was bought by my mother and father in 1945. It was once part of 5 acres . Our house was were the original stables were. My father was Ronnie Quibell, an impresario who brought out many famous entertainers to South Africa from all over the world.My father fought the previous government for multi racial audiences. In the 50 years I have lived here, the area has developed substantially. I am passionate about South Africa, travel, the outdoors , theatre, art and music.

Constantia is an upmarket area with incredible history. Groot Constantia is the oldest wine farm in Cape Town and it is on our door step. I walk on the farm at least once a week. Constantia is very centrally situated to all the sites and beaches. It is also very protected from the wind. We have some of the finest restaurants in the valley. We are close to Virgin active Gym and Constantiaberg Hospital plus Constantia Village shopping centre, We have some of the finest hikes and spectacular views of the mountain, forest and what the Cape has to offer.. Constantia is a peaceful and quite escape from the city and yet only 10 km away from the city centre with its Waterfront, night clubs, theatre;s and restaurants.. We are in between both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean, 10 min in either direction. Constantia Lazy River, offers families a relaxed enviroment where children are welcome and longer stays are comfortable with a home from home feel.

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

Constantia is in land but central to both the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian Ocean has wonderful beaches for kids etc where as the Atlantic side is freezing cold but is more spectacular in scenery. Both would take max of 10 mins to get to.

Travel:

The airport is about 20 min by car. It is important to hire a car from the airport. South Africa does not have great public transport.

Distances:

We are about 10km to Cape Town Central. We are 1 min away from Constantia Village shopping Mall, Constantiaberg Hospital, fine and family restaurants, we have many hiking and biking trails in the area. Constantia is a very protected area with lots of green belts and we are not allowed to have signs up etc. It is not commercial and has wonderful natural beauty on our doorsteps, we have oldest wine farms in the Cape where you can feel you are in residential area but 1 min away in the wineland.

Further Details:

Constantia Village shopping Mall has a Woolworth which is the same group as Mark and Spencer, it has 2 big Pick n Pays, we have many restaurants, the banks are 1 min away, Cavendish Square is 10 min away with movies, restaurants, and close to Newlands sports ground with cricket and rugby etc.

Booking Notes:
You need to confirm booking in writing with dates, names etc. Would need all credit card details as a guarantee only. Money would only be deducted if you were a no show or changed or altered your booking. If that had to happen you would be charged for whatever portion I could not re let. You would need to sign an indemnity on arrival and full payment would need to be made on arrival either in cash or with a direct transfer into my account.

Changeover Day:
We are flexible with change overs.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per night in South African Rand. We will give a discount for longer stays and are very negotiable out of season. We are perfect for relocating to South Africa. Guest need to provide a budget and we can then negotiate a better price. Monthly rentals are 3 months and over, longer stays are a month long. Rates would depend on time of year and amount of people. December, January, February and March are high season.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

  • Notes on accommodation: We can accommodate singles, doubles or small groups. We are family run where your host Janine Verwey can advise on the area etc. We are very child friendly with baby sitting on request. The salt water pool has a large step for toddlers to play on. We can also provide a cot and highchair. We have a big boma barbecue area for those hot summer nights. Constantia is very centrally located to all the main sights, it is a up market area which is very green. We are also eco friendly in that we have solar geyers, grey water systems etc. We have wireless internet, parking within the facilities with armed response and your own remote for the gate. Outside: Each unit has there own outside area with garden furniture and there is a main boama barbecue area for bigger groups with hammock for lazy days. There are pool lounges next to the shared salt water pool. All the units are built around the main house where your host reside. They are on the property at all times to help and make your stay great.
