'Just back in Ireland after a most enjoyable week in L. Just wanted to thank you sincerely for a villa that was exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. The villa was clean, the location peaceful yet close enough to everything. The terrace was perfect for Rory to explore safely, and all the little necessities (cooking oils, towels, toys etc.) were very much appreciated.' Maureen and family, Ireland.

'Our holiday was again wonderful at your house. We really love this place and we feel so much at home there.' Romana and family, Austria.

"A belated but most sincere thank you for letting us rent Villa Minerva. All our dreams were fulfilled by the excellence of everything - especially the pool.'

Yours sincerely, Dr M and wife.

A very pleasant villa with superb heated pool

  • 4 of 5

We spent a full month in this property in March/April. It is situated in a quiet location, and has a superb heated pool. We also made full use of the barbecue and internet TV with wifi.

Well designed, equipped, and clean, this is an ideal base for exploring the island by car.

We particularly enjoyed the marina, and nearby El Golfo and Puerto Calero.

The volcanos at Montanos del Fuego are spectacular.

The temperature is always pleasant, but we had some strong winds and rain in the earlier weeks.

We would happily return to this villa.

Excellent villa, good location

  • 5 of 5

The Villa Minerva is perfect for a hioliday stay if you don't like bustling crowds yet want to be near to the attractions. It is situated in a quiet residental district of Playa Blanca, which is Lanzarote's nicest resort. The Villa is well maintained and has all you will need, including a heated pool. We found our stay very relaxing; nothing at all to fault and much to praise.

Villa Minerva

  • 4 of 5

A well located and well presented villa, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Minerva. We are regular visitors to the Faro Park area and have stayed in a good number of villas. Whilst this is not the most luxurious villa in the area it does not claim to be either and represents good value for money when taking into consideration the prices that other villa owners are charging. It has a good layout, is clean and has everything you need for a good family holiday. The inclusion of wifi, beach towels and a selection of games, books and pool toys only add to the value. The location is ideal being only a five minute walk from the excellent local restaurants, shops and bars (La Flamenca & The Lounge highly recommended) and yet being in a mainly residential area it was very quiet & peaceful with a sea view from both the dining room and the pool terrace.

If you're looking for value for money in the Faro Park area then I can thoroughly recommend Villa Minerva.

A lovely villa in a lovely setting. Faro park was perfect for our family holiday as its as quiet as you can get without it being remote and cut off, yet its near enough to places like playa blanca. The villa itself was perfect for us. It retains some character whilst being practical and we will never forget sitting in the conservatory/side room having our dinner whilst watching the most beautiful sunsets ever.

Villa Minerva

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week in Lanzarote. The villa was perfect for our family. It was clean and welcoming, and in a quiet residential location which was one of the reasons we were keen to book it. It had a great heated pool which was a good size, and lovely and warm. Given the weather wasn't too kind some of the time, the fact that the pool was heated was such a bonus as it meant we could use it even on cooler days, which the children loved. The water in the villa was always good and hot too at all times of the day and night (always important with little ones). The villa was really well equipped for a week away. In terms of facilities nearby there were a few good restaurants, a fantastic bakery and a supermarket all within walking distance. We hired a car for the week which meant we could explore some of the island (when we could entice the children from the pool). This also made the journey to/from the airport really easy which took about 30 minutes. I have already recommended the villa to a friend and if we chose to go back to Lanzarote we would definitely book it again.

A perfect holiday!!

  • 5 of 5

We spent an unforgettable holiday in Lanzarote my inlaws, my 2 year old daughter, my husband and me. Faro Park and specifically Villa Minerva have exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect as it is a quiet and safe place with nearby shops which are within walking distance and has a beautiful weather. All the family could relax because the Villa is very safe for children, even the pool area. In addition, the owners have been very kind to give us information about the area and the island in general. In the Villa we missed nothing and everything was neat and clean; the owners had thought of everything and even more: there were books, DVDs, Wi-Fi, even beach toys!! And the house keepers, who live in Faro Park too, were also very kind to us and even invited us to drink a local white wine at their place!

From the Owner

We visited Playa Blanca in Lanzarote for the first time in 2002 when we were a family of 3 and fell in love with the place. The island is full of special and unique features and the weather is absolutely gorgeous, especially when visiting during the cold seasons. Playa Blanca is one of the newest parts of Lanzarote to be developed and has the best weather. Of all the properties that we viewed, those in Faro Park stood out as they had been built to a particularly high quality and standard. We have continued to enjoy returning with an expanding family ( now 5) over the last decade and continue to be charmed by the island. Villa Minerva is our second home, our home away from home that we love visiting.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Walking, cycling, bird watching, deepsea diving, snorkling.

The stunning Atlantic coast is only a few hundred yards away so that with the windows open, you can sleep hearing the waves lapping the coastline. The nearest beach is Playa Flamingo is about 20 min walk or 3 min drive which has child friendly breakwater constructions. (Please note that this beach is being renovated during 2010). There are more beaches (5-10 min drive) in Playa Blanca including the Playa Blanca beach, Playa Dorada, and the famous protected Papagayo beaches.

The only airport on the island is in the capital, Arrecife, which is approximately 30mins drive from the villa. Private meet and greet with airport pick up service is available. Otherwise, car rental should be arranged or a taxi can be used. There is also a public bus service between the airport and Playa Blanca that also stops at Faro Park. We recommend that you rent a car for at least part of your stay to visit sites of interest on the island. Bicycle rental is also available in Playa Blanca.

Airport 35km / 30 min drive Arrecife. There are a few restaurants, mini-markets, bars, cafes and bakery within a few minutes walk from the villa. The centre of Playa Blanca with its excellent range of bars and restaurants (Spanish, fresh seafood, authentic Italian, Chinese, Indian, steak houses, Tex Mex etc) is 3km / 5 min drive away.

Further Details:

There are twice weekly outdoor markets (Wednesday and Saturday mornings)in the Rubicon Marina. Ideal spot for walkers and cyclists, especially along the seaside promenade around most of Playa Blanca. Several scuba diving centres are present in Playa Blanca. The island has many sites of breath-taking, stunning, panoramic scenery and places of interest, including Timanfaya National Park (Fire mountains) which is about 20 minutes drive, El Golfo where you can see the green lagoon, and is a good place for the freshest seafood, Famara Beach on the north-west coast for surfing, many artistic creations by the famous local artist Cesar Manrique including Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio, the Cactus Gardens, and Cesar Manrique Foundation. The El Grifo wine museum is of interest as are the spectacular and unique vineyards on the island. There is a large weekly market in the town of Teguise.
