Holiday Apartment in Polis, Paphos, Latchi Area, Cyprus - Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk from the Old Town Centre

A spacious two bedroom apartment sleeping 4. The apartment is in a low rise block of 3 floors, built in an old citrus grove. It is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with private off road parking and a shared pool. All rooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. There is a large, covered balcony for outdoor eating which overlooks the pool. The smaller rear balcony is perfect for an evening drink as you watch the sun go down.

Why Chris Neal chose Polis

The apartment is close to the old town of Polis and leisure facilities. The blue flag beach is only a few minutes away by car. The sea is very warm. A large variety of visits and activities are available in the area. It is only 45 minutes by car from Paphos Airport. The apartment is on the first floor but there is a lift for access if you need it. The small complex is in a tranquil setting but is convenient for visiting the local attractions of the Troodos Mountains, the Baths of Aphrodite, impressive archaeological sites and the Avakas Gorge.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is spacious, modern, fully furnished and air conditioned. The pedestrianised old town centre with its bars and restaurants is only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. It is situated on the Polis Chrysouchou Bay and the nature reserve of the Akamas Peninsular is close by. To the east of Polis is the beautiful coast of Argaka and to the west is the marina of Latchi with its fish restaurants and water sports facilities. Paphos Town is 30 minutes away by car.

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning/heating will be charged at £2.50 per unit per day. Cots or high chairs can be provided at extra cost if required. The apartment is strictly non-smoking. Internet access is available if required, at a small. weekly charge, payable locally. Outside: The pool area is landscaped and shared exclusively with the other apartments but is never crowded. It has private showers, toilets and changing facilities for the use of guests. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Adequate towels (excluding beach towels) and bedlinen are provided with a change at the end of the first week during a 2 week stay. Extra changes and cleaning can be arranged and charged to suit your requirements. Other: The large, front balcony is covered and has a glass topped aluminium table and 4 chairs. It overlooks the pool and has views of the surrounding countryside.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in May 2013.

Although we arrived very late at night, the clear instructions enabled us to find it straight away.

The apartment itself is very well appointed, well maintained and spotlessly clean; there was nothing that we needed that wasn't there. There are sun loungers for relaxation by the pool (we had it completely to ourselves!), a balcony for breakfast and another for our early evening aperitifs.

It is in a delightful situation, a six minute walk through the citrus groves will take you to the centre of Polis, a quaint old piece of Cyprus.

There are plenty of restaurants in Polis and, if you want to be more adventurous, you can walk along the sea front to the port of Latchi where there are fabulous fish restaurants (the fish mezze are to die for).

We hope to return and would recommend it unreservedly.

The nearest beach is blue flag and is approximately 2kms away at Polis. It has sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar open throughout the summer. The beach at Polis is connected to Latchi by a new walkway and cycle path along the coast. Bikes are available for hire in the town.


The nearest airport of Paphos is 51kms away and takes 45 minutes by car. Car hire is recommended for best access to all the region's attractions but public transport is available.


Polis town centre is 10 minutes walk away, 2 minutes by car. Latchi with its marina and waterfront fish restaurants is 5 minutes by car. The Baths of Aphrodite and the Akamas Peninsula are about 10 minutes away. The Akamas nature reserve is perfect if you like walking or cycling but if you prefer your exercise to be a little more relaxed the Baths of Aphrodite require only a 100 metre walk in well laid out grounds and there is ample car parking. It is all free.

Further Details:

In the old town there are bars, cafes and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, including traditional Cypriot food. The central area is pedestrianised and has a relaxed and charming ambience with car parking nearby. Adjacent to the town centre there are banks and shops. In the summer months, in the municipality grounds, the local council provides free Friday night open-air performances called "Summer nights in Polis" which are in Greek. Even if your language skills are not up to it they are still very entertaining and worth the visit.The last time we were there a barn owl flew overhead and enjoyed the play.There is a large supermarket where they sell virtually everything (part of the Papantoniou chain) which is 4 minutes away by car.

Try the Santa Barbara Sunset bar on the Argaka coast, where there are sunbeds and the food and drink good, and watch the sunset over the Akamas headland.
